They signed it, but didn't ratify it.

Ummm America actually signed it.....

but they didn't.

Well after all the USA had the same rights as everyone who signed the Treaty of Versaille according to the peace treaty of 1921. I've edited my post anyways, shame on me.

Germany undertakes to accord to the United States, and the United States shall have and enjoy, all the rights, privileges, indemnities, reparations or advantages specified in the aforesaid Joint Resolution of the Congress of the United States of July 2, 1921, including all the rights and advantages stipulated for the benefit of the United States in the Treaty of Versailles which the United States shall fully enjoy notwithstanding the fact that such Treaty has not been ratified by the United States.

Please enlighten me if I've missunderstood this, but according to the 1921 treaty the USA should have an interest in the Treaty of Versaille (as far as I've understood it).

Bravescot has just explained the meaning of this article to me. I thought it was basically giving me all rights and claims put down in the Treaty of Versaille, but it actually doesn't. Shame on me.

For those who are wondering: the U.S. did not ratify the Treaty of Versailles because they thought the Treaty was too harsh on the German people, compared to their French counterparts. The U.K. Prime Minister at the time was just a wimp.
