Well, that and notice how many mods are in "process" and how many are finished, and those just dying to couple of months ... The ideas are good, but better to unify some modders and take out a mod as God intended.

Well, I am a modding god myself and other gods are working on it, like olafson is helping too. So there couldnt be a better modding team then this :)
Look at the credit list.

Wow, Olafson, he is a dev of NW not? :D Good luck.

Didn't he narrate a documentary on Lincoln?

Are you going to implement the "turtle" formation in this mod or wasn't it used during the time?

It would pretty much rely on the players to do that...

In Gladius, the shields were held a certain way that prevented them from going over your head since they're huge. Maybe the crouch animation could be used to aim the shield up, Vikingr does something like this and keeps the shield up.

It could still be done, it was just limited. You can't get a perfect (and I use that word loosely) testudo with the Warband engine. You simply can't.

It might be possible to add two "modes" to a shield similar to the modes on a musket or thrown weapon. Switching modes could change the rigging as such that in the normal mode it's rigged for ordinary combat and in the Testudo-mode it's rigged as such that if one were to look straight up the shield would be horizontal. Just an idea.

Well, given that this is an NW mod and not a Warband mod, that's something I'm sure would be exploited fully. However, I'm pretty sure there's no toggling of function with shields. Looking at the shields in the screenshots, it doesn't seem likely for it to be included at all, given that it's not a Scutum (the shield that goes hand-in-hand with the formation), and instead, a Parma-like Republic-styled shield.

The Testudo wasn't used until the Marian Army Reforms.

That doesn't mean it won't be attempted by many of the players.

Instead of Legions, I think people should reserve whatever the equivalent of a regiment would be at this time (a cohort?). It would be a little unfair since this is one conflict and there's only so many legions to go around. Maybe the equivalent to N&S's divisions can be legions. XIII Gemina all the way!

Yes and is way after. Marius was around doing his thing in the early 100's BC

I assume that, as this is the Roman Civil War between the East and West, many a legion will be in this mod. Which is exciting, but personally, I'll probably have to play as one of my unoriginal favorite legions, the II Augustus or the XIII Gemina.

I derped out. The Marian Reform happened in the 700's BC, and this mod is set in the mid-early 100's BC. It's still relatively early for Rome, as this would the the end of the Roman Republic, and the start of the Roman Empire.
