After many rumours, discussions and planning we are finally ready to announce The Warband Crossover-Cup - the TWC.
This tournament is designed to bring together both the Native and Napoleonic Wars communities, with both competing for a prize of €1000. The idea is for players to seek out and ally themselves with those of a similar skill level from the other module, giving them a fair and competitive environment in which to try out and experience the module that they are not familiar with. In accordance with the traditional Native format and with one of several NW groupfighting formats, the tournament will be played
8v8 on both modules. The roster cap has been set at
13 players, ensuring that at least some players on each team will be obligated to play on the module they are not originally from.
ADMINISTRATORS
While we will be releasing a full ruleset for each module at a later point, the overall tournament format can be summarised as follows:
- The tournament will last 6 weeks, meaning the finals should be played before the 22nd December
- WIS style groups for each module, this means that each team will be seeded twice, once on Native and once on NW
- As each team is in a Native group and an NW group at the same time, they will have to play one Native match and one NW match per week
- The points that a team wins on each module will be pooled together into a global leaderboard ranking
- A certain number of teams (depending on signup numbers) will advance into the knockout stage
- In the knockout stage, a team will play against their opponent once on Native and once on NW
- Matches on both modules will be played as 4 sets of ft3
