EGS | Season 4 League 2 Tournament #1 | 5v5 | 6.11
« on: October 14, 2022, 12:03:23 pm »

Welcome to the first tournament of EGS Season 4 hosted by Voluble & DarkTemplar & Chainsor. This season we return with a similar admin team with new ambitious additions to continue making EGS the best series ever. The format stays the same for the highly successful league 2, only difference this season has is there is no loans available during 5v5s and League 1 has a different format. Same old EGS, same old consistency and media coverage expected!
The tournament will be hosted on Sunday the 6th November at 20:00GMT. There will be a transfer ban for this tournament. The tournament will be played in the standard 5v5 format. Teams will have to fight their way through a groupstage in order to claim victory.

Every team must read the following rules as they are very important and EGS rules are different compared to normal tournaments.
We were kind of disappointed by seeing that even some captains didn't even read the rules. Please, read it all.

Roster Rules
- Rosters are capped at 9 people as you are aware.
- Players MUST sign up with their community names ONLY. No roleplay names allowed.
- Must also use community faces rather than randomized ones OR you face punishment (refer to EGS Rules)
- Transfer deadline is set at 5pm (17:00 GMT) the day before every tournament . After that, not a SINGLE change will be allowed.
[close]
General Rules
- Melee speed will be set on medium.
- The only class allowed is the line infantry.
- You aren't allowed to spawn if you are not playing.
- All matches will be ft5, apart from the Quarter and Semi-Finals (Ft7) and the Final (Ft10).
- A good behaviour is expected. Insulting/toxicity will lead to 1 warning then a suspension from matches.
- Cheating once will result in a permanent ban of any future EGS tournaments.
- ID MUST be provided, if not, players with ID's missing won't be allowed to play. It can result in a temporary ban or even more.
[close]

Match Rules
- Once a match has been called, each team has ~5 minutes to get ready.
- If the first round is not started within ~5 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

- After each round, each team has ~1 minutes before they must have typed 'r' again.
- If the next round is not started within ~1 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

-The rules above are controlled by the referee - if the referee says ~5 or ~1 minutes is up, then the time is up.

-If there is clear delaying in a duel at the end of a round after 2 minutes then a warning to the fight will be given. If the player continues to delay or run from the duel then the admin can slay the player.

-In any case of a server crash/map change if it is to happen, then all current rounds WILL be VOIDED.

Introduction

Spoiler

Hello everyone, EGS welcomes everyone back to yet another League 2. Last season was spectacular in every way possible where each tournament saw a different winner. This season we welcome back familiar teams, new teams, familiar faces and new faces. Since the beginning of the year a lot has happend in the Mount & Blade: Warband Napoleonic Wars scene.

Prediction

Spoiler
This season we have 3 direct tournament and tital contenders: Jordan, Guardians of Japan and Impact. With most likely the strongest looking teams they will try to win League 2 of Season 4 of EGS. Even though last season also had a few real title contenders, no one could really imply a real dominance.

Trying to annoy the contenders are teams like the Germans from Amigos and Nr59 which already played a big part in last League 2 season, both being in the top 8 teams. Amigos on one hand were inactive in the past couple of months, Nr59 was always consistent. SubV, Lycoris and Seven Deadly Sins, a new formed team by Bodya, will try to keep track on the Germans and the possibly top 3. Behind those teams there are several new and familiar faces. Sherwood Foresters (SF) and RG are back together with new League 2 teams like 115e, Children of Chaos or the all-Americans Royal Scottish Lowlanders (RSL).

On our paper we have a few teams, that we think will definitely advance, but behind that it could be uncertain. Since only two teams can advance per group the group stage will become as competitive as ever, because Tier 2 and Tier 3 grouped teams want to advance. Newer teams like Kungliga Svenska Armen (KSA) or 31stIN will have a difficult time in their first EGS season.

Player to watch out

Spoiler
Nearly every team has a player who can carry and most people have to watch out for. Players like Rikus, Faser or for example R1bazZz can be deciding factors for their teams.

Ty for hosting. 1st time GoJP have been in EGS, so was a fun experience. And that small delay at the beginning was nothing compared to alot of the other tourneys. EGS is a long tourney series and a serious one. So actually enjoyable to play this cause less trolls etc… Cleanest and smoothest tourney i’ve attended in 4/5 years

The tournament was very fun to partake in, respect DK for apologizing about the small delay at the beginning but honestly it wasn't much and from the moment we started playing matches, the whole thing went extremely smoothly.

Personally playing in League 2 has been a very exciting experience so far. Although it's still early days, there are several teams that seem to have a shot at the title and the mid-table is very open, even more so than in League 1 I would say. Props to GoJ for claiming the first tournament but honestly a big round of applause to every teams that attended last night.

A special mention to RG who beated us (115e) fair and square in the quarter-final. The match was really intense but I must admit there is no doubt you were the better team and it's really pleasing to see that a regiment I mostly knew as the best exemple for casual gameplays could also field a competitive line-up that can go deep in the EGS. Looking forward to a possible revenge in the future weeks. Same goes to SubV & Nr59, the matches we played in the groupstage were super tense & close and I look forward to more.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often.

GG to my German bredin in the Nr59.

Wp to GoJP and Impact for securing 1st and 2nd,  and a big shout out to RG for making it that far and giving Nr59 a run for their money.

It was an honour playing yet another EGS and improving on our previous brigade record. The atmosphere both within our team and the tournament was enjoyable and we had lots of fun. I feel like League 2 was very balanced in regard to skill, and there are indeed a lot of chances in the mid-table for several teams to make a name. Thank you for your shout outs, it means a lot. See you on the next one, and GG.

Thank you for the tournament.
Despite technical problems in the beginning, the organising team coped with the problem - for this they receive a warm welcome from all participants.
As for the prediction before the tournament from Chainsor, they can say that the guy hit it exactly right. The way it was predicted is the way it actually happened. Judging from what I saw yesterday at the tournament, this season will be the most boring of all EGS seasons. I am sure the first two places will be divided between GoJp and Impact, as it was in the second season when every tournament from the final were the same teams - Poosy and Amaterasu, later Legends. We probably won't see a new winner every tournament like we did last season. It's very sad to realise that.
In any case, thank you for the tournament, for your efforts and for hosting it.

Thank you for hosting! It was tons of fun and we had some amazing and balanced matches with very skilled players on both sides. We tried our absolute best and actually beat our previous record which was awesome to experience with the lads.

GG well played to all teams and see you in the next one!
