I'm not saying that the bands don't have other hits, but you just don't hear them as often as certain others. These songs are played so much, that people will often only recognize them for said song, thus overrating it to oblivion. The worst perpetrator of this is evidently Nirvana. Nearly everyone can name that single song they made in 91' (Teen Spirit), but how often are they going to know any others? Fortunate Son is widely known for its overuse in Nam and the subsequent media that followed it, and their other hits will usually come in as afterthoughts.  I will concede on a level with Rage Against the Machine, but they have always been first recognized by Killing in The Name Of, and I've never seen it any other way (Freedom is their best imo).

I think CCR’s top 3 that I named are all extremely popular and used in Nam movies. Obviously Fortunate Son has become the anthem for that era in pop culture, but I also think people instantly recognize the band when their other songs play. They also have Born on the Bayou which will always be popular in Louisiana.

Then my problem must be regional. I only ever hear Fortunate Son for CCR, and rarely HYESTR.

You should add the chain by fleetwood mac coz that’s over played af, is the theme for F1 and is quite a common song on TV. Also, Your Beautiful by James Blunt should be added because that was the most over played shit for like 3 years after it’s release and is still played a fair amount or atleast it was in England.
