[SIGN-UPS OPEN] Golden Musket - Regimental Tournament
« on: November 23, 2012, 12:39:54 am »

Welcome to the new Golden Musket.

The Golden Musket is a regimental tournament that provides a regular league fixture, where you can compete, compare and have fun playing against other Napoleonic Wars regiments. The tournament is designed to be all inclusive; allowing new and old, competitive and non-competitive, large and small regiments to take part. Line Infantry is the main course of action in the tournament. All regiments are welcome, and will be designated to the division with similiar attendance, meaning Division A will be for the regiments that are able to bring a least of 21 members and Division B are for regiments that have an attendance of atleast 12. We hope that the Golden Musket tournament will encourage a spirit of 1 vs 1 regiment linebattles, a fast paced and invigorating alternative to larger, multi-regiment battles. If you would like to sign up look further down below.

P.S. Divisions are no proof of skill or life-span, only size.

PP.S. The organisers retain the right to remove/deny regiments that we deem unreliable to show up and follow the rules.

Division stage -> Group Stage

This is the course of the tournament. In the division league every 16th regiment will face every other regiment in their division once and after all battles have been played the tournament will move over to the group stage consisting of the winning 4*2 regiments in each division to the semi-finals > finals.
                  Score table

Win [3pt]   -   Loss [1pt]

Rules.

1. Fight all Regiments in your division.
> You will be given a number of battles to fight within a certain amount of time. If you can't fight the required number of battles, contact an organiser.
> If a regiment is unable to continue fighting in the tournament they are removed. Points from scored agains regiments removed from the tournament are wiped from the scoreboard.

2. Report scores to organizers.
> The winning regiment must report the score via PM.

3. Officers must find a referee before the battle.
> The referee must not have been nominated by either regiment taking part in the battle.
> A list of referees will be provided; find them on the thread below.
> After each battle the referee must send in the score to me in a PM.

4. Officers and referee(s) will agree on a map before the battle.
> Both officers should agree on a suitable randomly generated map at the start of the battle.
> If the officers cannot agree on a suitable map, play 5 rounds on a map favoured by one regiment, and 5 on one favoured by the other.

5. Officers and referee(s) will agree on a maximum player limit before the battle.
> The maximum player limit must not be exceeded.
> The minimum player limit is 12 for division B, and 21 for division A. You may always field 12/21 even if the other regiment doesn't have 12/21 players.

6 & 7
6. Banned units.
> 2nd Regiment of Foot Guards (Coldstream)
> 1er Regiment du Grenadiers de la Garde Imperiale
> 1. Garde-Regiment Zu Fuss
> Lieb-Gvardii Preobrazhenskiy Polk
> Grenadier Batallion Purcell
> All skirmisher, cavalry & special units are not allowed.

In other words, only line infantry is to be used.

7. Banned & allowed maps.
> Large randomly generated maps are banned.
> Random steppe forest is banned.
>Random Plains, desert, snow & steppe is allowed.
[close]
8.
> The linebattle will be composed best of 10 rounds of win, meaning there would be 10 rounds in total.
> Team swap after 5 rounds.
> If the outcome is 5-5, there will be an 11th tiebreaker.

Linebattle rules.

1. No skirmishing.
> Skirmishing is breaking formation; officers may break formation to a limited degree.
> Excessively long charges may count as skirmishing.
> Line Infantry may not Crouch unless using multiple rank formations.

2. No splitting Lines
> The entire regiment must play as one unit.

3. One officer per regiment.

Extra note for North American regiments; the servers will always been on European soil as the tournament is designed for europeans. However, if you do wish to sign up as a north american regiment feel free to! As long as you can attend the european time-schedule it should not be an issue! If we'd mix up both North American and European regiments in competative league like this, it'd be followed by a whole lot of complications if we'd have to swap around servers all over the place and would not work with the time - and gameschedule we have planned for the ladder.

Referee rules.

Spoiler
1. If a referee believes a rule breach was serious enough to make a round unfair, he may declare that round void.
> The referee must explain why he declared the round void.
> If a referee deems a rule breach to be intentional and malicious, he may give the round to the other team.

2. The referee must keep track of the linebattles score (which may include between maps).

3. Regiments may complain about a referees decision to the event organisers.
>  Bad referees will be removed.

Why doesn't the referee just give the scores to the organisers?

Anyway, nice idea. And goodluck with hosting it!

Haha good point, I get what you mean. Quite an awkward formulation there which will be corrected soon, thanks!

And as of Vorlen; the player minimum for division A is 21, not 19. :o It is meant to be 20 rankers with an officer.

Edit; I see where it got wrong now, the rules & the introduction was slightly different thanks for pointing that out!
