Teams will only be composed of players who have the nationality of their team's country/countries. 2. Teams will be composed of 12 players minimum, 24 players maximum. 3. Teams containing coalitions between countries will only be allowed by the organizers, on the condition that this is the only way for these countries to play due to low numbers. 4. Matches will be allowed to be played with either 8, 10 or 12 players maximum. Captains will decide it when they set their matches up. If both Captains can't agree on a maximum number of players, I will be the one who decides. 5. If a team doesn't bring enough players, they will play with what they have, but the team they face will still be allowed to have the decided maximum number of men fighting. 6. Teams will have to pick one unit between the following: Hussar, Cuirassier, Dragoon, and will have to stick to it throughout the competition. 7. Matches will be 'first to 8'. 8. To win a round, a team has to kill everyone in the enemy team. 9. Picking enemy weapons and horses is allowed, like in a standard 1v1 regimental cavalry fight. 10. Behave ! Do not tea-bag, and keep the global chat to a minimum. 11. Listen to the admins and what they say. 12. Matches' organization will be up to the Captains of the teams which have to face each other every week. They have to post a date and hour, and then I will give a referee and server to this match. 13. One officer (the Team Captain or the Vice Captain if the Captain isn't there) per team may be on the field, to lead his men. 14. Shooting is strictly forbidden. If an officer or a ranker is caught firing his pistol, referees will reset the round, and the team of the guilty man will loose one point. |

Why you should be Captain (a long answer would be better): Could say I am a veteran among the cavalry community having lead the 15th Hussars for 2 years and then being the captain of 4e Hussars for a short period of time, experience in leadership is least of my worries. Even though last year ive not been very connected to the community I still know my fair share and would not see assembling a team a problem if i make contact with few old friends. Though skill wise im a bit rusty, nothing i cant fix with a bit of practice to get back on my feet. After a dissapointing last edition of this tournament im hungry to make it right this time.

Why you should be Captain (a long answer would be better): Well, I think I am well known in the spanish community, and I have a good experience leading and training cavalry in Napoleonic Wars, Mercenaries, Native and other mods. I was the captain of the spanish team in the first and second nations cup and I think that we did a good work getting the third place in the last one.

And these players are monaco citizens or lives in Monaco right? :)
Chichile applied for France Team btw! ;D

Now the inferior part of Polish team wants to create the purely Silesian team (filth). THANK YOU ERIC, I APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT
that's racist
Just to let everyone know. After discussing with Falanghe, I decided not to allow the Monaco team to participate. The reason is simple: those players are not from Monaco. It was just an idea for the heavy cav players of France to have a chance of participating, which is quite a noble idea, but sadly I can not do favours to anyone, if I did it would give an excuse to people who want to form second teams for their countries, and I can not have that.
On other news, Captains' meeting is most likely gonna be held tonight ! There we will decide about the starting date of the tournament, discuss any matter which needs to be discussed, and we will set the groups up. Big announcements ahead then, stay tuned ! :)
2. Teams will be composed of 14 players minimum, 21 players maximum.
2. Teams will be composed of 12 players minimum, 24 players maximum.

because I'm not good compared to some French.
That's the reason? I thought it was because you were just taking the kills on the guys on the ground, complaining about the serv, playing only solo and ragequiting before the end the selection (crash for sure), in short not the right attitude to play in FRA team according to the captain post. My bad, you have a better explanation apparently ::)
``humm we dont pick you because you dont teamwork qui?´´
So much hate. I have no bias one way or the other here, but as you only have 19 players in the roster, could he not play?you havent seen the NWWC then

Lieber Exotic Fail,

WTF is wrong with this group system, are you guys limited? Why dont you make the elimination system with losers' and winners bracket like it is in dota? As it is now we can have e.g. PL/FRA/UK team better than the 2nd seed from the first group, yet they will end sooner, ending the tournament with a worse result they deserve
Just what the fuck, like it is not like winners'/losers' bracket increases the length, the only thing it casuses is the tournament to be more fair.

Germanic Countries vs Turkey This match was the opening match of the 2016 CNC. On one side were the Germanic Countries. This team is one of the favourite teams of this tournament, considering the fact that they reached the final in 2015, against France. Facing them was the Turkish team. This team first appeared in last year's CNC, they did not participate in 2014. Led by Caucasian, the Turks gave a really tough start to the Germanic Countries. Although the Germans were one man down during the first round, the Turks really played in an excellent way, nearly winning it, which would have been a surprise to all. However the Germans finally were the ones to win the first round, and as we could have guessed, they didn't give any more chances to the Turkish team in the rounds that followed. The match ended in a 8-0 win for the Germanic Countries, who put up a solid performance against the Turks, who fought well and until the end despite having ping issues, that hopefully we will be able to fix by their next match. [close] | United Kingdom vs Czech Republic & Slovakia The Czechs & Slovakians are entirely new to the tournament. Like the Turks, not all of their players are from the cavalry community, because there are simply not enough of them. The United Kingdom, who has had a bad experience in last year's CNC, losing in the groups stage and not reaching the semi-finals, really showed their will to put up a way better performance this year. And no mistake was made from the Brits, who played every round the same way, by playing agressively and collectively. An 8-0 victory, and a job well done for the British team, which will certainly hope to keep going the same way in their upcoming matches. The Czech team fought until the very end, never making things easy for the United Kingdom. [close] |
France vs Poland Without any doubt the most important of this week's matches. France vs Poland is a fight that never disappoints. Some remember the 2014 final, won by Poland after a painful match against the French. Others remember the 2015 revenge of the french team. This year's match did not disappoint either. The French, who are clearly acting as favourites in this year's edition of the CNC, having won last year and fielding a quite solid team this year too, faced a good and well organized Polish team. Showing great skills in the execution of the famous 'circle' heavy cavalry tactic, the Poles gave the French a hard time winning every round. An 8-2 victory for the french, in a match where everything had to be hardly fought for, and which makes us really look forward to both France and Poland's next matches. [close] | Spain vs Russia & Ukraine Then again, this match made a brand new team, Russia & Ukraine, face a veteran one, the Spanish team, that has been playing the CNC since 2014, always with the same captain, the same unit, and the same excellent results. The Spaniards did not disappoint, and struck the Russo-Ukrainians hard from round 1 to the very end of the match. Their sharp organization, added to the individually skilled players they have, was the key to Spain's 8-0 victory. The Russians put up a quite enjoyable fight to watch, fighting with honour and charging quite gallantly into the Spaniards facing them. A great spirit overall, which we hope, will be kept throughout the whole tournament. [close] |

This is new to the Napoleonic Wars Cavalry Nations Cup. Every sunday, when all the matches of the week have been played, we will post reviews of these matches, so any person who hasn't been able to spectate the fights can know the way everything went down.
Added to those matches reviews, we will post two interviews. Every week we will interview two captains, one of each group, to ask him questions regarding the tournament and his own team.
All of this is new to us, and we are trying something here. This is done for your own enjoyment, and we hope you will like the idea and the way it is done. Any kind of feedback is appreciated, do not hesitate to post on the thread to say what you think, no matter if it's positive or negative feedback.
- Matches Reviews -
Germanic Countries vs TurkeyThis match was the opening match of the 2016 CNC. The match ended in a 8-0 win for the Germanic Countries, who put up a solid performance against the Turks, who fought well and until the end despite having ping issues, that hopefully we will be able to fix by their next match.[close] United Kingdom vs Czech Republic & SlovakiaThe Czechs & Slovakians are entirely new to the tournament. The Czech team fought until the very end, never making things easy for the United Kingdom.[close]
France vs PolandWithout any doubt the most important of this week's matches. An 8-2 victory for the french, in a match where everything had to be hardly fought for, and which makes us really look forward to both France and Poland's next matches.[close] Spain vs Russia & UkraineThen again, this match made a brand new team, Russia & Ukraine, face a veteran one, the Spanish team, that has been playing the CNC since 2014, always with the same captain, the same unit, and the same excellent results. A great spirit overall, which we hope, will be kept throughout the whole tournament.[close]
- Interviews -
As said before, two captains, one from each group, will be interviewed every week. Those interviews happened on TS, their answers were then written. Both the captains have read all their answers and have agreed to them.
This week's interviewed captains are Caucasian and Tardet.
Caucasian, captain of Turkey:Spoiler
(https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/11/1458489887-interviews1.png) Q. Your team is part of group A, alongside the Germanic Countries, Spain, Russia & Ukraine and Benelux. What comment would you give about this group and the Turkish team in it ?
Caucasian: The two groups are balanced. In group A we may not be favourites, but we will try out best. We know it's not gonna be easy, because the Germanic Countries, Spain and Benelux are very strong, but we will try and put up a fight against them for sure...
Q. The Turkish community is quite important and massive in the Native part of M&B, but not so much in NW. Was gathering a turkish team a hard task for you and your vice-captain ?
Caucasian: It was a pretty hard thing to do actually, because there are not many turkish cavalry players in NW, a lot of my players are from infantry. We had to train them, how to ride, how to fight on horse etc. They already have experience in infantry, but not cavalry, so the job was definitely not an easy one. But at the end, even if it was hard we managed to gather 21 members in the team, and we'll try to get the best out of them in our matches.
Q. You've played the opening match of the CNC, and not an easy one since it was against the Germanic Countries. How did you prepare for it and what did you tell your men before the match ?
Caucasian: We've had some friendly matches against other nations and regiments. I also told my men to spend a lot of time on CavGF. During the match I told them to stay calm and focused, not to panick and make mistakes. On the pitch I was trying to give them tips, to help them as best I could, while fighting.
Q. The first round against Germany was really close and you guys nearly won it. The rest of the match was much harder. How did you and the team feel throughout the whole match and at the end of it ?
Caucasian: The first round was a close one for sure, but losing it made it hard for us. However I told my men to remain calm and keep playing, and that's what we did, we refused to give up. Germany was better than us and it was no surprise that they won, we know that.
Q. Is there any match that you are particularly looking forward to playing and winning ?
Caucasian: We are looking forward to the match against Russia & Ukraine. We feel that we can beat them, and we will do everything we can to achieve that.[close]
Tardet, captain of France:Spoiler
Q. France has won last year's CNC, and only has lost one match since 2014. Those stats clearly give you the role of favourite to the champions title this year. How do you approach this year's edition with that pressure on the team ?
Tardet: We are rather confident in ourselves. The stats that you gave help us to be that way. We know we have a good team, although I find it less strong than the team we had last year. However, we're going to bear our favourite role, and we won't take any extra pressure because of it. We won't let ourselves become arrogant and cocky, we know there will be some really complicated matches to play, and some easier ones. But we know we will play every match 100% in order to try and defend our title.
Q. You have started this competition by fighting Poland. With the years, this match has become kind of a "classic" in the CNC. Poland beat France in the 2014 final, then France ruled Poland out of the groups stage in 2015. How did you prepare and what was your mentality for that match ?
Tardet: We are aware that Poland is one of the best teams in the competition, and that we would be under pressure fighting them, since it was our first match. But we also knew that we would be released of that pressure after the match, which is a good thing. We wanted to have a friendly match against the Spanish team, a heavy cavalry one, to train before the match, but sadly enough it could not happen.
Q. The match finally ended on an 8-2 victory for France. How do you feel about that result ?
Tardet: The Polish team is very strong, no doubt about that. They played with a tactic that they used in 2014 and which made us lose the final. But that was two years ago, and nowadays we know how this tactic works. The map, unlike 2014, doesn't help them here, and that's what helped us to counter their tactic and win. We knew the Poles were dangerous because they are skilled players, but their strategy itself was not so big of a threat anymore. At the end of the day each round was really close and tense, but we managed to find a way to win nearly everytime.
Q. France is part of group B, alongside the United Kingdom, Italy, the Czech Republic & Slovakia, and Poland. What comment can you give about this group ?
Tardet: It is a tough group and we are aware of it. There are some very good teams in it, the United Kingdom and Poland. The match against the UK will be a huge challenge but I think we are ready. Italy went heavy cavalry, this might be dangerous for us because it's new, but I believe that after the match against Poland, we will be up for the task. The Czechs and Slovakians are new to the competition, I really don't know much about their cavalry community, so we will see. As I said, we will fight every match intensly.
Q. What is your philosophy as a team Captain ?
Tardet: I give the same importance to everyone in the team, I don't have any preference. I have a group of veteran players, which I work with to be efficient. France has a good team, I take all the things we've done in the past into account to try and do my best. In the team I mostly do organization work, I'm not always the one managing the team on the field, but I'm the one who decides who spawns in and who doesn't. Once this is done, the team is independent enough to know what it has to do.(https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/11/1458490399-interview2.png) [close]

United Kingdom vs Italy The United Kingdom keeps on its strong start, with a win against the Italian team. This match was Italy's first fight in this year's Cavalry Nations Cup, as well as they first ever match played as heavy cavalry. This unit change was done before the beggining of the competition, but did not help to surprise the Brits, who have managed to win by 8 to 1. A good result ahead of the big clashes against France and Poland, for which the United Kingdom will need to be motivated 100%. Italy has had its free week at the first matchday, it will now play every week until the end of the groups stage. Knowing their skills for creating surprises, surely we can hope for very enjoyable matches to watch. [close] | France vs Czech Republic & Slovakia Just like the United Kingdom did, France kept everything up and has won against the Czech and Slovakian team, only giving them one round. Final score, 8-1, a result that will certainly give the French the confidence they need to keep going with their next matches. No team has yet been able to defeat the reigning champions, and the French team surely will do everything they need to stay out of danger and reach the semi-finals. [close] |
Germanic Countries vs Russia & Ukraine A match that was quite hard to organize, with the different timezones between those countries, and the easter timechange that did not help. However, once the first round was live it was a pretty enjoyable fight to watch. The Russo-Ukrainians played courageously and in an always motivated mood, but it was not enough to beat the very strong germanic side, which won the match by 8 to 1. The Germanic Countries remain as strong as they look, and have no reason not to keep this going until the end of the groups stage. [close] | Benelux vs Turkey A job well done for the Benelux team this week, which is the only winning team not to have lost a single round this week. Fierce and aggressive from round 1 to the end of the match, the Dutch and Belgian players did not do any mistake, despite the fact that the Turks gave them some hard times, which they had to fight their way out of. The overall mood of the match was enjoyable, with Benelux not hesitating to wait a few minutes for Turkey to bring some more of their players, and good sportsmanship shown by both sides. [close] |

Match: Poland vs ItalyWe finally meet again after two years :P
Date & Hour: Saturday , 21.00 CET
Maximum number of players (8, 10 or 12): 8 (more when both sides bring more players).
France vs Italy A match between the reigning champions and the newly heavy cavalry'd Italian team. This could only be an interesting match, and it sure was. The French did quite a few mistakes, which the Italians always managed to make them pay for. However, the French managed to fix everything that was not working right, and finally ended up winning the match by 8 points to 2. The current champions should now know what they have to work on in order to correct those mistakes before their next matches. [close] | Spain vs Turkey This match confirmed the strong way the Spanish team currently is on. Absolutely no mistake was made against the Turkish side, which tried a new tactic in order to beat the Spaniards. Although it did put them in tough situations quite a few times, it did not manage to bring Spain down, and the match was won by the Spanish cuirassiers 8-0. Two very big matches now await the Spanish team, and the confidence they have gained from this victory will be needed for sure. Turkey will now face Russia & Ukraine. A match, that, as Caucasian had said in his interview, the Turks are really looking forward to playing and winning. [close] |
United Kingdom vs Poland This was probably one of the closest match resulting in such a score. The very well organized Polish team, using its usual circle heavy cavalry tactic, did manage to hurt the United Kingdom many times, sometimes bringing them down to 3 or 4 men against 6 or 7. However, the Brits did not get carried away, and thanks to a very effective association of great teamplay and excellent individual skills, they finally won every rounds against the Poles. 8-0 for Britain, a result that even France did not manage to reach. Surely this brings some hype up before the clash between France and the United Kingdom, in one week. A match that will decide of a lot of things, in this Cavalry Nations Cup. [close] | Benelux vs Germanic Countries Despite some regrettable events that brought some tensions about this match, it was, to many, one of the most interesting and intense match played so far in the Cavalry Nations Cup. Very very close at first, with nor the Germanic nor the Benelux players giving their opponents any chance, after 8 or so rounds played in total, it is Benelux that finally took advantage over the Germanic Countries. Winning rounds with swift attacks and great skills, they managed to bring the Germanic team down, and although the rounds were still quite close, Benelux always managed to win at the end of them. Final score: 8-4, in favour of Benelux. A huge win for the dutch and belgian players, which makes group A very very close and tense about who will get qualified. The Germanic Countires now have no choice but to win against Spain if they want to have a chance to reach the semi-finals, and Benelux surely will be trying to keep everything up against the Spaniards, to secure their spot in the next stage. Nice job with the interviews, always a good read. :)
Nice interviews.
For the organisers, there was a misunderstanding in our interview: it says we won the friendlies against UK and Poland, we we lost them xD

I'm never telling anything to Famas, if that can reassure you, I'm too worried he would hurt himself in the process of doing something useful for the team.

4th Macthday: Poland vs Italy The only match between two heavy cavalry teams in the whole tournament. Both Poland and Italy were very motivated to get an extra win in the group stage. It was finally Poland that came out victorious, after a quite enjoyable match, with great skills and mistakes on both sides. [close] | 4th Matchday: Russia & Ukraine vs Turkey This match was played between the two "historical" rivals of this tournament. Caucasian had made it clear in his interview, his very aim was to beat the Russo-Ukrainian team. However the eastern men did not let this match go easily for the Turks. Outnumbers by a few men, the Russian and Ukrainian players showed excellent skills and teamplay in front of the Turks, and eventually managed to get a 8-6 win against them. No win then for the Turkish team, and the Russo-Ukrainian one can be proud of this victory, which probably leave them a good memory of the whole tournament. [close] |
5th Matchday: Spain vs Benelux To most, one of the closest and most entertaining encounters of this group stage. After beating the Germanic Countries, the Benelux team had a chance to instantly qualify to the semi-finals. But that was without taking the Spaniards into account. Those came with great numbers, and with a fierce motivation to beat the Belgian and Dutch players. A task that was not easy at all, since the rounds were always very close, as well as the score. But the Spanish team finally came through this challenge with a victory over Benelux, 8-6. The match lasted for about 2 hours, and both teams really can be congratulated for their performance. [close] | 5th Matchday: France vs United Kingdom A match that surely could have been as close and tense as Spain vs Benelux, but was not afterall. After 4 very close rounds, in which both British and French showed great skills and great wills to win, the French team started dominating their opponents, not giving them any chances. Despite some great individual skills by the UK players, the powerful teamplay spirit of the French team prevailed: 8-2 to France. This match had little in-game though, since it only was played to decide who would be 1st and who would be 2nd of Group B, both teams were already qualified before fighting. [close] |
6th Matchday: Germanic Countries vs Spain After losing to Benelux, the Germanic team had no choice but to get a very very important victory against the Spanish team. They all knew that, and as we can guess all their players were very motivated, and played in that very way. This match was a very close and tense one, but the Spaniards did not manage to defeat the Germanic players as they did Benelux. The match ended up on the Germanic Countries taking an important advantage, both skill and points-wise. The match ended up with a 8-4 victory to the Germanic Countries, a score that allows them to go to the final stage, by one point more than Spain in the points difference. A frustrating result for Spain, but a result they can be proud of nonetheless, since they fought until the very end, showing great skills all the way. [close] | 6th Matchday: Benelux vs Russia & Ukraine This was the occasion for the Benelux team to secure their first place in group A, no mistake could be made. And fortunately for Clausewitz and his men, none was made that day, and despite some difficulties due to the Russo-Ukrainians showing great skills on the pitch, a 8-0 victory was caught by Benelux. This result put them in 1st position, which leads them to facing the United Kingdom in the semi-final. A match that surely will be interesting and very tense. As it is for many other teams, the tournament ends for the Russian & Ukrainian team. It was a great pleasure to welcome them into the event for the very first time. [close] | 6th Matchday: Italy vs Czech Republic & Slovakia Both teams' last match in this year's Cavalry Nations Cup. No particular in-game, this was a match simply played for fun and enjoyement. The overall mood of the match was excellent, with players joking with each other and such. On the pitch we could see a pretty good fight, between a sharp Italian side and the Czech & Slovakian team. The match ended on a 8-2 victory to Italy, which probably is for the Italian a good way to finish this tournament and to keep a good memory of it. [close] |
(https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/11/1458489887-interviews1.png) | Q. It is your first ever CNC as the captain of the Germanic Countries (two previous editions: Cooper). How do you feel about being in this position ? Caylor: I once played before in 2014, I haven't played last year. I first spoke with all the members, as I knew I would like to be in this position. I asked for opinions about me leading the teams, and the answers I had were positive, I did not have many problems being accepted as their leader. I feel quite good about being in this position, I hope my team feels the same way and is happy to have me as its captain. Q. The Germanic Countries have always been a powerful team in the Cavalry Nations Cup, finishing 3rd in 2014 and 2nd in 2015. Did you feel any particular pressure about that fact on your team or yourself ? Caylor: I kind of felt a lot of pressure, because it is my first time being the captain. I have to be as good as cooper and lead it as good as he did, because he did a very good job in the past: we reached the final with him. I would like to go as far as he went, and come up to the expectations people have of the team. Your team has won a very very important match against Spain. How did you prepare for that match, and how did you find your team during the fight ? Caylor: We did not have a lot of preparation for this match (no friendly match against Spain). A bit of CavalryGroupFighting before the match, and a few fights against heavies was the preparation we had. We played a 1v1 against the 14pk, with my regiment, the Nr.3. Before the match I told my men to be very careful, not to go for dismounted or to get caught in the "circle of death" of the heavy cav formation. The first few rounds were really close, because we hadnd't played a match for 2 weeks so we were a bit rusty, but then it got better, and we started winning rounds and fighting better, and now I'm really happy and proud of my men, because we just beat one of the strongest team of the tournament with a good result. Q. Surely this result against Spain was a relief to you and your team, since that defeat against Benelux did put your team in a quite difficult position. How did you feel about losing this match to the Benelux ? How did you motivate your team to carry on after that result ? Caylor: After losing to Benelux we felt really bad because we were confident, we had won a friendly match against them before, so we were quite surprised. We felt pretty bad about that, it was a very important match and we had lost it. However I told my men to stay focused, to look forward to our next matches, especially the one against Spain, and to be ready to win what we needed to win to reach the semi finals. Q. Benelux has beaten Russia & Ukraine by 8-0, which means they will be in the first position of group A, and you will be second. This leads you to facing the first team of group B in the semi-finals: France. How do you feel about that match to come against the reigning champions of the cup ? Caylor: France is the opponent that most of our team fear. We have lost last year against them in the final. However, this year we had a friendly against France and we lost 8-7, which is a really really close result. This motivated us and showed us that we are able to beat the French team, to come really close to it. We know it will be one of the hardest match we'll have to play, but we'll prepare for it as best as we can and we'll try to put up a good fight against France. |
Applying the materialist, deterministic conception of history of Montesquieu, I would say that 'it is not chance that rules the world. There are general causes, moral and physical, which act in every monarchy, elevating it, maintaining it or hurling it to the ground.' (Considerations on the causes of the Greatness of the Romans and their Decline, 1734). Paraphrasing monarchy with National team, moral causes with total number of hours spent on Cav Gf and physical causes with quality of connection I would say that his analysis fits Cavalry Tournaments pretty well :D
Anyway, I congratulate the four semifinalists. They were probably the best of their teams, together with Spain who beat the first team in Group A but didn't qualify (would be nice to see the qualifying system, it would be more transparent ;) ) Every victory is not to be taken for granted: concentration and hard work is required each time.
We all had 3 wins, so the difference in rounds won and rounds lost is what counts. The Germanic Countries and Benelux had a superior difference in rounds won and rounds lost.
Credits to Erik for the stats:
Germanic Countries:
8+8+4+8 = 28 rounds won
1+8+4 = 13 rounds lost
Total: +15.
Spain:
8+8+8+4 = 28 rounds won
6+8 = 14 rounds lost
Total: +14.
Benelux:
8+8+6+8 = 30 rounds won
4+8 = 12 rounds lost
Total: +18.
So when exactly can we start rattling our sabres outside the British embassy?I guess the British embassy keeps relocating and Clausewitz cant find it :D

Anyway looking forward to knowing who will contest France this year. Either way it won't be Poland or Germany like in 2014-15.
Won't be there. Shame. qqShouldnt be an issue for BNL ;D
Good Game Benelux, Was very intense throughout!
Now France, there will be revenge ;)

A pretty underwhelming performance for Benelux, if I may say. UK was lacking both Rival and Majestic (unless they joined in the last rounds I didn't spec). Fielding players like Clausewitz, Lio, PyrosZ, Freyr, Sosea, Rhen, Nareman and many good others, they had all the means to go through. Still, I know very well as a Captain that it is difficult to keep concentration and motivation up the entire competition and it seems that BNL failed exactly in this.
The question is: will UK be able to do a Leicester? 8)Meaning?
You are obviously underestimating the UK team and their players.
chat shit get bangedWow Harford.... You always got the best comment for discussions like this :D
I'm glad you can so very accurately pinpoint the problems of other teams. You are obviously underestimating the UK team and their players. Applying the materialist, deterministic conception of history of Montesquieu, I would say that 'it is not chance that rules the world. There are general causes, moral and physical, which act in every monarchy, elevating it, maintaining it or hurling it to the ground.' (Considerations on the causes of the Greatness of the Romans and their Decline, 1734). ;)
You don't follow football, do you? It means winning against unfavorable odds as Leicester did in this Premier League 2015-16.
Meaning?
It's alright.... 8-1This I don't understand. If you are talking about UK-ITA 8-1 I can easily explain it in terms of us having only 2 good players (me and Frank), we were trying a new class (cui) and you had, besides the usual 5-6 good players, Majestic and Rival. You also played most of the match 10 against 8-9 of us.

My aim is not to start an argument/attack you or other players. I simply seek the truth and comment based on what I have experienced and seen in the past.
BNL in my opinion had more good players than UK in the match but was less focused than UK. UK is a good team but a focused BNL could have well beaten the UK. I saw mistakes and rounds almost won given up by BNL which is why I think BNL was less focused and thus lost.
I am far from 'accurately pinpointing the faults of other teams' when I say that BNL lacked focus and concentration. That is as general a statement as anyone spectating the match could make.
I am glad you quoted Montesquieu, but I dont think you applied it correctly to this case. I believe that moral factors (skill) were stronger on BNL side but I didn't account for the importance of focus which is also a moral factor and one which played a big role in the UK-BNL match. The physical factors (ping) hardly mattered since both teams had good low pings (20-30) apart from Rhen (70-90+).
You have proven time and time again that you know very little about the skill of all these players. You don't know what went on during these battles, and nor could you. You simply are in no position to judge who is better than who. To say that the UK has worse players than the BNL (maybe not with so many words) is a slap in the face to those who made it into the final winning with skill. Have some respect for both teams, and keep your opinions out of this thread. Too bad you didn't catch that bit of sarcasm there though, I'm sure Montesquieu would have. How did I prove time and again that I know very little about the skill of these players?
I studied Montesquieu and read different works of his, having taken a module on the Enlightenment at University this year.
It's a shame you continuously try to drive your own point home without taking into account what other people are saying. Here, have a reply though. I've said what I wanted to say, do what you will with what you've been told.I am just trying to explain myself and I take into account what others say, especially if based on evidence and educated discussion. Which does not seem to be what you like to do, since you ignore my points.
Come on more hate!! I'm loving this!

Congratulations to UK for making it to the final. It's nice to see that they finally made it.

Props to the shrewd Archer that was able to keep the UK team up and running until now though.
Now we have a new nice final. France is competing for the cup for the third time in a row. They have the experience and confidence to win their second consecutive title.
The question is: will UK be able to do a Leicester? 8)
Soon enough, we will see. Until then goodbye.

Shut up you dick. No one wants to hear it. UK fought well in my opinion, whether you meant the insulting nature or not you are a gimp; please don't comment on the inability or other nations if you can't reach the stage of the competition with your own. KAI THANX BYE.
I don't see the insulting nature of that post. At all. I saw two clear insults in your post, though.Congratulations to UK for making it to the final. It's nice to see that they finally made it.

Just what. What is even going on? UK is and always will be shit.
apart from Rhen (70-90+).
Okay erm WOW.
Everybody chill out, there is absolutely no need for all of this shit. I am very tempted to delete all of this "discussion" from the thread, because this is some seriously retarded shit.
Piccolomini has said what he had in mind. He has said it in a way that, I agree, could and probably should have been different, in order not to create tensions but well, what's done is done. Points have been given, silly insults have been thrown and autistic trolls have been trolling. If one more reply is posted to keep going on with this argument, I will simply delete it all from post 1.
If anyone is going to post a reply he must be respectful in it, towards all. If he's not gonna be, he simply has to refrain from posting. Thanks in advance.
If you have any request for that (probably last) media post, any cool thing I could put in it, please feel free to share your thoughts.
I think you should interview every UK member, that would be great
Just interview me then, you know i'm that important

- One person able to record the event in spectator, with a good quality (no lag, something close to a 720p youtube quality). - Two or more commentators able to speak a fluent and fully understandable english. They don't need to be 100% british, accents are not an issue as long as the video is fully understandable. - The commentators should be people relatively well known in the cavalry community, and have a good knowledge of it (what has happened previously in the CNC, who are the players of France and the United Kingdom, what special cavalry skills could be used by players on the field, and so on). |
I would volunteer to comment, though, if only to propose to Telnitz publicly, during a live transmission WOW SUCH ROMANTIC WOW MUCH HARLEQUIN
You do realize that having a person to record and a separate crew of commentators will probably result in a big mess, since the recording person will have his spectator camera entirely elsewhere than the people who comment the match for most of the time? So viewers will keep seeing X and hearing about Y.

The person who records the match can also be a commentator. The recorder could comment on what he or she sees, so the other comentators know what to talk about. I think it could be done without having too big of a mess to deal with :)

You guys are luck NA wasn't there ::)
Also, I have been wanting to point out something regarding my nationality, where some participators complained about me signing up for and playing for the BNL team. Just a lil' something for you all.
As some of you may know I started this CNC saying that it would probably be my last event in the NW community (you can still read it in the first page, I see no point in removing it). Well that was me thinking that the Cavalry League would still be hosted by Kanade Tachibana after the Summer break. Things turned out he's not gonna do it, and I have his blessing to take the project and carry it on. So, and some of you are already aware of it, it is very likely that I will host the next Cavalry Napoleonic Wars League (CNWL)
Things turned out he's not gonna do it, and I have his blessing to take the project and carry it on. So, and some of you are already aware of it, it is very likely that I will host the next Cavalry Napoleonic Wars League (CNWL), in September or October, after the Summer holidays.I have no particular project in mind now, it'd be way too early, and I also have no idea of the team I will try to gather to host such an event. But I do believe that I'm up for the task, and I'm confident I can make it as good as its previous hoster, for everyone to enjoy. I will, of course, look forward to having you all there when the time comes !I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say:
For now I will go back to leading the 4e Hussards and developping all kind of projects. I thank you once again for your replies, they were all very sweet to read. Enjoy yourselves !
Well said Tardet. Thanks to the organisers again for making this event possible.Haha mio amico :3
I am still waiting for Germany to win the Cup, though :D I think Germany has lots of very young players which are really skilled (mainly from Nr.6). I would have loved to see them winning. Maybe they have to get rid of a certain mentalitySpoilerArschloch-Mentalität :D[close]
First of all thank you Erik and Paula for creating such an amazing event!
It's been awesome participating in it, watching the matches and reading the interviews.
It was by far one of my best experiences in my NW time.
I recorded the last match if you want to take a look at it.
However due to some problems occuring in the recording there are some blackscreens throughout the video.
I hope that won't bother you too much while watching that amazing match.

Is there any hope for CNC 2017? :PDon't think so - at least not hosted by Erik.
