A question
« on: December 13, 2013, 09:55:04 pm »
I was just wondering how do you rename a unit in NW? For example if I wanted to rename the 45e into say the 112e, how would I go about this?

Also, are there any good tutorials on how to reskin units in NW? I would like to get into making reskins 1) because I have some skins that I would like to have made that nobody seems to be willing to take up and 2) because I would like to help people who want skins made seeing as I have plenty of free time and I figure I could help

You can change the names of the unit in the troops.txt.

Oh you wanted a serious response, why didn't you just say so.

You want to change the parts in bold, the black bold is the unit name, the red bold is the subheader below the name, such as "Line Infantry" "Light Infantry" etc.

I would recommend paint.net for editing skins. It is free via download on the internet and probably more user friendly than gimp or photoshop. There are also some good tutorials on how to change colors of items in pictures with it on youtube.
