The Grand Campaign ~ Economy system V1.0

THE CAMPAIGN MAP
[/img]
[close]
The picture above is just a image of the actual website, so people can keep track on FSE about troop movement aswell. On the website you can see info of troops, countrys etc by pressing them

The map is dynamic, and troop movement will be shown on this map and on the wesbite. ( Which will be given on a later date )
This map has been modified so you can see troop information and troop movement. I can also change the land colours really easily. Thanks to my brother and Aksei!

The Grand campaign
The grand campaign is a web-based campaign map, as we know in games as the total war series, europa universalis and so on. But much more simpler.

See the campaign like this: in total war games, you move your army to attack another army or siege a city. If such a thing happens in here, by one of the generals / goverments, then the 2 armies will fight in mount & blade: napoleonic wars. But as a campaign like this can't run without an economy system we are also busy creating such systems.

At the end, everything will be written out. Rules, events, incomes, trade, regiments and so on. So no misunderstatements will occur, because we won't spend all this time just to provoke a huge flame war / fight.

The signup system will work like this: regiment nr. 1 likes regiment nr. 2, they decide to sign up for this event together as France. The general / ruler of France sees the application and has enough manpower / money to afford two more regiments. He can either raise a new army called like XVI corps or he can put those regiments within another army. Because we know alot of friend politics might be going on we will carefully chose the rulers.

This is all the information we can provide for now, because it's very much work in progress.

This won't start soon.

Update:

I'm actively searching for a team.

Besides that, some new information on the map:

> You can see an army as a circle on the map. Each region has 1 position where the army can stand. ( due the limits of the coding for now, might gets expanded later )
> If you go to our official website ( not given out yet ) then you can click on one of those armies, and you'll be abled to see the name, the regiments within, amount of troops ( inf, cav, arty ) and the amount of manpower.
> When a army moved, you'll be abled to see a red striped line behind the army in order to see where the army came from.
> For the admins it's very easy to move / remove / create armies, so no overwork for us!
> There are serveral non-faction such as Sweden, Naples, Italy, Bavaria, Netherlands -> But we might chose a regiment to play as those faction ( defensive ), spain however, might be a major-faction later on.

Futuristic updates: ( optional, no promises )
> Economy system, graphicly aswell ( gold / iron / bronze etc )
> Trade ports & routes
> More places an army can be in a bigger region  >> will not be done
> Fight marker on the campaign map
> Longer traveling time ( not instant in terms of graphics )
> Sea's, for fancy naval battles!

Update II

Another small update:

We added country information on the map, among the ability to click country's as a whole now ( even with a nice transparant layer over the country when moving over it ).

The general idea now is this: ( as country information )

- Fort Level
- Garrisson
- Income
- Manpower
- Special ( for instance: mountains, plain, gold mine, iron mine, rich region etc )

Update III

Added alot of independent nations ( to be conquered by bigger nations ).
* Poland
* Denmark
* Bavaria
* Saxony
* Italy
* Sweden
* Naples
* Portugal
* Swiz
* Netherlands

Update IV:

~ Finished trade route. 95% ( never sure ) finished colourizing the country's aswell. (95% again)
~ My brother is now working on army battles etc, and allied armies > If 2 allies stand on the same country the circle gets seperated into 2 colours > goes up to 4 colours.
~ We're trying to start of on the economy system.

Update V:

~ Ottoman empire done > needs to be uploaded onto the map.
~ All trade routes completed
Spoiler
[close]

~ Armies are working again
~ Soon the armies will be split up ( visually ) on the map, when countries are allied. Like the icon on the map is split as a cake. The more men 1 nation has in the army, the more % it will display in the circle. ( Hard to explain > you'll see short enough )
> Ships will soon be added, trading purpose only for the start

> We're still working on the economy, attrition, upgrades, regiments, army, movement, country systems.

Not sure I entirely understand what the intention is here, but like NuttyPig said if this is what I think it is - I'm hooked!

This is just a campaign, but as we made the map dynamic. And someone edited the usefull map Aksei released. There will be a lot of features, for less work. So this campaign does finish. ;)

I've seen quite a few of these campaigns, unfortunately most of them failed do to poor structure and keeping up with everything. This looks very promising though!

Hope it plays out well. :D

Been awhile for us, last campaign we did was Battle of the Colonies in 2010.
“Ego is a structure that is erected by a neurotic individual who is a member of a neurotic culture against the facts of the matter. And culture, which we put on like an overcoat, is the collectivized consensus about what sort of neurotic behaviors are acceptable.” -Terence McKenna
