The Napoleonic Wars Champions League is a League based competition involving 16 Napoleonic Wars Regiments. Starting off there are 4 groups. Group A, Group B and Group C & D. In each group there are 4 Regiments. The top 2 winners from groups A, B and C proceed into a quarter final then a semi-final. The 2 winners of the semi-finals will then face off against one another in a "Grand Final!". The winning regiment of that final will win a cash prize of £50!

The servers for this event will be provided by the TopHatServers and will offer no lag and 100% smooth running of the league. There will be a total of 3 custom maps that will be compulsory to play on (to avoid biased maps etc) Along with this each man will be issued only 8 volleys per round thanks to a helpful script to ensure that we get a equal balance of shooting and melee and all round skill. Everything is to play for with a £50 cash prize on the line for your regiment so sign up now and join the Napoleonic Wars Champions League! We will explore the idea of adding a leaderboard.

If you want more information regarding the competition format, rules etc add [59th] Kaide Wolf on Steam or [59th] Krytenn We aim to start mid-September and finish by the end of October.

The current melee system is noticeably worse than the previous version. Any chance we can have the old one back?

Was there any reason to add the Army of the Rhine? I mean, Germans already have Austria and Prussia to wet themselves. Surely having the Ottomon Empire would have added more flavour? Imagine camels and sworded infantry! Alot of Turks play NW too.

My rant over. Give us a kebab!

Introduction
The 59th Regiment of Foot community was founded in October 2013, We are one of the largest and most diverse regiments and communities in the game with three companies with a range of roles and skills. We are a British Line Infantry, Rifleman and Cavalry Regiment. Although being British we are pleased to continue accepting recruits from over 20 countries. Our aim is to create a regiment that will provide a professional but enjoyable Napoleonic Wars experience for all kinds of players whilst still retaining the ability to triumph over our enemies through discipline, skill and determination. Whilst we aim to be a well disciplined regiment, this should not interfere with us having fun. A high level of discipline will lead to improved trainings which in turn will lead to more enjoyable line battles through an increase of performance and skill in the field.

In the eyes of history

Formed in 1755 in response to the threat of renewed war with France, the 59th from the start saw great service, fighting in its first war (the Seven Years War) in that very same year under the rank of the 61st Regiment of Foot, they were later re-ranked to the 59th Regiment of Foot following the disbandment of the 50th and 51st regiments in 1756. Shortly after its formation, the regiment moved from England to Ireland where it would perform garrison duty until 1763 when it would set sail for Nova Scotia (Canada province) until 1772 when they stationed in Boston, Massachusetts. The 59th were in Boston during the start of the American War of Independence and fought bravely despite suffering severe casualties. The remains of the regiment returned to England in 1776 to reform until 1782 when in the closing stages of the Anglo Spanish War, the 59th were assigned to Gibraltar and remained there for ten years. In 1782 the regiment would once again see an update to its name, this time as a result of county designation which caused the 59th to be known as the 2nd Nottinghamshire.

Although being a well travelled and experienced regiment already the 59th still had one final major war to play a part in. The 59th once again returned to Spain in 1808 and in 1809 took part in the Battle of Corunna a key tactical victory which allowed the evacuation of British forces from the Iberian peninsula. After returning home to England the 59th were dispatched once more to the Netherlands mid 1809 to aid the fruitless Walcheren Campaign. The 59th would then return to England and Ireland until 1812 setting sail one last time for Spain taking part in 5 key battles, the Battle of Vittoria, the Siege of San Sebastian, the Battle of the Bidassoa, the Battle of Nivelle and the Battle of the Nive.
The 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot would see out the remainder of the Napoleonic Wars based in Ireland until arriving at Waterloo in 1815, however they did not partake in the hostilities

Community / Kaidism in NW
« on: November 22, 2014, 05:12:06 am »
All the Admins and Moderators that currently work for the FSE forums have an open & public agenda to silence Kaide. Despite me being cleared and forgiven by old boy Vine. Tiki, Appllo & Blob are actively seeking to ban me. Slimy NW cunts are spearing them on. Eagerly fueling the anti-Kaide policy. Any man who speaks against the FSE team is struck down. Anti-Kaidism must end in NW. These unnatural moderators will silence any one who opposes them. My thread has been threatened with being taken down due to British Commonwealth history offending others. All legends meet the axe and get banned sooner or later. RIP to LameHorse, Sven, Tavington, Dainel, Schneider who will all put to the sword. RIP to those forgotten heroes lost in the pages of NW. Information has been leaked that I will soon be banned.

For the people of NW Unite.

General Discussion / The end of Conventional game modes?
« on: November 04, 2014, 02:29:39 am »
Has there been a general shift in how players engage in NW game play? As the conventional NW game modes appear to have lost their touch apart from a few notables. I no longer see giant battle servers that can attract large player bases to join. I dont often see the official NW get popular either. Servers which use an existing game mode added with scripts to create a new game type seem to be keeping the NW public player base alive. Such as Human v Bots which is not an actual game type but has edited the commander bot system with scripts to make it human v bots. I've also seen a remarkable swing to full on role play servers. For instance the 59th Jailbreak attracts a large player base when given the correct attention by the admins. Scrips have been added and are still being improved upon. The idea of escaping out of prison, rising up to freedom seems to of attracted ultra-Role Players.

My new server, the 59th latest addition 'Napoleonic Wars Role Play' is truly amazing. The NWRS has come up with new game types such as storming the palace which requires a team to defend the a general while the other team kills him is amazing. The round wins if the general is killed. Another game type which is popular is Hostage rescue. These are great game types which attracts 100s of players regularly. I think if NW is ever improved or in BCF we should have some extra game types. State your opinions ladies.

Servers / The Napoleonic Roleplay Server
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:08:53 am »

The Napoleonic Roleplay Server was set up to provide an alternative experience to NW's dedicated community, and cater to the demands of those seeking the more serious of NW's historic gameplay.
Set up in early 2014, we aimed to provide the highest quality of Roleplaying over a great variety of Roleplays and maps to the players who frequent our server. These do not necessarily have to be peaceful, such as Town RP and Prison RP, but often include RPing specific battles or scenarios on custom maps designed from scratch with them in mind. New suggestions from our player base are being noted down, and are often implemented with a custom scene and set of rules. Over time, we have expanded upon the theme of Roleplaying, with new, interesting additions being made, such as the more recent Hostage Rescue and Storming the Palace Roleplays. It is certain that we offer the NW community an unparalleled set of modes, designed for those who desire a more controlled, thematic experience of the Napoleonic era on Warband.

Some Screenshots of the Roleplays we currently offer:
All were taken over the course of the last week.

Rules are vital for keeping order wiithin any public or private server, and are essential on such a large server with a focus on strict roleplay. Often, we are accused of trying to shape the game in a way that we like it by "enforcing roleplay", but that (RP) is the primary focus of the server, and so players should be prepared to learn and obey slightly more complex rules (which will obviously differ from roleplay to roleplay) in order to keep within its boundaries and so improve their own experiences, as well as the game of their fellow gamers.

No Personal Attacks against another player, for whatever reason, in either team or global chat.

No Spamming either the global or team chat - since this is Roleplay, both are vital for players to be able to communicate, and spam only impedes this and ruins the immersion.

No Insulting the Admins for whatever reason, especially when unprovoked - it only displays your ingratitude for their voluntary service and dilutes the validity of the point you are trying to get across.

Follow the Admin(s)' orders at all times, especially when they are related to the rules and your conduct within the game.

Do not Spam TNT - Spamming TNT for no purpose is considered a waste of buildpoints at the very least, or can be considered trolling if the player tries to teamkill his own teammates or destroy their fortifications. Some maps have TNT disabled. Please Use TNT with great moderation.

No Racism, Bigotry, Misogeny or other form of discrimination - please let your real-life differences aside, and focus on playing the actual game in an 18th century context

Historically-accurate names, which are relevant to the RP being played (such as Adolf_Hitler for D-Day RP), are allowed. However, names which aim to offend others explicitly (such as "Gas_The_Jews") will not be tolerated. The admin may choose to kick you after warning you to change your name, so that you will change it immediately. Coming back with the same name after a kick may result in a ban.

Be Mature and Civilised! Perhaps the most important rule, which links to every single one above. Be calm and respectful of others, try to immerse yourself into the setting, and, above all, try to enjoy your time on  the server!

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Concept (May vary from game to game, as per the players' or the admins' wishes): The invading or occupying forces have come to town, so how will the townsfolk greet them? After a superficial period of tranquility, it seems that trouble is brewing, which may even lead to Revolt against the colonialists!
Rules:
No revolt before 57:00 (Time may be changed accordingly at the admin's discretion)
1:2 Ratio UK/France/Prussian to Russia
All Russians must take partisani class. Any militias are K.O.S.
Russians may keep their tools for working. Any firearms require permits, to be obtained from the Occupiers
Random punching or kicking may result in the offender being imprisoned, or stabbed.
The Occupiers may take a General or Officer, to act as Governor of the town.
<More rules, as long as they are reasonable, can be imposed "live" in the game itself by the British/ French/ Prussians>
[close]

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Concept: The Huge British and French armies faced each other off at Waterloo. The tense atmosphere could not be unnoticed. But would this encounter be solved by diplomacy and negotiations, or War?
Rules:
Each Nation must have a Commander, picked by the admins before the round is "live". He/She will take General class. The other troops are expected to listen to his commands. A Second-In-Command (2iC) is a good failsafe, in case the General dies.
Each Nation may additionally have other Officers, for Infantry, Cavalry or Artillery. They are in charge of just their detachment, and also have to listen to the orders their Commander gives them at all times.
The Commanders must negotiate and take their positions in the forts before declaring War. War can only be declared by Generals. Anyone attacking or killing before War can expect a severe punishment, and the victim can expect to be healed.
If the round is dragging for two long (usually when one of the teams is camping), the admin can order an "All Charge", in which case they team must charge immediately, or be slain.
Killing Musicians and/or Surrenderers is unaccpeptable, and will result in a slay at least. Those who surrender are expected to drop their weapons. If the musicians and/or surredered are the only ones left, they are to be executed via firing squad.
Sappers are allowed to build sapper forts to defend their troops.
Artillery is allowed. It must start firing after War is declared, like all other troops.

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Concept: The 18th and 19th centuries were often decided on the high seas. Who will achieve Naval Superiority?
Rules:
Both teams take Ship Crew Classes, which include Sailor, Marine, Captain, and Naval Artillery. Musicians are to be disabled.
Both teams are to attack the others, and aim to kill. Surrenderers may be killed before the round is close to ending
Any intentional delaying will result in the person being slain to end the round
Trolling, such as pushing people off boats or firing shells to sink friendly ships is unacceptable
The admin may slay the remaining players if he deems that them getting to each other will take too long
[close]

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Concept: Our General has been abducted! We must get him back!
Rules:
The Attacker's (Russian) General is teleported inside the Fort/House/Palace. He must dismount and drop his weapons. He will be escorted to a room, and guarded. Meanwhile, the Russians will attack the fort, aim to free their General and kill all the guards.
The Attackers win when all the Brits have been killed, or their General escorted back to spawn, whichever happens first!
The Defenders win if they manage to kill all the attackers!
The Attackers must take militia or partisani classes only!
The Defenders can take any infantry classes available. A sapper is useful for locking the General in.
The Defenders can only kill the General if he attempts to escape, or finds a weapon and attacks them
.
[close]

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Concept: They had enough. The brutal oppression the Russians had suffered under their masters had to come to an end... one way or the other...
Rules:
The Attackers aim to invade the Palace, find, and kill the General. The Defenders have to defend him at all costs. If the Defender General dies, the Attackers win, even if other defenders are still alive and fighting.
Ratio 1:2 Defenders: Attackers
Defenders may take any infantry troop they like. They must have a General, who should immediately dismount and hide inside the Palace along with his troops.
Defenders may take engineers to block entrance to the attackers and defend their General.
Attackers should take either Russian Partisani or Militia classes. Regular rankers are not allowed for the rebels!

[close]

Spoiler

Gamemode: Battle
Rules:
Each side must listen to the C.O. in charge, and obey his/her commands. Having a Second-In-Command (2iC) is also useful. The C.O. and 2iC must be Officers.
Cavarly and Artillery may be or not be allowed, depending on the map, and the player counts
It is recommended that both teams/ sides take the same troop class, for the sake of uniformity and realism
Flag-Bearers and Musicians can be killed, just like any enemy troop. No surrendering!
The admin may choose to slay or reset the map if he sees that the round is delaying too much.
The admin may choose to create a theme in the Linebattle, such as "Russian Revolution" (where militias fight grenadiers) or other similar ideas.
[close]

Spoiler
Gamemode: Battle or Siege
Concept: After years of tyrannical Nazi rule, the Allie gathered on the beaches of Normandy, prepared. History would be written in due course...
Rules:
About 1:2 or 2:3 Ratio Defenders to Attackers
Defenders are Prussian (it is recommended that they take Freikorps class if infantry), while the Attackers are British, who may take any class they wish.
Artillery is allowed for both teams, and is recommended escpecially for Prussia
Prussia may take Engineers to  build fortifications and defend its position
The Round is won either when the flag has been captured by the British (Siege Mode), or until the Prussian commander has been killed (Battle Mode)

The 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1755 in response to the threat of renewed war with France. On 23 December 1755 Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Montagu raised the 61st Regiment of Foot in the counties of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Following the disbandment of two junior regiments, the 61st was renumbered as the 59th Regiment of Foot in the following year.

Shortly after its formation, the regiment moved from England to Ireland, where it performed garrison duty until 1763. In that year the 59th Foot sailed to Nova Scotia where they remained until 1772 when they stationed in Boston, Massachusetts. The 59th were in Boston when the American War of Independence broke out, and suffered severe casualties. The remains of the regiment returned to England in 1776 to reform.

In 1782, the closing stages of the Anglo Spanish War, the 59th were assigned to the Gibraltar garrison, remaining there for ten years. From 1792–1794 the regiment was based in England and the Channel Islands. In 1782 all regiments of the line without a royal title were given a county designation and the regiment became the 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot (the 45th Foot being designated the 1st Nottinghamshire).

The Cape of Good Hope, On 7 January 1806 the 1st Battalion of the 59th was part of a brigade that landed on the cape, and within two days the Dutch forces had surrendered. This was to be the 59th's first battle honour.

The 2nd Battalion, meanwhile, sailed for Spain in 1808. On 16 January 1809 it took part in the Battle of Corunna, a British tactical victory which allowed for the evacuation of their forces from the Iberian peninsula. From England, the battalion was dispatched to the Netherlands in July 1809, taking part in the fruitless Walcheren Campaign. The unit was to remain in England and Ireland until 1812.

From the Cape, the 1st Battalion sailed to India. In November 1810 the battalion took part in the invasion of Mauritius. In the following year they invaded Java. They remained in Java until 1815, when they returned to India.

In 1812 the 2nd Battalion returned to Spain. They took part in the Battle of Vittoria (June 1813), the Siege of San Sebastián (July – August 1813), the Battle of the Bidassoa (October 1813), the Battle of Nivelle (November 1813) and the Battle of the Nive (December 1813).

From France the 2/59th had sailed to Ireland. When Napoleon returned to France, triggering the "Hundred Days", the battalion was part of the British force dispatched to Belgium. While they were present in the Waterloo area, they did not take part in the hostilities. Having formed part of the army of occupation in France, the 2nd Battalion returned to England in 1816

The 59th Regiment of Foot Guards is a British Regiment of Foot with a long and exceptional history, who can trace their origin back to 1755 when the regiment was raised by Sir Charles Montagu for service in the Seven Years War, and was intially known as the 61st Regiment of Foot . Following the disbandment of two junior regiments, the 61st was renumbered as the 59th Regiment of Foot in the following year.

We are Christians! The 59th contains an element of everything.  If you would prefer to snipe your foe from afar, then join the Light Company! Finally, if you would rather to form the back bone of the regiment and fight shoulder to shoulder with your comrades, then join the Centre Company!

Presently the 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) is comprised of two companies: Line, Lights.

The Line company headed by King Kaide operates in traditional line formations with very rare exceptions and high standards for discipline. The line anticipates high attendance (frequently 20-25+) and overall good performance during events. No exceptions are made for trolls or likewise behaviour.

The Light Company headed by Captain Duke operates in loose skirmish formations that are appropriate for a Light company. The light company expects good behaviour and espcecially good marksmanship. Once again no exceptions are made for trolls or trolling behaviour.
