GG, smooth tourny no issues as far as I'm aware... Thanks again Vol and Co
Other than the man, the myth, the legend. Legends_Drake taking a while to finish group stages. But yeah seemed to be a very well run tournament.
True, although groups finishing at 9-9:15 is a blessing

Review

Spoiler

Starting off in group A, we saw Amaterasu yet again dominate the group and continuing the winstreak they have had since the 3rd Tournament loss to Poosy by beating every team with ease with only CCCP putting up a fight. Also in the group we saw BlackKnights beat CCCP in a very close encounter which nearly saw CCCP come from 4-1 down to win 5-4, but it was too much too ask and BlackKnights progressed as 2nd seed behind Amaterasu. Elementals struggled to make a impact and they will look to perform well in a weaker division in League 2. In the next group we saw the other favoruite in Poosy, beat all opposition with ease and progress as first seed. We then saw Fluss, NSS and GVT fight it out for 2nd and 3rd seed, with GVT narrowly missing out on both. NSS vs Fluss was the highlight of the group as both are great teams and it ended with a 5-3 NSS win to give them 2nd seed going into bracket play. Fluss have improved as the season has gone on and they will look to cement themselves in the top 12 for next season. GVT will be renaming to Noodle Alliance and they will show the capacity the NAs have to compete in League 2! Group C was probably the most competitive group with NPP, Virgins and Snappers all involved. We saw Snappers progress as first seed but it was close in the points department as Virgins was 2nd with 17pts and NPP 3rd with 16pts, this shows how close the matches was, the closest match was NPP vs Snappers which was a intense 5-4 Snappers win. Virgins managed to get the better of NPP also but the group ended with Snappers 1st, Virgins 2nd and NPP 3rd, also Amigos tried hard to perform but the challenge was too great. Last group had the 4th and 5th place seeds go head to head in ENIGMA and Legends, this ended in a very close 5-4 loss which is a improvement for ENIGMA on previous tournaments as Legends is a strong team and its a impressive attempt. In the other matches in the group, SF lost all matches and Gordon managed to only beat SF whilst losing to all other teams, poor displays which they will look to improve for Season 3, League 2. 13e Academy put up a valiant 3-5 effort vs Legends but they got destroyed 5-0 by the Germans in ENGIMA. Legends progressed as 1st seed, ENIGMA as 2nd and 13e Academy as 3rd.

In Round 1 of bracket play we firstly saw the 45th derby again of NSS vs NPP, this was a VERY impressive display from a frantic NPP trying to crawl into the Play-Offs for this season, who beat NSS 5-1! This is the 2nd time in a matter of tournaments where a on paper superior NSS, lost to weaker counterparts who finished as 3rd seed in respective groups, NSS will look to improve on this for Season 3. In the next Round 1 match we see CCCP take on ENIGMA, it starts of as a clean ENGIMA win leading 4-1, then CCCP manage to come back to 4-4 but unluckily lose out 5-4 in the end, great effort. Black Knights took on 13e Academy in a very interesting matchup with two mid tables teams, this saw 13e Academy's French contingent take on the majority polish team led by Ruler and Blitzkrieg, and we saw BlackKnights end up on top with a nice 5-3 win to take them into Round 2. The last Round 1 match was Fluss vs Virgins which was a smooth 5-0 win by Virgins with no effort required, Fluss will look to clutch up in these bracket matches in high pressure situations to try and improve in the standings next season.

Round 2 saw Amaterasu take on NPP which was a clean sailing 7-1 victory for Amaterasu who clearly are out to climb them all time rankings and make a proper statement, whilst NPP sadly fell short overall and didnt qualify for Play-Offs. Snappers too on ENIGMA in probably the most interesting and suprising outcome in Round 2, with Snappers beating ENIGMA 7-5 to cause a big upset as the Germans was the favoruites by far. Having so many experienced and quality players and to lose in a bigger format, is poor and they will 100% look to make changes to start performing like they should be doing for Season 3. Poosy took on BlackKnights in the 3rd Round 2 match with BlackKnights achieving 3 Rounds which they may see as a decent achievement, but overall, its a dominant Poosy win to take them into the Semi-Finals. Legends vs Virgins was the last match of Round 2 and was probably the next best match after Snappers vs ENIGMA. This match sees the 3rd and 5th seed go head to head in which the dominant French majority Legends, prevails. The match was relatively close in a 7-4 win, but it always seemed Legends was one round ahead at all times, just like Amaterasu in the 6v6 tournament final vs Legends. Overall it was a great win for Legends who missed Tiberias and Elsse, so they can be proud of this win.

The first Semi-Final sees Amaterasu take on a hot Snappers who smashed ENIGMA in a huge upset. However, this match was the opposite with Snappers literally getting snapped in half by Amaterasu who drove home to a very comfortable 7-1 win, this is to be expected but you have to give credit to Snappers reaching the Semi-Finals, especially in a big format. The other Semi-Final was Poosy vs Legends, this is the most competitive Semi-Final for sure. This saw both a depleted Poosy without Bagins take on a Legends team without Elsse and Tiberias, with full rosters it is always a different game entirely but under the circumstances I think Legends can be quite pleased with a 7-5 win over Poosy, Poosy probably would of been considered as favoruites in the match but sometimes it isn't meant to be and it then led to us seeing a 2nd occasion where it wasn't just Poosy vs Amaterasu in a final of a tournament. We then see Poosy and Snappers go head to head in the Bronze match  Poosy coming out to a narrow 7-6 win which would of been a huge upset for Snappers who would of loved to have got a Season 2 podium finish.

In the final we saw a very very good match, which was way more competitive than anyone could of predicted. We saw a depleted Legends missing two of there best players take on a full strength inform Amaterasu team and only narrowly lose 10-8, this shows the skill gap is closer than first imagined and maybe we may see future upsets if teams replicate Legends tactics and patterns of play. We saw great performances out of ExTaZz, Shadey, LeBrave and Gibby who all performed best for Legends and they tried hard to close the deficit and win but it was too much to do. Drake had a few good rounds but apart from this he continues to slump to his lower level of recent years and he choked a few great situations which could of turned the tide of the match. ClaSh had a really really poor tournament, he only gathered a handleful of kills in the final which may be down to his recent inactivity and lack of team cohesion, but with time maybe he gets back to his old level but he will for sure look to improve for the Play-offs. On the Amaterasu side of things, it was a professional win, even when things seem "easy", it takes a professional team who respect the opposition, to beat them in these circumstances. We saw Jakob put on a master class getting alot of important kills and bait kills which was impressive to a certain EGS host :). We then saw the typical suspects in Zeyden, Achilles and Higen all perform super well, Zeyden narrowly behind Jakob and Achilles behind him, Higen didn't perform to his Season 2 heights, but he did perform to a great standard worthy of such a great player. The only negative for Amaterasu was indeed, Red, he performed to a 1-10 k/d before being substituted. Red was dying consistently to the likes of ExTaZz and was always letting his team down so he will hope to improve for the Play-Offs. Overall I would say it was a deserved win but it was too close for comfort, but it did make for great viewing. Thanks to everyone for playing in the EGS Season 2 Regular Season, good luck to the 8 teams participating in Play-Offs on Sunday 10th October, 8pm!

Most Suprising Player Performances

Spoiler
In this Tournament we saw great performances from Snappers as a team which deserves to be mentioned, more specifically Ivan played exceptionally well, making some great picks to get Snappers into the first Semi-Final of the Season. We also saw BlackKnights make it to the Quarter Finals with Ciomico and Alatriste playing very well. We then saw Zeyden, Higen, DOMI, Shadey, ExTaZz, Gibby, LeBrave all have a great tournament who all made great picks and plays to take there teams respectively to podium finishes in the tournament. ExTaZz in paticular made great picks in the middle of the final to ensure Legends stayed in a close round deficit to still try win the Final. Saving the best to last, Jakob. He performed great all tournament and obviously carried the final making great picks as previously mentioned. Amaterasu is littered with rising stars who have the potential to be great players, the thing they lack is mostly consistency of top performances which they will look to cement as a regular pattern of play over the whole of the next season. Congrats to jakob on winning tournament MVP as it was well deserved.
