Looks like the green channel of the normal-map for the shako-plate is flipped.

Hmm... I'll have a look on that. I really haven't noticed anything wrong with it, but then again, it's a really small piece and I never zoomed in on it.

Edit: Aight, I had a look and fixed the issue. Idk what's the big deal with it, really, but whatever, I have nothing better to do one way or the other.

Link 1 should be updated by now. Link 2 may take a while to update.

Did you not notice that the plate was being lit from below?

To be honest, I didnt :P. I didn't even make testing for the Fencibles, just textured, made sure I had no coding bugs and took the pictures.

Also, Doc, I just found this weird shako plate from the 55th Foot, wore before the 1812 shako replacement:

Any idea on what units had these plates for their light companies? C.E. Franklin's book doesn't specify anywhere on that matter, except saying "some regiments" and tagging 55th amongst them.

It wasn't uncommon for regiments to make non-regulations changes to their shako-plates, but I've never seen any thing that suggests any regiments replaced the crown with a hunting horn. If there's a surviving one, I haven't seen it.

Then again, Franklin's works aren't exactly known for the accuracy. He provides a very large swath of information, some of which is accurate, but he seems to do no original research and usually relies on faulty secondary and tertiary sources.

Well, something tells me if they ever existed, at least one or two must be resting here in Argentina or Uruguay. When the British invaded in 1807, both the Light companies of 88th and 87th engaged in the Battle of Buenos Aires, and somebody must have stolen a their hats as souvenirs.

I'll look around and see what I can find.

Edit: I forgot to add, if the LI wouldn't have that, between 1807-1812, what would they have on their shakos? Big rectangular-ish plate or the hunting horn badge? (assuming they have stovepipe shakos, not belgics)

Light infantry companies of line regiments wore the same as everyone else in the company, save for the green plume. Light infantry regiments wore hunting horns instead of the plate. Both points apply equally to the pre-1811 shakoes and the 1811 shakoes.

So pretty much you're telling me that every single skin I made, which includes the stovepipe shakos and all 3 companies have the wrong plates for LI.

PERFECT. BLOODY PERFECT.

(um... That applies to officers as well?)

That would appear to be the case.

Officers wore the same shakoes as the men, although it seems some light officers continued to wear stovepipes all the way up to Waterloo and beyond. The men would have been in the 1811 shako by the end of the Peninsular War.

The provisional battles might have proven an exception there, given their odd situation.

You have no idea how easy it is to say that, man.  ;D

I started with 29th skins yesterday at 7pm. It's 8am right now, I didn't go to sleep, and I'm still not done. Only halfway through the process.

However, expect new stuff after this patch. I'm adding spyglass cases to most officers, as well as some new hats (finally could include the lovely bicorne) and Wellington replacements with other high ranking officers (I really want to add Picton and his fancy top hat).

In the meantime, I shout for all animators out there:

Is there anyone capable of fixing those damned crossed belts?
