We are the 41st Royal Welsh Invalids, we strive to create an active and friendly community around our regiment in Mount & Blade Napoleonic Wars. To us, it is more about enjoying ourselves throughout our battles and have a good time, rather then feel restricted by harsh discipline. We will be training and playing as both line and light-infantry, to ensure variation and enjoyment. History of the regimentThe 41st Royal Welsh Invalids was first raised in 1719 by Edmund Fielding. He drew its troops from independent companies of invalids - those otherwise considered too ill, old or injured for active service. To these he added men who received a pension from the Royal Hospital Chelsea but lived in their own homes, known as out-pensioners.
Until 1787 the unit was garrisoned in the naval base of Portsmouth. But in 1812, the unit was sent to Canada to take part in the War of 1812, in which it gained four of it's eleven batlle honours. It took part in the battle of Detroit and fought on board ship at the Battle of Lake Erie in September 1813.
In the 1820s it fought in Burma and in 1831 it was finally given a territorial title, becoming the 41st (Welch) Regiment of Foot.
Service during the 1st Afghan War (1839-42) followed, including Kanadahar, Guznee and Kabul. The regiment then saw action in the Crimean War (1854-56). It gained battle honours for the Alma, Inkerman and Sevastopol, won two Victoria Crosses and brought home its first ever goat mascot, a tradition continued by all its successor regiments.
