Can’t believe I’ve been away for so long that I get to see a an out in the open corrupt tournament! I just have a question…if Shaq had gone to the NBA when he and Kobe had beef and said “Yo I ain’t going to play because Kobe is playing” do you think they would have been like “ Yes Shaq whatever you want…Sorry Kobe you can’t play.” Wtf no.
You may be wondering wtf was this post. To give some clarity, someone from this community that wants to play and was ASKED to play in this tournament has been told they can’t because someone else doesn’t want them in the league cause they don’t like them. I usually don’t care what goes on here since it’s mainly comp events now and we have less than 100 people actively playing. But every now and then I hear the comment “I wish more people played” or “there’s not enough people for this league”….I am beginning to see why.
Let the guy play. Plain and simple. If we had acted this way since the comp scene started it would have died years ago. I think someone put it best about 4 years ago like this:

It definitely shows how hypocritical some of you are. I really do wish the best for most of you whether you hate me or like me. Truly this game provided plenty of great memories for everyone. Why would you tarnish the comp scene by doing this?
That’s all from me. I won’t post anything more here but I felt it was important for some of you to actually think about what and why you are doing what you do. At the end of the day it’s just a game which everyone should have the chance to enjoy.

We're just taking an entire argument out of context, mischaracterizing it and running with it. Cool and actually entirely expected.
The argument from 5 years ago was about banning "all people" who "went too far". My position on it was that A) going too far is a vague offense, if we're going to enforce banning people from the community we need to be able to come together as a community to agree explicitly on what constitutes as "going to far", so we're not just banning everyone who's ever offended anyone else within the community, because if we did that, the community would be non-existent. It wasn't a defense for people being able to make fun of suicide attempts, dead relatives/friends, doxxing, ddosing, medical conditions etc., and being able to continue to exist within the community with no consequences.
It was a statement that if we're going to ban people from the community we should come up with guidelines pertaining to what offenses are unacceptable, how many strikes do we give a person before we actually ban them, which offense carry what weight in the strikes. Which ties into my next point which was that B) We couldn't do that because the community was so large, with so many sub-communities and no remote semlance of unity that even if regiments/groups "ab&c" came together and said "if you do actions xyz, 3 times, you'll be permanantly banned from any event/tournament we host" regiments/groups "de&f" could easily come along and say "Well you can still play here" and negate the whole thing. Without at least a solid majority of regiments/groups agreeing to both a guideline and being willing to actually enforce it, not just on the players, but on the communities and players who helped those players circumvent the enforcement. And that's nothing to say of the pure volatility of regiment/group stability that historically existed within the community, regiments/groups "ab&c" might not even exist 2 weeks after agreeing to those guidelines, leaving no way to enforce them.
Basically, my issue 5 years ago was that I felt the term people were using ("going too far") was too vague for itself to be a bannable offense, and that there was no practical way to enforce any guidelines. My issue wasn't with the idea of ridding the community of people who consistently cross extremely personal lines with the goal of making another player feel as shitty as they possibly think they can. Doing it once, maybe a heat of the moment thing, doing it over multiple years at every opportunity is a character issue.

I haven't played NW in over a year consistently, besides coming back for those two small tournaments Soulja and James hosted (still got a higher placement than you even when I'm barely playing). I haven't done anything to you except shit talk you in chat every once and awhile because it's funny. You're an easy target, always have been. You go out of your way to block me out of everything you possibly can so I can't contribute to the game anymore. Sounds like you're the person who has a character problem. The game is already small enough, with hardly any good players. Why wouldn't you want an extra player? I firmly believe you struggle with power issues in real life and online. You can't do anything without throwing a fit if it doesn't go your way. You've always cried, that's why I make fun of you.
James originally invited me to this league offering me a spot to play, but quickly withdrew once I said I would play. He said, "I'm not sure if people are okay with you playing" so he suggested he ask all of the captains to see if they were okay with me playing, you're the only captain who wasn't (as far as I know). I guess that wasn't enough for James so he then lined up our track record (who left more leagues, who causes more problems, etc...) when none of that even matters. All in all he's not allowing me to play because you can't stand to be near me (LMFAO!). You are a grown man and you act like this over words on a screen? I've tried adding you on Steam, talking on Ts, and any other way to reach you so me and you could come to a meeting ground so it's not like this, but you refuse. That's on you. You're truly a victim card player, but I got to say, if your mission in life is to not ever let me playing a draft league in NW then good job! Let me just disspell the overarching theme of your post by stating, I couldn't care less what you say to or about me in game or in general. If what you said about me really bothered me, I would've muted you along with other people who say the same stuff. If you think this is about you calling me shitty ingame or saying something about me being 90 rated all time, or my KDR's or whatever, you're mistaken, none of that means anything to me. If any of that upset me, as you seem to think it does, I'd have issues with a lot more people than just you.

To give some clarity, someone from this community that wants to play and was ASKED to play in this tournament has been told they can’t because someone else doesn’t want them in the league cause they don’t like them. I usually don’t care what goes on here since it’s mainly comp events now and we have less than 100 people actively playing. But every now and then I hear the comment “I wish more people played” or “there’s not enough people for this league”….I am beginning to see why.

My position on it was that A) going too far is a vague offense, if we're going to enforce banning people from the community we need to be able to come together as a community to agree explicitly on what constitutes as "going to far", so we're not just banning everyone who's ever offended anyone else within the community, because if we did that, the community would be non-existent. It wasn't a defense for people being able to make fun of suicide attempts, dead relatives/friends, doxxing, ddosing, medical conditions etc., and being able to continue to exist within the community with no consequences.
It was a statement that if we're going to ban people from the community we should come up with guidelines pertaining to what offenses are unacceptable, how many strikes do we give a person before we actually ban them, which offense carry what weight in the strikes. Which ties into my next point which was that B) We couldn't do that because the community was so large, with so many sub-communities and no remote semlance of unity that even if regiments/groups "ab&c" came together and said "if you do actions xyz, 3 times, you'll be permanantly banned from any event/tournament we host" regiments/groups "de&f" could easily come along and say "Well you can still play here" and negate the whole thing. Without at least a solid majority of regiments/groups agreeing to both a guideline and being willing to actually enforce it, not just on the players, but on the communities and players who helped those players circumvent the enforcement. And that's nothing to say of the pure volatility of regiment/group stability that historically existed within the community, regiments/groups "ab&c" might not even exist 2 weeks after agreeing to those guidelines, leaving no way to enforce them.
Basically, my issue 5 years ago was that I felt the term people were using ("going too far") was too vague for itself to be a bannable offense, and that there was no practical way to enforce any guidelines. You may be wondering wtf was this post. To give some clarity, someone from this community that wants to play and was ASKED to play in this tournament has been told they can’t because someone else doesn’t want them in the league cause they don’t like them. I usually don’t care what goes on here since it’s mainly comp events now and we have less than 100 people actively playing. But every now and then I hear the comment “I wish more people played” or “there’s not enough people for this league”….I am beginning to see why.
Let the guy play. Plain and simple. If we had acted this way since the comp scene started it would have died years ago. I think someone put it best about 4 years ago like this:

We're just taking an entire argument out of context, mischaracterizing it and running with it. Cool and actually entirely expected.
The argument from 5 years ago was about banning "all people" who "went too far". My position on it was that A) going too far is a vague offense, if we're going to enforce banning people from the community we need to be able to come together as a community to agree explicitly on what constitutes as "going to far", so we're not just banning everyone who's ever offended anyone else within the community, because if we did that, the community would be non-existent. It wasn't a defense for people being able to make fun of suicide attempts, dead relatives/friends, doxxing, ddosing, medical conditions etc., and being able to continue to exist within the community with no consequences.
It was a statement that if we're going to ban people from the community we should come up with guidelines pertaining to what offenses are unacceptable, how many strikes do we give a person before we actually ban them, which offense carry what weight in the strikes. Which ties into my next point which was that B) We couldn't do that because the community was so large, with so many sub-communities and no remote semlance of unity that even if regiments/groups "ab&c" came together and said "if you do actions xyz, 3 times, you'll be permanantly banned from any event/tournament we host" regiments/groups "de&f" could easily come along and say "Well you can still play here" and negate the whole thing. Without at least a solid majority of regiments/groups agreeing to both a guideline and being willing to actually enforce it, not just on the players, but on the communities and players who helped those players circumvent the enforcement. And that's nothing to say of the pure volatility of regiment/group stability that historically existed within the community, regiments/groups "ab&c" might not even exist 2 weeks after agreeing to those guidelines, leaving no way to enforce them.
Basically, my issue 5 years ago was that I felt the term people were using ("going too far") was too vague for itself to be a bannable offense, and that there was no practical way to enforce any guidelines. Some quick updates for this tournament:one final thing to note is that each team will be playing each other twice in the bracket due to it being 5 teams, so instead of 4 matches, there will be 8.
There will only be five captains allowed, and the 5th seeded team will miss playoffs. Captains for said five teams are still being decided on, and I hope to have more sign-ups!
The draft format will be seeing each captain receiving a first-round pick based on their draft order (basically, the first overall pick won't have a first-round pick again until the 6th round once everyone has gotten a first-round pick.)
Due to the low sign-ups, there will not be a League 2. I know this is somewhat unfortunate, but League 2 would realistically be a 2v2 league, and I find that very unappealing. Since each team will have seven players, every player should get relative playing time in scrims and matches themselves, and seeing League 2 players who performed well get that jump into League 1.
With the draft not being done this Sunday due to some of the potential captains being unable to make it, the draft day is still in the works, but it should get done by next week to get this league up and going. So the deadline for sign-ups will be moved to whenever that day is to give players more time to sign up if they are still 50/50.

Even if everyone doesn't get to play, at the very least let everyone get drafted. Shit's discouraging when you don't get drafted, which is a reason people don't sign up for future stuff. If L2 doesn't happen, might want to also consider making it a 6v6 so more people can play, but allow it to be a 5v5 in the instances a team can't bring enoughill still keep it at 5v5 but in terms of the draft we will keep going until everyone is on a team.

So I was actually going against the majority decision until I found out other people were going to not want to sign up, drop from the league, or just basically didn’t want you in because of what you have done. So yes I made the decision to not allow you to play. I’m sorry that you are very hurt and are acting the way you are about this but don’t sit here and shit post me or others because you can’t accept that your actions have finally caused you some consequences.
