Good day messieurs and mesdames! And welcome to the CNWL Gazette, the weekly newspaper about your favorite tournament!
Today on the menu, the interview of Zahari, leader of the 14. Pułk Kirasjerów, as well as a regimental article on the 7e Régiment de Hussards.

The Interview - Zahari

Spoiler
Nerza : Welcome Zahari and thanks for answering my questions today.
First of all, would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?

Zahari : Hey, as you know I'm leading the new 14pk. I'm 21 this year and I'm from Poland, that's quite obvious right? I started playing with MMRussia in 2011 and since then I still remain as an active player.

Nerza : How do you feel about this season? Are you excited?

Zahari : I'm really excited, both leagues look even. Of course there are some main candidates for the 1st place but many teams seem to present equal skill level.

Nerza : And what about your regiment?

Zahari : As you already said, 14pk is composed of veterans, though only three of us were in the old 14pk (Ghazi - better known as Damian in the past, lysy890 and myself). The rest of the players come from old polish regiments like 1ps and 4pp. We also have few native players and of course some new faces like Hawrił and Michnicki.

Nerza : The 14pk has been quite discrete these months, we don't hear about you that much except if we dig a bit, is this on purpose?

Zahari : All major events in regiment's life have been shared on our FSE topic and our members keep posting aftermatch screenshots on steam each time we have a 1v1, we're only discrete when it comes to our erotic bonds with Dokletian and Cage.

Nerza : Right... that's a story you'll have to tell me!

Zahari : Okay, but now being a little bit more serious. We don't have any official roster because we just don't need it, we have a steam group and everyone can check it. We don't make any special kind of updates on our FSE thread because we don't have anything to share really. Promotions are very rare and since our reborn, I have promoted only 1 person.

Nerza : This year welcomes another heavy cavalry regiment in League 1, the 1erRC, what do you think of this opponent? Do you think it can be a dangerous one?

Zahari : It's a very hard enemy to beat. We played against them twice, we lost our 1st match and we won the 2nd. Both matches were very close (4-6, 6-4) and I think that the community really underrate them and they are for sure a tough nut to crack.

Nerza : What make them so difficult to beat?

Zahari : Their teamplay is really good. It's just hard to figure out a good strategy to counter that.

Nerza : Do you think you have trained enough and are ready for this season?

Zahari : I hope so. We will see how it goes but I'm optimist.

Nerza : Any other particular opponent(s) that you may be eager to face this year?

Zahari : I really want to face 7e. It's been a while since we played against them.

Nerza : What about which match you would like to see the most this season?

Zahari : Nr6 definitely. These matches are always tense, exciting, full of emotions and come backs.

Nerza : Thank you for your time Zahari.

Zahari : Thank you as well.

The 7e Régiment de Hussards, or the story of a Phoenix

Spoiler
A lot of people know the 7e, but only a few know the story behind probably the oldest regiment of the cavalry community.
A story starting back seven years and a half ago, with people now long gone for some, at a time where our favorite game was just a new playground to bleed out.
A story of victories, mistakes and courage. A story of rise, fall and rebirth.

We are in early 2011, the 7e is newly born followed soon by the IVe Corps, the structure directly comes from the extra manpower.
Nothing much happens till 2012 when the regiment starts to get its first results and seems to head toward competition.
And at the horizon of 2013, the regiment while going strong will take its first punch to the belly with the 8e split.
We are in March 2013 and due to internal problems, players such as Norajh, Lubukill or Telnitz will leave the regiment with few others to create the 8e Régiment de Hussards.
But the regiment is young and still strong, this punch was nothing that could not be handled.
Therefore the regiment kept fighting and lost only one match over fourteen this year.
The regiment still rise and probably reach its golden age in 2014 with only one defeat over twenty matches, in addition of the 1st CNWL 1st League title.
The Phoenix seems to have conquered the skies.

However, every good things have an end.
In December 2014 following new internal problems, the regiment will experience the pain of another split.
From this one the 5e Régiment de Hussards, one of the most deadliest regiment that the community will know, was born.
The blow was hard to take on this time and it is badly wounded that the regiment still fight until March 2015.
At this moment, it is a one step in the grave regiment, badly wounded, taking its final hit.
In March 2015, the 7e will live through its last split.
A split leading to the advent of what will become the terrible and undefeated 4e Régiment de Hussards.
Mostly due to mistakes from the Major Staff of the IVe Corps over the 7e, in addition of still ongoing internal problems from the 5e split,
players like Erik le Rouge, Sukesa or Enderby left the regiment.
In four months, the regiment had lost most of its staff and around half of its active enlisted men.
What remained therefore was only a crippled regiment, expiring its last breaths.
The Phoenix fatally hit, had fallen from the skies.

The year 2015 was just like crossing a desert, hoping to find an oasis who does not exist.
The regiment was barely alive, but the remaining members didn't give up as well as the IVe Corps, who could not accept to lose such an emblem.
Therefore it kept going on, and as the saying is : we reap what we sow.
In March 2016 a young but quite resourceful regiment, the 2e Régiment de Hussards decides to merge with the 7e with a simple idea in mind :
to restore glory to its name.
And the least we can say it is they tried their best to achieve that by fighting twenty-two matches over 2016 while losing only eight of them.
But the regiment was not stable yet, minor troubles where still there shaking the legs of the healing structure.
It led to mixed results in 2017 with only ten victories over twenty-three matches played.
That year was also the renewal of the roster coming from the merge with the 2e, with the departure of players such as Napoleonswar, Saunier or Drast.
Accordingly, new or old players also (re)joined such as Remao, Wolf or Adelon, bringing a new fresh air to the roster.
Nowaday, the 7e roster is largely reduced compared to previous years but the regiment seems to have managed to stabilize itself again.
Last results point into that direction with quite a lot of victories.
From its ashes, will the Phoenix rise again?

To conclude, the 7e has been around for now nearly seven years and a half. It is a name that everyone knows here.
It has been a very stable structure its four first years while experiencing three splits including two major one who will nearly end it.
Despite a year of stand-by following the storm, the last two years have proven how tenacious the regiment can be even with remaining clouds and new people leading it.
It also been an example for many regiments until its golden age, inspiring structures to give the best of themselves while promoting competition.
And not only structures, but also men. The 7e has been clearly a school to some regimental leaders.
Leaders such as Balian (9e), Erik (4e), Sukesa (4e), Exofrance (5e), Peponi (5e), Norajh (8e), Lubukill (8e), Telnitz (8e) were part of the 7e at some point and for sometime.
Without the 7e, the cavalry community would have been really different today, with great regiments who would have never existed.
In the end, the 7e is also a bit like a grandpa', it knew victory and glory, defeat and despair.
It made mistakes but also brought strength and knowledge to people, as well as being the one to follow.
It has seen it all, the births and deaths of other structures, participated in all cavalry tournaments since day one, has been the base camp for so many players.
Even now it still knows how to shoot, ready to face anyone who wants to oppose a challenge with a deadly teamplay and good slayers.
Never in the history of our cavalry community, such a structure has been so constant and remained here for so long.
And the least for that, is to respect this name for all it has achieved and represents.

- Nerza
Thanks to Sukesa and Bocom for some details.

Bumperino amigos!
Tonight we tied the 7thQO, quite some improvements from their side tbh, was a really good 1v1!  ;D
We finally ended our streak of defeats ( 3 in a row damn  ::)) even if it's on a tie, hopefully we will do better tomorrow for our first CNWL match this year.
We'd like to welcome to the regiment xBlack and Griff as well even if it's been quite a time they've joined us now.

RIP us... It's safe to say we were not on top form that day. We are looking forward and are eager for the next one though.

I hope you guys are! Would be a shame to see you give up so quickly  ;)

Good day ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Weekly Bulletin, the weekly article talking about the weekly matches!
First of all, good luck to every regiments participating to this fifth season of the CNWL, I hope you will all find the competition enjoyable.
Speaking of competition, monday rang the starting bell of the tournament and some of us were apparently eager to fight to the point they could not wait more than the first day.
The Nr4 and the 33rd Cavalry therefore opened this season, and the least we can say is that Nr4 clearly entered the tournament quite angry and ready for this League 2, as they defeated the 33rd with a harsh 10-0.

League 1 will start this first week with quite interesting matches as 7e against Nr6.
Actually the 7e has been cutting its way through L1 regiments for a couple of months now, with an improved and coordinated teamplay.
The regiment has defeated the Nr6, 1eRC and 5e (twice) over the two last months, bringing a smell of good old days upon this new season!
On the other hand, despite their previous defeat against 7e, Nr6 remains a fearless enemy who has already proven how strongly it can bite, in addition of recent victories against 14pk or 6te Kav as well as a tie against 8th, all L1 regiments.

Another match seems worth talking about and it is 5e against 14pk.
Both regiments have returned the last months and both have been quite discrete on their results and members.
Preparing the tournament, both have trained but one seem particularly in trouble.
The 5e is having, it seems, difficulties to get back on track with defeats against the 9e, the 7e or the 14pk in the recent weeks.
But let's not forget that 5e is also the regiment that has managed to tie twice on three the undefeated regiment since its creation, therefore three years, the 4e Hussards.
It's an opponent you don't want to underestimate with its number of veterans and experienced players who can outplay any unprepared enemies.
The 14pk is also quite the same, composed of veterans of the community, the 14pk is a name that only young players cannot know.
Every "old" member of the cavalry community knows the 14pk as probably being one of the most deadliest heavy cavalry regiment on the game.
However it was few years back now, will the 2018 14pk be able to cover its name of glory again? We will most likely get the answer in the weeks to come!

osef 212e > all

72

73
Only FR je pense pas qu'il y ait assez de reg

In addition of the server problems, after talking with some leaders from group B, the map isn't that good either which led to quite boredom.
It is simply too little and for all classes, hussars for example cannot use their speed at all, the map is so little you need to constantly slow down to turn around.
Also the system is a bit too much as well, 4 groups of 5 with a match a week would have been better but it is just my personnal opinion.
To conclude I guess for a first tournament, it could have been way worst so gj  ;)

Teams involved: 10th vs 14pk
Time and date: None - we give the match to 14pk, we're unable to find a date because of 10th schedule in addition of quite boredom from our team for 5v5 matches.
