The Egypt map you showed on that picture doesnt really have the necessary quality for a mod. I might allow you to use my Egypt map from my roleplay server for your mod. What would also be good is adding a pyramid prop. Its a pain in the ass to plant pyramids in NW without a proper prop.

Walking crouched would have been a nice feature for Lights&Skirmishers yes. Musket era warfare wasnt solely about line formations

@mod discussion
Mods die because the community is lazy. They try out a new mod and even if they like it they will eventually return to NW and leave the mod behind, especially regiments. NW events are much easier set up and people know how to organize/manage them so instead of doing some work to get proper events up for the mods the people just stick with what theyre used to. If a mod had around 10 active regiments doing events it would survive a decent while. But without such a base its just a matter of weeks. NaS only survived all the time because we have so many NA people that love civil war.

@Redcoat

In my opinion you should really think of a reskin/ nw overhaul instead of a classic mod because of the above reason

Thats good stuff for parades but a joke for real melees. Bayonet era melees were (when it occasionally happened) just a real messy crowd with random stabbing and clubbing and doing some fancy foot steps wouldnt bring you anywhere.

Actually not true when it came to few times CW melee happened. They are teaching you a base so you won't be thrown off balance. It's the same reason the modern military still teaches the same base with bayonet fighting.

When hundreds of men crash together in a big blob the worlds best balance wont help you at all. Dont try to convince me these exercises are anything other than aesthetical. And bayonet fighting in modern military? Oh boy

That cant be done server side. All event participants would have to install the mod themselves.

If it only had third person view...

Its definatly not needed. A game set in an authentic and realistic world would be destroyed with a third person view.
You should feel like your soldiers, be your soldier.. a third person view is bit like cheating and is destroying most of its atmosphere..  :-\

For me it doesnt destroy the atmosphere but I can understand that it does for some people. The thing is just that I fear any kind of formation will be so much harder and maybe even too hard to perform without a third person view. I for example always use third person view in NW Linebattles (except for shooting) because otherwise I always run into my mates when in formation.
