Thank you, you do not need to be a re-enector to know how much spending a lot of time in your hobby pays off.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

I'm working very hard on getting my WW2-German SS impression. This is what I have so far.

Big picture, you hath been warned'eth.
[close]

Top Left, My Ammo Pouches, top o' the line, $100 repros, from At The Front: http://www.atthefrontshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ggpk98
Top Right, My M31 Brutbeutel, top o' the line, from Hessen-Antique (LOVE THIS THING!!! Strongly recommend for any WW2-German reenactors): http://www.hessenantique.com/M31_Bread_Bags_p/hage030.htm
Bottom Left, My bayonet frog, with my great-grandfather's bayonet! (I'm bringing a little bit of him with me, he would be proud, I'm sure), bayonet frog from At The Front: http://www.atthefrontshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ggwkfm You can actually see the rust and wood decay on my Great-Grandfather's bayonet, I'm going to restore it. Sand out rust, polish it, then blue it.
Bottom Right, SS-Belt Buckle, top quality (Still packaged, I know. I don't want it to be exposed to oxygen until the time is right for me to open it), from At The Front: http://www.atthefrontshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ggbbss

Tonight, I just ordered my belt and y-straps (combat) to complete my battle harness...

Belt, From Hessen-Antique: http://www.hessenantique.com/Black_Leather_Equipment_Belt_p/hage013.htm
Y-Straps, From At The Front: http://www.atthefrontshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=gfgeconY

I also ordered boots a while back, and need to wait a few more months for them...

Boots, from Lederarsenel: http://www.lederarsenal.com/en/pages/bakery/low-boots-of-the-wehrmacht-199.php Had to order in size 14/w-US, I'm a huge guy, 6'4.5", 320 pounds (don't look it though, apparently), and a size fucking 14 foot...

And, in case you're wondering:

I'm proud to be able to call myself a reenactor in-the-works. I've been officially accepted into the following group, and am working on my gear for my impression.

Period: WWII - German
Name: Karl Petschulat (I'm using my last name, because the group I am accepted to got a hard on for my last name, and are letting me use it.)
Age: 20
Regiment: 2.SS-Panzer-Division "Das Reich," 3.SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment "Deutschland," 9. Kompanie
Rank: SS-Schütze
Backstory: Not sure what to put here, actually...

Just a quickie, what was your budget, or how much were you expecting to pay to start SS?

I don't have a budget. I came into this with the mindset, "This is going to break my wallet." I have already spent around $600, and that's just for the things I mentioned aboved, exlcuding my Great-Grandfather's bayonet, of course. I still have to get loads of other things, and that may be another $1,000 at least.
