Thought I've always had a bit of respect for Israel in that sense, they've survived nearly impossible odds. Of course they had help from the Americans and the Brits, so that balanced the scales a bit.

I know, sarcasm. America's help has pretty much been the only string guaranteeing their independence since the very beginning. I bet if America somehow couldn't afford to pay them or we realized the Middle East wasn't nearly as important as we thought it was and we pulled out, Israel would be gone within the month.

Or more likely they'll just all be evicted and they'll fan out throughout Europe and North America. The Holocaust was such a unique event in the face of history that I seriously doubt it would happen again in the same way if Israel were to fall. Antisemitism has been recorded very well throughout history, and something on the scale of the holocaust has only happened once. More likely it would play out more like the Reconquista. Still very bad, but not eliminationist like the Holocaust was.

I'm not worried about a Holocaust scenario, once the Arab-Israeli conflict is settled almost all of this anti-Semitic bullshit will die off. What I worry about is a reconquista scenario like you stated, which is something that the Israelis don't deserve.

If the Israelis (us, for the sake of it) actually get split in Europe and North America, there will be big riots, caused by the Neo-Nazis. There are a lot of anti-Semites in the world. More then we think.

As far as I know Israël is a democratic country, therefore the people elect the government of their choice. So apparently, not everyone wants peace in Israël.
