some things to consider with dividers:

- the width
- the placement (of the divider and also the text around it)
- the spacing
- if the divider ends with the text
- any special things like icons you can add to them (ex french eagle) (not always necessary)

Text included: On Top - Capitaine Tardet Bottom - 85e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne
Images to be used: A picture of a French soldier, I leave that up to you.
Color Scheme(Elegant,Rough,etc): Elegant. Used to love the Red-Black-Gold color scheme but if it is better to use only two colors, red and black should do.
Minor things to add: If you can somehow add that flag. and it fits well in the signature, I'd love but if it just doesn't look good, don't bother.
Blood or Smoke: Either one of them or both, I tend to think they add a classy touch when its well done, again I will leave that up to you, if it’s not too much than why not adding some.
Regimental or Personal: Regimental

Just to give you an idea, I used to have one of those signature and really liked them: 91st Signature | 17e Signature They're rather different but figured out it could help you getting some inspiration.
