Realising that the upcoming second season of the Hussar Cup can only be turned into a success if we keep this current spirit of enthusiasm within the cavalry community alive, we hereby intent to organise another tournament. While recent tournaments were mainly focused on teamplay, we decided to organise a tournament that will completely emphasise on the personal quality of each cavalry player. The pure 1v1 skill of each cavalry player hasn’t been measured in a proper and competitive way since His Majesty's Hussar Class Cavalry Tournament (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=38998.0) hosted by Troyard in May 2018 (And for the more veteran players the never finished Napoleonic Wars V1V1T Tournament (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=31790.0) hosted by Vince in May 2016.) We feel that the results of our tournament could furthermore contribute to a more accurate and healthy discussion relating the Hussars Rated List (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44894.0). Our tournament will be based upon the principle of handing over a certain amount of autonomy to the individual players. In practise, this will mean that instead of heavily regulating the scheduling of matches by the tournament organisers, players bear the responsibly to contact their opponents by themselves following the tournament bracket. Besides, players are allowed to play their matches on a private server while refereeing the matches themselves. As LaSalle proved still unable to take a decisive lead, despite the indisputable advantages given by Treiz, the latest simply decided to go all-in and allowed DeLaBedoyère to play in his place, allowing LaSalle to finally close the match.
Regardless of the ethical issues such gesture raises when it comes to the admin's team integrity, there is absolutely no questioning in regards to Treiz's genuine wish to give one of his rankers the chance to finally reach the prestigious stage of a virtual tournament. As we all expect it, Treiz will cruise through the lower bracket with ease and in that way, teach a lesson to the many fools who doubted him.

We will encourage players to play their duels as soon as possible, but everyone still has right to the 4 day period to complete their match as stated in the rules.
The remaining players are relatively active and with a bit of cooperation, the last few rounds can be finished ahead of schedule. Of course we're not going to force anyone to play at an inopportune moment.

It's mesmerizing that a tournament such as these, with almost 70 players and such a large double-elimination format, was able to be conducted in a month's time. I can't recall many examples across those 10 years where a 1v1 tournament (that wasn't played on a single day) went such swimmingly. You would pretty much always have people dropping off but not saying it explicitly, thus delaying the tournament immensely when it wasn't simply the admin team not committed to enforcing deadlines.
Huge props to the whole admin team but also the cavalry community for continuing to show such dedication to the game. Numbers may be dwindling as years pass but those who remain are still showing passion and commitment which is one of the reasons it's still worth playing NW.
Good luck to Carlos & LaSalle for the grand-final. Considering your run in this, safe to say you both deserve to get the title yet only one can remain.

It was a great tournament for me and a great experience over multiple weeks. I am very glad that so many players signed up and I can say that the admin team did a great job organizing this tournament. I wanted to thank them, and all the players of this community.
