Public Linebattles?

Do any other MM veterans remember playing in the Public LBs?

I miss the old days, those where anyone could join a game and feel part of a team, rather than zerg style rushes that we see on servers these days. I miss the days where 20 random people would all join into a single unit and fight as a team- it was THIS community that caused me to join my first regiment, and it was this type of battle that kept me in this game for so long.

I certainly dont expect everyone to agree, but I for one would like to see the Public Linebattles resurrected. So for just one hour a week, why dont we try and run a few, and try to build a semblance of that community spirit that existed before NW. We have talented mappers in the commuinity, so who says we have to just limit it to a random map- why not build a few themed ones now and again just to keep it entertaining.
So I ask you to support this idea, and at least see if there would be any support from the wider community.

Maybe I don't get the idea but how are you going to have public players actually form lines and let them do volley fires and stuff?

NA linebattles, mainly the Prussia Army Linebattles still have the Pub Regiment which brings at least 10-15 members of players from all different servers, mainly NA1, and are led by other Pub officers like JD who have been doing this for a while. EU get your shit together

Damn I agree. Those were epic times. I remember I was annoyed everytime because IVe had an event on Mondays, so I barely couldn't join any of these public linebattles But when I did, it was great fun every time.

I'd absolutely love to see an event like that back on NW.

In MM we had everything set up on teamspeak. Public players had the option to choose what they wanted to play as and they joined that respective channel and they sort of chose their own commander in their channel.

Sounds like a great idea as long as we don't have some of the less savoury and egotistical members organising it, also may be a problem to get public players from eu to join thaws line battles as most people who want to join line battles have joined regiments.
