Given Bethesda have f*cked it up twice in a row they should at least give Obsidian a chance to make a follow up.

That's quite impossible unfortunately, since Obsidian technically doesn't exist anymore as Furrnox already mentioned, and most of the old NV devs aren't even part of the new merged studio.

Fallout was one of my all time favourite franchises and nothing pains me more than to see Bethesda rape it not once but twice. I naively thought Bethesda would comeback strong with a Fallout 5, hoping to regain the trust of the fanbase in a similar fashion to how IO Interactive did with "Hitman™" and "Hitman™ 2", after they released that disaster "Absolution". Clearly I underestimated the unadulterated greed of major video game publishers in 2018.

And now I'm deeply concerned about TES: VI. God help us.

Fallout 76: selling a full-priced game with micro-transactions=greedy scum.

I disliked Fallout 4 because the storyline was terrible and the setting was kinda boring too. Also I hated how they gave you a pre-built, fully voice acted character which ruined the RPG element.

Fallout NV remains the best in the series. The setting, characters, storyline etc were all extremely good. Given Bethesda have f*cked it up twice in a row they should at least give Obsidian a chance to make a follow up.
New Vegas is and will simply remain the best Fallout ever, agree.

Good point, Obsidian ran into trouble not long after they finished New Vegas. It's a shame because it should be fairly obvious that world design and storyline are the most important elements of any open-world RPG but Bethesda don't seem to get that...

Getting chucked into the middle of a geopolitical struggle with interesting characters whilst on a path of revenge was a really good setting for a game. But Fallout 4? Didn't really care about the kid, the big 'twist' was really obvious and I predicted it within the first 20 minutes, the factions and main characters were mostly boring and I found myself not really caring about any of it.

Apparently Fallout 76 is just...empty.

In case of all-out nuclear war probably the most realistic scenario though.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

The problem is that previous games (Including Fallout 3) have established that people survived outside the vaults, and began rebuilding pretty much immediately (To little apparent effect in the East)

4 was a massive disappointment and I'm glad I dodged a bullet by not picking up 76.
