Every team must read the following rules as they are very important and EGS rules are different compared to normal tournaments.
We were kind of disappointed by seeing that even some captains didn't even read the rules. Please, read it all.

Roster Rules
- Rosters are capped at 9 people as you are aware.
- Players MUST sign up with their community names ONLY. No roleplay names allowed.
- Must also use community faces rather than randomized ones OR you face punishment (refer to EGS Rules)
- Transfer deadline is set at 5pm (17:00 GMT) the day before every tournament . After that, not a SINGLE change will be allowed.
[close]
General Rules
- Melee speed will be set on medium.
- The only class allowed is the line infantry.
- You aren't allowed to spawn if you are not playing.
- All matches will be ft5, apart from the  Round 2/Semi Finals/Losers Finals and Bronze Match (ft7) and the Final (ft10).
- A good behaviour is expected. Insulting/toxicity will lead to 1 warning then a suspension from matches.
- Cheating once will result in a permanent ban of any future EGS tournaments.
- ID MUST be provided, if not, players with ID's missing won't be allowed to play. It can result in a temporary ban or even more.
[close]

Match Rules
- Once a match has been called, each team has ~5 minutes to get ready.
- If the first round is not started within ~5 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

- After each round, each team has ~1 minutes before they must have typed 'r' again.
- If the next round is not started within ~1 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

-The rules above are controlled by the referee - if the referee says ~5 or ~1 minutes is up, then the time is up.

-If there is clear delaying in a duel at the end of a round after 2 minutes then a warning to the fight will be given. If the player continues to delay or run from the duel then the admin can slay the player.

-In any case of a server crash/map change if it is to happen, then all current rounds WILL be VOIDED.

-tiebreaks will be; 1- wins vs tied opponents ; 2 - points

As you can see, we have pre-announced all dates. This is to preserve the speed and efficency in which we complete the season within. We are aware of other non team based hosts who are free to operate within the weeks we have announced and bring us quality tournaments we can all enjoy. We will very soon be having a media section added so keep your eyes peeled! You now know when Season 2 will start and finish and we are 100% keeping to this schedule, If you can not make it to a tournament(or multiple), just remember you have 9 man roster cap and transfers available! Also in dire situations we do have the emergency sub application on the team sign-ups thread in which players without teams will sign up as subs and will fill in when required. Can't wait to see you all on the 25th!

If we start a week sooner or a week later, one of the tournaments Poosy will have around 2/3 players. And I believe it would be a 7v7.

Introduction

Spoiler
The European Groupfighting Series (EGS) is starting into its second season. One could call it the first real season. After a dozen of tests have been completed in the first and after a lot of work has been done behind closed doors, DarkTemplar and Voluble have formed a strong project with a huge and well-prepaired admin team. The strict roster rules are a clear unique selling point that the scene has not really seen before but what was desperately needed. Players and captains have prepared themselves well for the upcoming months, which was shown by a huge swap of members as well as the disbanding and forming of teams as everybody wants to be in a place he can stay for 6 or 7 tournaments. With the disbanding of Asatro this week we can also see that a new era of teams has the latest come now although a lot of new teams run with "old ideas".

So what makes EGS special? The first point is that all the EGS tournaments will see the same teams, a consistency that was really rare. 20 teams, which makes it fairly big with 9 people in the roster allowed for each team. The 6 main season tournaments will be respectively 2 of the 3 standard sizes 5v5, 6v6, and 7v7. The big start will be made by a 5v5, the format the scene has used by far the most in the almost a decade that is gone. All those tournaments will see unique maps that allow the best quality. That quality will also be maintained by stable servers. To give all of us some hype for each and every tournament, MVPs will be awarded and some wise words will be written alongside every tournament. The last special thing to the EGS S2 is that you cannot only win yourself some Palmares and another ego boost. A minimum of 1000€ prize money will be paid towards the most successful participants.

Prediction

Spoiler
The upcoming 5v5 has 2 big favorites and 3 other teams to realistically have a shot at winning it. The big favorite for the whole season seems to be Poosy, having most of the English NWWC team that recently won this year's nations cup. But not only that, along the lines of the strong English squad are Rikkert and Troister two other Top 20 players. But it also looks like 5v5 could be their weakest format. The vast majority of the Poosy members have underperformed in 5v5 tournaments in the last months with their respective former teams plus what splits Poosy the most from other season-winning candidates is the huge depth, basically all 9 players being on approximately the same level. Something they cant use and abuse in the smallest format, the 5v5. So the biggest contender for the season, but the main favorite for this tournament is Amaterasu. Not having the same roster depth as Poosy, 5v5 is their moment to shine. But not only that, RedFire and Higen have won the last 5v5 tournament alongside grouped. But can they win their first-ever tournament?

The third strong team is ProudBoys, a name that we all connect with endless success in the team's prime. But although they will surely reach a final over the duration of the season and are also likely to win a tournament they are not the main favorites anymore. A lot of PB members are simply extremely rusty and so the roster seems limited to only 5 players that are more or less on the level of our 2 big favorites. But as this tournament is a 5v5, it seems like a great chance to start the season with a good run. Team four of the favorites is Virgins. The successor of Animals has repeatedly achieved big set-ups over the first half of the year. Often being defamed as a team of small names they have performed incredibly well, often above their actual ability. The only thing they are missing is a tournament win, which doesn't seem too likely now, but another semi-final would be no surprise anymore. The last favorite is Enigma, another german stack after about 18 months without such a project. And although the inactivity of Tigere still hurts, Blacktham has heavily improved and Wursti was reintegrated after his inactivity. Especially Wolpi, Gerher, and Igel are just top-class players and so Enigma could be called a secret favorite for the 5v5 title.

Surely some other teams, mainly Snappers, CCCP and NSS also have a strong roster and team play. But they don't seem to have the strength to go for a real deep run into this tournament. Having said that they will surely look to play in the quarters and should never be underrated. The last team I wanna point out is a rookie team that could surprise some of us and on a good day may get a chance to make it to the knock-outs. Fluss should under no circumstances be underestimated. The Joker and Camm15Elbe have played an incredible amount of time in the last year and by that heavily improved, knocking the doors of being Tier 4/5 players. And the addition of former Asatro member Ragn4r adds a mostly unknown huge german talent. Surely Fluss still is a Rookie team, but one to look out for.

Player to watch out

Spoiler
The players to watch out for straight of the bat is most certainly players such as: Python, Zeyden, Shadey, ExtaZz, Golden, Wolpi, Troister. There are respective carries of the teams they are in and are expected to be the main slayers to help power the team to victory.
The more underrated players who will also play a big part are players such as Higen, Gerher, Igel, Quenouille, Chuckster, MarxeiL, Mike, Vortx. All these players are silent but deadly and have all found there ways into respectively quality teams who they can easily influence into a top 3 position, watch out for these players.
The other players who are not as recognised that we should be watching out for are players such as: LaPache, KOBZIK, Lama, Faisan, Yovko, Narrow. These players are solid and can pop off at anytime and I expect them to make a impact in the 5v5.
