The United States of America - in the Year 1861. The Union and the Confederate States of America are at War.
Both sides fight in the biggest war on the american continent: The American Civil War 1861-1865!

The modification features the Battle of Manassas, which was the first big battle of the Civil War.
On July 21st, 1861 both armies clashed near Manassas junction and the river Bull Run. It should be the first and last battle of the war.

EXTENDED EDITION

In this extended edition, we added regiments and generals, which weren't active during the battle of Manassas. Due to the popularity and recent demands, we added some extra toys for you!

Notice: You have to manually put the files into your North and South First Manassas folder!
Overwrite when asked!




Instructions for full 1.1 client install

1) Run the downloaded file!

2) The installer should point out your correct Mount&Blade folder automatically. If its the wrong folder, please navigate yourself!

3) The installation path should end with \North and South First Manassas. If its a different folder, please make sure to edit!

4) Play the game and have fun!


Instructions for the manual 1.1 patch file

1) Download the .rar file and open it!

2) Inside the .rar file, you find a North and South First Manassas PATCH folder. Open this folder!

3) Open your North and South First Manassas folder, which is located in your MountBlade Warband / Modules folder!

4) Drag and drop the included patch files (and folders) into your North and South First Manassas folder!

5) Overwrite when asked!

The sharps are in since 1.0 and working the same.

In warband, you have a crossbow animation, which was replaced with muzzle reload and
Bow animation = revolver reload.

If you would assign the pistole animation to the sharps, they would be able to reload while moving. This would ban the unit in line battles. Beside that, they would need bad accuracy, to avoid them to be a OP unit.
Thats why they have the crossbow (muzzle load) animation, so they cant move while reloading.
You can take their support company and use the sharps carbine, to be able to run while reload.

So its a balancing reason as well as gameplay limits of warband.

IF you are able to make a breechloading animation yourself and if you are able to get such hardcoded files like crossbow/bow changed, I will add your suggestions ;)

I love my 1st Michigan Company K Native Sharps.    Oh BTW to everyone who think they are OP they are identical in stats to the Kentucky Sharps, even the Tomahawk is equal in stats to the Bowe Knife

Buck n' ball now has worse accuracy, I appreciate this. New German and Polish voices are also nice, but they are only for cheering, sadly. Commands like forward or follow me are still spoken in English.

Stats haven't changed at all.
The reloading was not touched as well as no other weapon stats, besides the Buck n' ball.
I nerfed the sharps rifles... but did not touch any other weapons.

Its not possible to add commands in other languages. Like in NW, the polish legion also has french commands.. or the KGL in english ;)

As all weapon stats are the same besides the Buck n' Ball the sharps are actually less op then they were. Their scoped springfield (accuracy of 92) was removed from use and replaced with the Kentucky rifle (accuracy of 87).

The Kentucky Sharps and the 1st Michigan Company K are equipped with either the Kentucky rifle (accuracy of 87) or the Hawkin Rifle (accuracy of 88). They are also equipped with either a Tomahawk or Bowie Knife (both have equal stats). The 1st Cherokee Scout and the private for the C.S. Reserve Troops are both equipped with the Kentucky rifle and are therefore classified as Sharpshooters.

The 1st US sharpshooters are equipped with the sharps rifle and a knife. (knife can't block and the sharps rifle was nerfed).

There is no winchester in Iron Europe, but there are winchesters in Anglo Zulu.

There is no winchester in Iron Europe, but there are winchesters in Anglo Zulu.

I was talking about Blood & Iron, not Iron Europe. There are revolvers, winchesters and breech loaders in Blood and Iron. Old America 1860 has revolvers, repeating rifles, breech loaders and muzzle loaders. Maybe they could check how Gabrilduro did it? I really think you should go for historical accuracy, and then see how you can balance.

Well most of it is historically accurate, one loading animation for 1 gun is not going to cause the devs to release an entire new patch. As Hinkle has to deal with WoR and some other things this will be the last update for NaS (at least for a while).

We attempted to fix the broken bear glitch while also fixing up some old ones. If your face was messed up you will just need to find the beard you use to have (it might have moved) or just make a new one. The beard problem is better but still not fully working

that shouldn't happen because we never touched the character creation stuff between the patches.

We attempted to fix the broken bear glitch while also fixing up some old ones. The beard problem is better but still not fully working

it's a warband problem introduced in a game update some time ago, before 1.0 and during development of 1.0 (when we added some new ones) the beards were fine. once again, there was no change to character accessories between versions, not only to keep people's characters from before, but so that they're compatible with the new B&I characters (NaS uses the new B&I hair, and B&I uses the NaS beards).

We attempted to fix the broken bear glitch while also fixing up some old ones. The beard problem is better but still not fully working

it's a warband problem introduced in a game update some time ago, before 1.0 and during development of 1.0 (when we added some new ones) the beards were fine. once again, there was no change to character accessories between versions, not only to keep people's characters from before, but so that they're compatible with the new B&I characters (NaS uses the new B&I hair, and B&I uses the NaS beards).

I do have to agree with Emperor_Palpatine00 , After installing the final version of the patch the beards did look different and I received multiple reports of the beards or people's characters appearing a little different then before.

Uhh no. That would totally suck. Besides it's seeing a female on the battlefield that really is interesting. Since obviously their weren't all female reg's and stuff. It's a shame really.

I remember Kanade Tachibana (hopefully I spelled this nickname correctly) made a mini-mod for NW that turned all women into men. Unfortunately, it seems that there isn't a N&S version of it.

Just need to get a few maps and I need someone to make some US army/ airborne   and some US marine corps uniforms. I also need an M1 Garand. DEAR LORD I need that gun.

Is there anywhere else the 1.1 file is uploaded? Currently in Russia, and MediaFire is blocked by a court order here due to malware files being previously hosted on it.

There are many important features and bugfixes for such a new patch. Of course I updated the loading screen for that too.
I will make a new update 1.2 just with a new loading screen too :p

Basicly a loading screen is not needed at all.  The community is aware of high quality :)

Whenever I run the launcher thing, it gives me the option to choose my language, and then I click OK, and It says I need the NW expansion, and I have that... help pls?

Start Mount & Blade: Warband and join a random Napoleonic Wars server. This way the installer will detect that you have the DLC installed. Now close down the game and try installing the mod again.
