Welcome to the 93rd "Sutherland Highlanders" Regiment of Foot. We are an NW Infantry Regiment, formed on the 3rd of May. In our regiment we value commitment, ambition, discipline and courage. We strive to become a more valued part of the community through strength and honour. In our goal for success we aim to improve ourselves as a group and as individuals, so we may all look back and forward to our time with the 93rd Highlanders.

We search for committed, friendly, mature and experienced players to join our regiment. Our command has collectively known quite some time leading, forming and enlarging regiments and we strive to accomplish such goals within the 93rd Highlanders once more. If you are looking for a group of people who are known with and in the community and share our goals of self-improvement, look no further.

Enlist today, with the 93rd "Sutherland Highlanders" Regiment of Foot.

Welcome to our FSE Thread!

The Sutherland Highlanders were raised three times before they were formally known as the Sutherland Highlanders. They were originally raised as the 1st Sutherland Fencibles in Scotland in 1759. After the disbanding on the 1st by Lord Reay in 1763 the 2nd Sutherland Fencibles were formed in 1779 by Elizabeth, Countess of Sutherland. Finally, in 1793 the 3rd Sutherland Fencibles were raised by Lieutenant Colonel William Wemyss. They were finally disbanded in 1799 at Fort George.

Upon its disbandment the 93rd Regiment of Foot were enlisted on behalf of Elizabeth, Countess of Sutherland. When the 93rd were called to duty finally in August 1800 not a single one of these brave Highlanders failed to report to duty. And as such, they had sufficient man to march on, under, now Major General, William Wemyss.

The first major conflict of the 93rd was on 28 December 1814. As the British advanced on New Orleans the 93rd Highlanders came under direct fire. They remained in deep cover, under constant rain and in dire situation for 5 hours until the British finally retreated. The final assault of the British occurred on the 8th of January. As the battle raged on Lieutenant Colonel Dale died and when no other orders were send to advance or withdraw the 93rd stood firm. They held their ground while being completely overrun, until finally orders came to withdraw.

The 93rd were commemorated for their immense bravery and it was noted that: “To the very edge of the canal before the rampart the few that were left of the kilted regiment marched, then halted there. The men who had been detailed to bring scaling ladders and fascines had failed to come up. Unable to go forward, too proud to retreat, although the regiment behind them had all fallen back. At length a mere handful of what had been the magnificent regiment slowly retired, still in unbroken order, still turning to face the foe. From the ramparts the Americans cheered them wildly. All rifle fire ceased.” – The Thin Red Line, Regimental Journal, January 1968

Like most British regiments, the 93rd Highlanders developed its own traditions and character, some of which survived amalgamations. The 93rd Highlanders were reputed to be the most religious regiment in the British Army, outdoing even the Cameronians who were originally formed from religious zealots. The regiment formed its own parish, with ministers and elders chosen from the ranks by the ranks. Two sergeants, two corporals, and two privates would be elected to serve as elders. The regiment was also said to be the only regiment with its own regular communion plate.

There was also a long tradition of familial service within the regiment. The regiment recruited heavily from Sutherland and Caithness. Prior to amalgamation, there were no more than a dozen family names in the ranks as opposed to the 91st Highlanders who had 323 Irishmen and 501 Englishmen in its ranks.

Early in the regiment's history, it was common to see the regiment parade with a pet deer. The first deer was the pet for Sergeant Samuel Macdonald.

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” – Ernest Hemingway.
Like Hemingway, we, from the 93rd Highlanders, believe that true satisfaction and ‘nobility’ comes from improving ones skill and character. We reward those within our ranks who can claim to have accomplished such goals through promotions. We use an historical ranking system and we proudly claim to promote those who are most deserving, in our eyes and those of Mr. Hemingway.

Like we mentioned before, we strive to improve ourselves and our group. We do this, through distinct cooperation and through trainings and events. We design our schedule so most people can attend, however we ask our members to strive to attend at least 2 events per week. If this isn’t possible during certain periods, we are of course understanding. So, try to attend our trainings and events; our lives may depend on it…

* Internal Event: During these events we aim to improve our community sense by playing different games or variations on well known games within the community. By doing so we establish a connection with each other that surpasses Napoleonic Wars. These events are not mandatory and members can decide at their own leisure to attend or not.

** 18:30 or 19:00 GMT: The time this event starts depends on whether the Command Staff decides to hold a training (for example focussing on improving new members etc) or to organise an irregular 1v1. The 1v1 will have a small training on forehand and will therefor commence at 18:30, while the regular training will start at a normal 19:00 GMT.

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
–  Ralph Waldo Emerson.
In the 93rd Highlanders we strive to become something greater than a group of individuals, we strive to become a powerful and close group of friends and champions. Therefore we try, like Mr. Emerson so beautifully stated, become useful, honorable, compassionate and to make a difference. In the 93rd Highlanders we accomplish this through certain committees. These are small groups of people who all aim to accomplish certain aspects of the regiment.

These committees hold elections every month. You can put your name forward for a committee between the 1st and the 5th of every new month. Fulfilling a committee with great success will grand you merits in the eyes of the CO's, however, failing at such a job will of course have a negative effect on your standing. When you have more merits you will sooner be accepted into higher tier committees (which can reward more merits etc) and you will sooner be promoted to an NCO rank. Every committee is led by a CO and has certain conditions for joining.

In the 93rd Highlanders we have the great distinction to use custom skins, a custom regimental flag and a custom overhead banner. These were all created by Kaasovic, for which we are him eternally grateful. Please, enjoy our skins at your own disposal.

The skins replace the 42nd Blackwatch unit (and renames them to the 93rd), furthermore it changes the red and white chequered banner on the 4th page to our regimental colours/emblem. Some examples in the form of screenshots can be seen below. To acquire the skins, simply click HERE (the download will start immediately). The Readme.txt explains where all the files need to go. Community / Technical Help: Regarding Teamspeak 3 Server
« on: July 21, 2014, 07:22:35 pm »
Hello gentlemen, and thank you in advance for taking the time reading this.

The issue I am running into is that the server icons uploaded to my Teamspeak do not show up for the users. Most of the icons simply seem absent, however, when looking into the uploadbox for the icons, the icons seem to be there, but simply are completely white. I uploaded the icons myself and this still happens. When other people upload icons the same thing happens. The icons that seem to be missing are also different per user it seems, although some icons are missing for more people than other icons.

The Teamspeak Server I use is hosted by a personal friend of one of my members. Switching Teamspeak is not really something I would like to do, since we have many members settled on this Teamspeak and the IP is displayed on several platforms (some of which I cannot edit). Apart from the icon issue, the Teamspeak is simply great in the sense that ping is down right amazing, the server is stable to the fact that it hasn't gone down for almost 3 months (since we started using it) and we use it for free.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

To contact me, add me on Steam or join our Teamspeak: 85.17.165.16:9989

Kind regards,
Colonel Arthur Snow (Infamous) of the 93rd Sutherland Highlanders

P.S. If this is posted in the wrong place, please let me know so I can move my question elsewhere.

The Mess Hall / Rate the Thread
« on: May 21, 2014, 05:57:39 pm »
I don't this has been posted before, if it has been, apologies. The purpose of this thread is that people can post a link to a regimental (or other) FSE thread with which they are personally involved (in making or keeping it bumped, so to say). So for example, a ranker could post his regimental thread, even if he didn't help in its making, a modder or modsupporter could post a thread link to his modthread or a forumnite can place a link to his favorite Mess Hall thread!

This way some smaller regiments, who may have amazing threads (which must have taken many hours to make) can get the extra attention they deserve and the same goes for mods that may need some more bumping.

Base your rating on the artwork of a thread/its purpose/the content etc

I will start:

Clans / 21st Nova Corps "Galactic Marines" [Bear Force II]
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:05:57 pm »

The 21st Nova Corps "Galactic Marines"

Stationed at worlds including Rhen Var, Aargonar, Boz Pity and Mygeeto, the Marines were specialized in taking over enemy starships and planet-wide attacks. The Marines were identified by their typical equipment. Their helmet was a synth patch used to form a protective layer against dust, snow and ash traces.

During the Battle of New Born Alex Galactic Marines would acquire fame by making use of the prototype armor, which would later be named "Space Trooper Armor". When the armor failed, the Marines used their strength and perseverence to tackle and destroy the CIS Super battle droids. The outcome of this battle caused the Marines Commander Bacara to be feared among the CIS.

Our Creed

The 21st Nova Corps is an intergalactic regiment in the Bear Force II mod. We support people from all nationalities and favor fun over pure lust for victory. Although fun stands firm in our minds we expect our members to act mature, respectfull and honest towards others. Follow our creed and you will find your place amongst the brave men of the 21st Nova Corps.

Regiments / Ikko Ikki Zulu Wartribe
« on: January 04, 2013, 07:52:46 pm »

We are the Ikko Ikki. We are a regiment based within the Anglo-Zulu War Mod for Mount and Blade Warband. We strive to become better, bigger and closer than the other regiments around. We prioritise fun over pure discipline. Although we centralize this in our regiment, we do not approve of trolls or any other type of community damaging behaviour. We try to maintain close relations with eachother, member and leader alike. As a community we work together to have fun and get better. We support new players to the game and veterans alike. As veterans we try to assist new players to the best of our abilities while keeping our friendly atmosphere intact. This, adding to our central ideology, provides a regiment that makes us all proud to be part of.

The regiment has its origins in Japan. The Ikko Ikki, like the name suggests, originate from the Ikko Ikki clan in Japan. The Ikko Ikki are an old and well respected family. Their family was closely knit and they fought and died for eachother. We strive to keep the reputation intact through the way we treat eachother and how we behave on the battlefield. The Ikko Ikki clan came from Japan and moved to Africa. This large passage was done around 1000 AD. This was obviously an incredibly dangerous journey and a well reflected event for the family. In this same time period the Minamoto family was ruling Japan as Shogunate. The Ikko Ikki family, just like many others, were oppressed and silenced during their reign. Many of the Japanese families fled and hid on more southern Japanese islands. Yet the Ikko Ikki decided to head more south-west. During this time period the Japanese were well aware of the danger of this passage, yet they sought the reward that could be found in Africa.

They arrived in Africa and the Ikko Ikki were able to live a reasonably peacefull existence. Although welcomed with war they were able to survive on the continent. After many prosperous years on the continent the British arrived. Soon after this event tensions arose and this soon escalated into fullout war between the Ikko Ikki and the British. With the support of the many other Zulu Tribes the Ikko Ikki fought and finally prevailed over the British. Although not many records remain of their fights the Ikko Ikki gave their lives and homes for the African continent, and they sure were not going to give it up without a fight.

We fight for our new homes, we are the Ikko Ikki.

Nederlandstalig Forum / Melee tips & tricks
« on: December 29, 2012, 05:05:06 pm »

« on: December 28, 2012, 11:28:56 pm »
