If your getting ads where there aren't meant to be ads you should probably check your pc for ad wear.

yep, had that probelm. its a bad virus. it will eat up your memory or RAM until its fixed. AKA everything will run slower. much slower. games particularly affected.

for me it had to get professionally removed. but the money went to a good cause (getting my PC fixed :P ).

what happened to me was that within about a week my system memory in my system properties went down from 4GB to 2GB.

no idea what got on there but its fixed now after 2 overnight scans and another overnight removalage of whatever it was.

Sounds to be you got hit by spyware or malware. I'd use some frree anti-spyware tools and stay away from certain websites ;).

I get the 'ads not by this site'-stuff. I'm 100% convinced my brother got it onto the computer, but I'm clueless how to solve it.

The solution is simple: when you are downloading something the tiny lil' shit called ,,weDownload Manager 1.24.94" is installing as a plugin(in chrome) and spamming the shit out of you with ads. You should just delete this and that's all. In my and Czoło's case it helped.

Nuking any Chrome/Firefox plug in's help too. Those things get easily hacked and turned into Malware it is crazy.
