Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

Studying Political Sciences, History, and Economics and still don't quite know what I want to do. I'm quite passionate about politics but everyone around me has been putting me down and telling me how there's no money in that field. I don't have a desire to earn the largest amount of money possible rather to make this world a better place for the societies that I am part of. So I basically have no idea what i'm doing.

Naval, army and Air Force officers out of OCS in the states make $70,000+ per year, not including everything else, they make way more than average graduates out of college

I hardly expect a second lieutenant to make 70k a year

I meant OCS as in the academies for each branch, https://www.forbes.com/pictures/mkl45egjff/7-united-states-military-academy-usma-at-west-point/
Not the actual OCS for people who already have a degree, or active duty E-5s+
