Optifine is basically the same thing as wse2 but for minecraft, only difference being that one allows ppl to change their fov and the other allows ppl to zoom which is basically the same thing for their respective games but it's still allowed in actual tournaments and servers like hypixel allow cause it's main purpose is boosting fps and making the game smoother which allows more people to actually play and enjoy the game

Honestly everyone should be using it. Having test w2 whatever a bit, it does make the game feel like it's supposed to. before using it half the time my game would feel really janky. Missing half the feint animations, stabs being released randomly, wacky movement glitches. I think it allows for better feeling gameplay overall so imo everyone should just get it lol

It's literally free and anyone can get it very easily. It's not like it's only for a small group of ppl, PK players have been using it for ages

Of cause your point is right, I'm just saying that minecraft speedrun board moderators decided that you cant speedrun with optifine (on newer version), but you can use similar addons (Idk how it officially called). In this case organiser can decide if he wants to allow or ban wse and it totally up to him. So imo there is no reason to ban it permanently, and even if you do it someone who disagree and want to host tournament could allow it
