The English civil wars was a series of armed conflicts between Parliamentarians (Roundheads) and Royalists (Cavaliers) in the 17th century. It damaged all countries over the British Isles. These wars resulted in around 100 000 deaths. Victory of Parliament was followed by execution of King Charles I and exile of his son, Charles II and the replacement of English Monarchy by Commonwealth of England and later Protectorate.

Maybe later. I want to finish all infantry regiments first, then start implementing flags

I just PM'd you some stuff about uniforms. Upon further research (S. Peachey and Les Prince, E.C.W. Flags and Colours) it would appear they were in grey. I took them out of the roster as Wilhelm wanted to keep at least one New Model Regiment so I would replace them with Sir Thomas Farifax's of the New Model. If not then they are in grey. I was going initially on the Warlord Games guide which had them in light blue (and listed them as Sir Thomas Fairfax's regiment when he didn't even have a regiment of infantry before 1645!) If you keep them then they are in grey (light grey)  but we do not know the colours they carried sadly.
EDIT: By the way, excellent Main menu.  :)

A quick reminder that there is a Steam Group for the mod:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/pikeshotte
If you haven't already done so then please join. If anyone else can help with modding (I think modelling is the main one) then get in touch with Dazzer. If anyone can do voice acting then that would be good (you must have/be able to do an English, Scottish and/or Irish accent, possibly Welsh and maybe regional dialects would be acceptable).

Fifty one members now! I am amazed it has grown so fast in a day or two.
As I and a few others said on the other thread, I think the best hope for the mod will be commander battles. That said I really do want to do some regular battles and sieges, there were plenty of castles and country houses that were besieged during the war!

First of all, fantastic mod!
Secondly, I would like to get into NW modding, I have the module system, python, photoshop (For Texturing) so I have the resources, I want to texture more than code to be honest. I know you didn't make all these textures but for the ones you did make you done a great job, do you have any tips on texturing and/or modding in general?

Once again, Great work :) (I really mean it)

Thanks, as for texturing I know to change uniform colour and do some other basic things. The only BRF tutorials I've saw are in French, But I'm hoping this guy uploads the 2nd part of his texturing tutorial using BRF.
Thanks and good luck!  :D

Looks excellent! If you need any more info on the Naseby battlefield then I can PM you some stuff (there is a good contemporary picture from c.1646 I think that shows the layout of the armies and the battlefield). I used to pass by the battlefield quite a bit when I was young although we never got the chance to stop and have a proper look.

Oh don't worry they will be there. Dazzer was doing some work on the drummers and the Covenanter's last I checked so have no fear, Newcastle's Lambs will make an appearance eventually.
(I would make a Star Wars pun but it would be terrible, not to mention I am more of a Lord of the Rings fan myself).

It is shaping up. Dazzer is currently doing some stuff for a single player Thirty Years War mod so will be preoccupied with that for a few weeks and Juan who is doing the maps has a few other things going on. I have been continuing research and have even done some basic flags for the mod. Hopefully things should pick up again in a few weeks.
I can confirm that the Covenanters will be in the mod (it is roughly set between 1642 and early 1645, just before the New Model is formed, although Montroses men will be present so that takes that bit up to the end of 1645 into 1646).

EDIT (21/02/2016):
Dazzer is currently still busy with his Thirty Years War mod but in the meantime I thought I would share a few things I have done for the Pike and Shotte mod.
Here are some pictures of some of the colours that will (hopefully) be carried in game:

Hey guys. I just don't know how to continue. Back in July I knew absolutely nothing about modding and I was just trying to mod. I created alots of useless textures, materials and meshes. Now OpenBRF files are messed up and it's really hard for me to "mod" it. I will have to create the mod from scratch. Of course I could work with the old OpenBRF files, but it would take much more time to create the mod. What do you guys think?

Keep going with it if you can, even if you have to do it from scratch the results will be worth it. The group stands at 134 which is good.
I would do it from scratch if it will be quicker, again just PM me and I will send you some stuff on uniforms and the like.

The battlefield is probably one of the best studied in the whole of England. Whilst there are far more hedges there now, it is pretty clear where the fighting was. That said, there are always contradictions, such as the fact that many musketballs have been discovered much further back, suggesting that the Royalists did put up a fight when they retreated.
The main contemporary illustration I used as a guide was this one from c.1647

However, the man who created it was not at the battle and had never visited the field from what I gather so there are inaccuracies. A.H. Burne's book 'The Battlefields of England' was quite useful. Whilst a rather old work (1949) it is nevertheless useful and I shall be using it for reference for the other battlefields (namely Edgehill, Marston Moor and Newbury).

It looks great man keep up the good work!

Many thanks! I am currently working on Marston Moor but it will take a little while. In the meantime here are a few more flags, this time from Montrose's Irish Brigade:

I cannot take credit for the image of the Virgin Mary, that comes from the project Auldearn site (if you are a wargamer he has posted a lot of images of flags you can use). The cross as well comes from off the web. We do not know a great deal about Montrose's army and I believe the description of the Irish flags come from one man's diary entry (he did not say to which exact regiments they belonged to either).
Good news as well, Volume 3 of ECW flags and Colours from Partizan Press has finally been released (it has been well over ten years since volume 2). This will finally include the cavalry standards and perhaps a few more infantry colours. I have a copy on order.

EDIT 16/03/2016:
Not much to report. Volume 3 arrived and is truly excellent, giving many details of the cavalry standards carried by the regiments in the Civil War.
In terms of mapping I am currently working on Marston Moor, here is what I have done thus far:
Spoiler
An overview of the Battlefield. The Parliamentarians/Covenanter's deployed on Marston Hill and on the slope just in-front of the hill whilst the Royalists deployed on the moor.

The land was divided between arable farmland planted with mostly rye on the slope and the moorland that was mainly made up of gorse.
Spoiler

A hedgerow and a ditch behind divided the farmland from the moorland. This ditch has caused some debate amongst historians. It seems that the Royalists only put a handful of musketeers to defend the ditch. It is possible that they actually tore down the hedge before the battle as they preferred to have the ditch as an obstacle and the hedgerow screened the enemies movement. Not shown in these screenshots is a rabbit warren that was located on the Royalist right flank (I swear on every battlefield there are hedgerows and rabbit warrens galore).

'Cromwell's Plump'. It is alleged that the allied commanders met here before the battle. Oliver Cromwell at this point was in command of the cavalry of Parliaments Eastern Association, one of three armies the Allies had that day. The Eastern Association was led by the Earl of Manchester, the Northern Association by Lord Fairfax, father of Sir Thomas Fairfax who led the right wing of horse, and the Army of the Solemn League and Covenant commanded by the Earl of Leven. The Royalists had the Army of Prince Rupert and the Northern Army of the The Marquess of Newcastle. It should be mentioned that the battle did not start till late afternoon/early evening (Rupert had gone off to get supper whilst Newcastle had retired to his coach for a smoke). It was very cloudy with a thunderstorm raging not far away.

Thanks for the offer. I know Dazzer is quite keen for modellers so if you know that or anyone who does that would be a great help. It is still going but myself I am a tad busy with other things (dissertation, essays etc.) so I have not done much in the way of mapping although the flags are pretty much done. Dazzer as well is busy with other things so it may be a while yet before things pick up again.

EDIT: Looking back into the files, I think I might be able to finish the first version with what we currently have. Estimated release will be about in 20 days. Maybe, just MAYBE

Wouldn't that be a bit too hard? I mean it depends on if you want the mod to be really melee based. It would be an interesting choice and I can't see I would necessarily be against it.

Omitted Historic Periods In Mode

English Civil War 1642 - 1651
Anglo-Spanish War 1585 – 1604 (Spanish Armada)
German Peasants' War (The War after Luther's Reform)
Wars of the Three Kingdoms 1639 - 1651 (England - Ireland - Scotland civil wars)
Golden Age of Piracy 1600s - 1700s
Exploration of America 1492
Spanish Colonizations 1689 - 1746
Jacobite Risings (It's a series of uprisings which had the aim of enthronement the executed king's son.)
Eighty Years' War 1568 - 1648 (Netherlands-Spain War after Netherland Revolt)
Thirty Years' War 1618-1648 (Century of War unfolds this era but unfortunately it's just multiplayer supported. Also many important faction don't take part in mode.)

Historical Periods like these will be very popular in Europe and USA. And if the mode is endeavoured (like clothing in the mode is different than the other modes, hairs-beards that fit to era) it will be very interesting mode and gain lots of money. You can add up these historic periods except Jacobite Risings and Exploration of America. Because if you pay attention to dates, you can see nearly all of them were happened in the same century. You can create a new mode under the name of Religious Wars.

I thought about the countries that can be in this mode:
For England: Parliamentarians and Royalists
For France: Musketeers and Cardinal's Guards
For Netherlands: Rebels
For Spain: Tercios
Scotia
Ireland
Pirates

Also, hair is very important for that era. So hair mustn't disappear when a hat wore. If you handle this, it's going to be the most fascinating mod ever.

It would be good if we could get some regiments (or companies) organised depending on how much interest there is in the mod. I know one or two regimental commanders who have shown interest in the mod, fingers crossed they can spread the word a bit.
EDIT 12/07/2016:
Ah I see the no crosshairs won the poll. This should make things a bit more interesting.
Title: Re: Pike & Shotte - The English Civil War
Post by: Dazzer on July 13, 2016, 02:57:11 pm
Actually im kinda worried about this. I havent tested it without the crosshair, but I feel like you wont be able to kill anybody :D but at least its accurate. I expect egiments (companies) to dont spread so you might have a fair chance to kill somebody from close.
EDIT: Tested shooting without the crosshair.... not looking good :D

Well since peeps are gonna be closer to each other to actually get shots it might work well.  People in events are basically gonna be aiming at a line of peeps, how could you miss a large group of people? Plus it might encourage people to melee more in game.

Looks great! I would probably give his helmet some white feathers to show his rank a little more. Either that or change his helmet for a round hat with white feathers:

Oh and a note about the sash. That is the sash of the order of the garter, I believe it is a little more light blue in colour and is worn from the left shoulder to the right hip rather than the other way around. Here is a portrait of the King wearing it. It was his favourite order:

I say that but Sir Edward Walker (he was pretty much the Kings's secretary, he is the guy sitting down writing) is wearing what looks like the sash of the order the other way around unless that is another heraldic order.
EDIT: If you are thinking about doing a Parliamentarian General then here is a picture of the Earl of Essex, it is not in colour sadly:

His sash would be orange/tawny since that was his personal colour, he seems to be wearing a breastplate and I expect the rest would be in buff (except perhaps the trousers, red maybe?)

I think that if you made Charles I's hair more brighter it would resemble him more.
Do you have an estimate release date for the mod?

Looks good. Prince Rupert's regiment I am assuming? As I have said before, sashes are a very complicated topic. Royalist's generally wore red sashes but I have heard some mention that some who had served on the continent may have worn blue (I think the Swedes wore blue sashes?)

I made a compromise and gave them some variations with red and blue sashes

Looking good with details like white cuffs! I think there is a way to alter the shading on the arms on the models to make them look more curved (so you can't see the individual planes from the model mesh), but I'm afraid you'd have to ask a good modder what would have to be done to do that

The Artillery nerf needed to happen!
In all seriousness though you are right, literally every single source says the same thing, artillery had a minimal effect on the outcome of a battle. I think there was one exception (might have been one of Hopton's battles) but that is it. Hopefully we will have sakers, mortars and robinet's. I might do a post on the artillery over on the Steam page  (I have been doing a serious of posts on the historical aspects of the war which are listed here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/pikeshotte/discussions/0/352792037319366605/)
Thanks for the links although our new animator is working closely with our Community Manager who is also an ECW re-enactor so he should know the correct drill etc.

I know I'm late, but I don't think the crosshair should be removed because someone could just re-add it? Correct me if I'm wrong but this won't be fair to players who don't receive the addition of a crosshair if someone creates a mod for it or for themselves.

Looking good although as a Roundhead and of Essex's army he would be wearing an orange sash around his waist rather than a red one unless of course it is New Model in which case it would be a blue sash.
On another note we are now forming regiments for the mod, which is due for release around Christmas, more details here:

You are mixing the words companies, regiments and armies what are we actually reserving? And the name is hard to understand, does it have to be the leaders name or what?

How is it hard to understand? You form a company that is a part of a regiment, a company being equivalent to an NW regiment. There are officer lists for the armies, it is not difficult to understand. I refer to them as regiments initially because in NW you create regiments (42nd Black Watch etc.) but in the English Civil War regiments and companies were named after their officers. I refer to the armies because different regiments belonged to different armies so those are the lists you can request, it is perfectly clear. I am not mixing them up, I start by calling them regiments as that what they are in NW and then refer to them as companies throughout.
The name is hard to understand? What? Companies are referred to by the name of their officers so the commanding officers will adopt their name. So you could decide to be in Captain Ffoxe's Company, King's Lifeguard of Foote. As I say if you want an officer list then PM me and I can see what I can do.
Title: Re: Pike & Shotte

So to clarify a Company is equal to an nw regiment. And that is it?
I got confused too i must say, cause it sounded like a company was equal to a NW regiment that where going to be part of something bigger? Like a pike and shotte combined regiment/army, like the UA or DA.

Quote "officers will form companies that will be a part of a regiment" there are morer similar reference in the thread.

But i think i understand now, the template would be
Officers_Name Company, Historical Regiment, Historical army
Fx. Sir_Wiener´s Company, 1st Pike Regiment, The Earl of Essex's Army ?
Title: Re: Pike & Shotte
Post by: Black Watch 1745 on November 08, 2016, 12:44:03 pm
When I say they are a part of a regiment, I mean they belonged to that regiment historically.  As I say we haven't quite got things sorted yet so a regiment with its companies could well work out like the UA or DA depending on how many companies are formed. They will be based around what field army they were in so all the companies from the King's Lifeguard are in the Oxford Army, Manchester's in the Eastern Association etc. Yes a company is equivalent to an NW regiment. I will edit to page to clarify if it is bothering so many people. I should mention War of Rights has a system where you belong to, say, Company A, 20th Maine rather than just make the whole 20th Maine.
Yes that is the sort of thing but you cannot have made up officer names and regiments, hence why I say PM me if you want a list of officers. I might nick that template though.

Please just calm down

I will try to explain it by equaling it to units in other mods

Army=Army (explains itself, it consists of regiments in our case)
Brigade=Regiment (it consits of several companies, just like brigades of regiments)
Company=a part of regiment

Its just like any other mods=someone creates an Army, then people form Brigades (Regiments in our case) and then people create Companies. For example:
Player A decides to create a company, named for example Captain Ffoxe's Company of Foote of Kings Lifeguard (Red is his rank, Blue is the name of company, usually it was named after commanding officer of the company, indicates what sort of unit it is,the name of the regiment

Then more people like Player A create another (around) 9 companies (there were usually about 10 companies in total in each regiment)

Player B then chooses to create a regiment, uniting all those 10 companies into one whole unit (basically its something like a brigade)

Then there are more people like Player B who create another regiments

Then Player C decides creates an Army, for example Earl of Essexs army
Then regiment leaders can join those

I hope I explained it well (there may be some mistakes)

So basically you are trying to organize it like War of Rights.

The problem i had was that regiment and company was used as the same thing without explanation and the explanation was written like peoppe would already knew that you changed the style.

So all in all, to see if I understood, you are saying that people who want to play will have to form a company and then when x amoint of companies of the same reg are formed.
They thogheter then form the regiment? (In some kind of "forced" matter) so who is then the leader of that regiment?
For example 32nd have had quite a bad experience with outsiders trying command/control us. Will we have to listen/follow them?

As I said, Regiment is something like a Brigade
Like in North and South
every company leader comands HIS company
leader of the regiment was usually a general/high noble
For example Earl of Essexs regiment was named after him, because he created the regiment
You will follow orders of your company officer
we probably wont force you to make regiments (in brigade way), but it would be nice, as it would be historical

and cooperation is key to success, you should make a plan before jumping straight right into event
but again we wont force you

Obviously, but since you mentioned NS i had to ask. They designate leaders who have no earlier ties to the regiments underthem and give them "power to command/control" them. Thats why iam asking if thats the style you are going to organize it or if you are leaving it up to the "community" to decide that.

I assume he is referring to brigade commanders in NaS being appointed rather than chosen by the regiments he will command? Personally, if we did it so a regiment is equivalent to a brigade in other mods then I do not see any problem in the commanding officers of the various companies that make up the regiment selecting who will be their colonel and command the whole group. Since people like the Earl of Essex and Charles I have been dead for 370 years give or take a bit I don't think we can historically do what they did and get them to grant commissions!

Sorry to bring this up again but I did not use them as the same thing throughout the piece, I used regiment at the start and then explained it and used company from then on, the only time I referred back to regiments was when I provided the link to the spreadsheet with the names of the regiments on it so people could use it as a starting point to form their companies. Plenty of people I spoke to had no problem with it. And what is a 'peoppe'? If you mean Pepe then as far as I am aware he is not involved with the mod  :P
Just to clarify my earlier comment, I am assuming you mean the various companies appoint their colonels rather than a colonel getting parachuted in by a superior?

In other news I will hopefully get the Marston Moor, Auldearn and Powick Bridge maps done soon and if I get time I might do one for Edgehill and Cropredy Bridge. I think I will hold back on the Oxburgh Hall and Whitehall maps for now. To refresh a few peoples memories here is the Auldearn map so far:

I have edited the page to clarify as well but the cavalry are formed into 'Troops' rather than 'Companies'. I have not had any requests yet (although a friend of mine said he or one of his friends might look into forming a company for one of the Cornish regiments) though so, again, please do PM me for now if you want to form a company or troop.

I assure you there genuinely was a Captain Blackadder! He is mentioned as being Montrose's scoutmaster at Philliphaugh and possibly served in that role before then. He was in command of a troop of dragoons. He must have survived the diaster at Philliphaugh because apparently he was later garrioned in Fyvie Castle.

Will the Covenanters be their own faction or will their be a few Covenanter regiments on the Royalist side and some on the Parliamentarian?
For now the Parliamentarians will have two Covenanter Regiments, one foot and one horse, whilst the Royalists will have one Highland unit and one troop of Scots Dragoons. There will also be one of Montrose's Irish Regiments who served with his Scots Royalist army.
Eventually, we would like to see a separate Covenanter faction and we were initially hoping to do so but time issues etc. got in the way. If the mod does well then we may be able to do a second version that adds them as their own faction.
EDIT: Should mention as well that the mod is set during the first Civil War so the Covenanters are firmly on Parliament's side, the Scottish troops fighting for the King are usually called Scots/Scottish Royalists or sometimes 'rebels' if you were a Covenanter. Some had fought with the Covenanters before joining the Royalists whilst others were recently raised.

Yeah I think Dazzer was quite keen to broaden it to the second but we really have little to no information on English Royalist units of the second in terms of flags, uniforms etc. Hell we have very little on the New Model other than they wore red (we have flags for one regiment, Charles Fairfax's, and a few other references but not much else other than conjecture). Of course many Covenanter units fought in both so if we do add them as a separate faction then we could start to broaden it to the second. The Covenanter foot Regiment on Parliaments side will be the Earl of Buccleugh’s Regiment of Foot, we have their flags from the Second Civil War (they were Colonel William Baillie’s by that point) which were probably not that different from their ones in the first other than the motto. The Covenanter Cavalry Regiment will be the Earl of Leven's Horse which had lancers.
The mod is set during the first (1642-1646) although the Parliamentarians really only go up to 1645 just before the New Model was formed, although Skippon's Regiment continued on into the New Model so there will technically be a New Model Regiment.

EDIT 12/01/2017: We are getting quite close to releasing now (Dazzer is just trying to fix a few things with Commander Battle). Here is a zip file containing officer lists for the various armies. As mentioned, you pick one of these historical officers and his company to represent.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/j6u9ylq4yjs3q7o/Army+and+Officer+Lists.zip
We will start to sort out a proper system but for now you can post on the relevant discussion on our Steam Page to request one. The officer lists are sadly not complete as I have not had much time to complete them but I will endeavour to do so and update this.

Quick update, we are slowly but surely getting there with the mod. We do apologise for the delay and all but as mentioned issues have cropped up that have delayed it a bit. Can't give an exact date at the moment I am afraid.
In the meantime here is a map I have nearly finished based on Powick Bridge, the site of the first battle of the Civil War in 1642. Ironically the last Battle (Worcester) would be fought nearby in 1651:

I haven't quite done the right hand side of the map although from what I gather it was largely made up of enclosed fields so it will be fairly open.

Also I an making an attempt to create a scene prop of the Banqueting House at Whitehall, please do note I am completely new to this:

I only put the picture of the ceiling in for reference for the moment (Ihave not textured anything else yet). If I get it finished then it may make an appearance in the mod.
Not much else to report, again if you want to make a company or troop (equivalent to a NW regiment as previously discussed) then please get in touch, I have now uploaded some of the officer lists. We are also still looking for a female to record a few lines, anyone who is Scottish or Irish would be useful a well since there are some Scots and Irish regiments in the mod.

Most of the textures are ones already used in Mount and Blade: Warband save for the Royal Coat of Arms. If I get time I may make some new textures but for now these ones will do. It needs a bit of tweaking here and there but it is nearly done. I did not make any pews, pulpits etc. since most of these things can be made using existing items, plus it means the churches can be laid out in different ways depending on the map.

Thanks for the replies chaps. I cannot specify a release date other than soon. We are getting a few new battle cries for the Scots and Irish recorded, I am finishing off a few maps and we have got someone in to try and add ensigns and musicians to commander battles. Once that is all done then I expect we will be ready to release although again I cannot specify.
Just a heads up as well, the church won't be added as a scene prop till later since we want to release as soon as possible so it will appear in a future patch.

I have just posted a new historical guide on the forum discussing the tactics used by the infantry during the English Civil War:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/pikeshotte/discussions/0/133263024014397104/
It is not perfect but it should give a rough idea of how they fought and how companies should train their troops for events. We have been considering having a pre-release event using the Deluge mod as a test run to see how we can best run events using these tactics. We are in need of more companies to take part so if you do wish to form a company then please request one on this page on the steam forum:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/pikeshotte/discussions/0/276237094318290455/
There should be a link to the officers list I have complied, if you can't find them then PM me on here and I can send them over to you.
Nothing is definitely organised yet with this event but it would be great if we could get something together.

Regiment of Horse raised in 1643 upon Queen's arrival in England. It included many French volunteers and it had an infantry counterpart named The Queen's Regiment of Foote (not represented in the mod). It's noted as a horse regiment with the largest amount of French in it. It took place in many famous battles such as the Battle of Naseby or the First Battle of Newbury.

It has been a little while since we posted anything, apologies for that. Dazzer is mainly trying to iron out a few bugs and is finalising a few bits here and there. I meanwhile have been doing a bit more mapping. Here is one based upon Newark c.1646, specifically the 'Queen's Sconce':

As you can see it still needs work and a few textures need to be fixed but it gives a rough idea of what it will look like. The plan is is that half the defenders will deploy in the scones (the central fort in the middle of the map, the other half in Newark (top left of the first picture)and the attackers will spawn at Colonel-General Sydenham Poyntz's Headquarters opposite the Sconce (centre right). The objective is to take the sconce, the defenders in Newark can either try to support the sconce with their artillery or sally out and try to reinforce the sconce, something the attackers will have to take into consideration.
I am also working on a small training map based on the Old Artillery Grounds in London, here is a sneak preview of one of the features of the map:

We may not have the model of the church in-game for the first release but it should be in a follow up patch. Our Community Manager will hopefully aim to host a proper server for us to host events for the mod for when we release, he aims to do this over the summer (July/August) so keep an eye out around that time.

Hello people. Im very sorry to let you know that we have encountered a bug that makes the game crash whenever you join a faction. We have no idea what might be causing it, as we have done nothing with coding lately, so it will take us more time to resolve this issue. Again we are very sorry to prolong the release of the mod and hopefully we'll be able to fix it soon.

A quick update since it has been a few weeks since we last posted. We have had to go back to using a slightly earlier version of the mod that I had due to the reasons Dazzer has stated in previous posts. It is not too different though, primarily it is a matter of fixing some units that don't have the correct models/textures, fiddling with some stats and adding a few new regiments. The only serious problem I have noticed when mapping is that the weather seems to be bugged:
Spoiler
example A is the Marston Moor map with the weather settings I had set for it in an even earlier version of the mod where it worked fine:
Spoiler
(https://i.imgur.com/6imHXtx.jpg)
[close]
example B is the same map, nothing changed, in the newer version. I have had the same problems with new maps I have made:
Spoiler
(https://i.imgur.com/tAmbdEa.jpg)
[close]
Something has probably got changed somewhere along the line that should not have, hopefully we should be able to solve it, if not it is not a huge deal but I am aiming to have the correct weather for certain historical battles.
[close]
In the meantime here is a new map I am working on based on the Battle of Modbury (1643). It happened in February so I am not 100% certain there was snow on the ground at the time but I wanted to have a snow map for variety, again previously mentioned bugs apply so it is not perfect and I still have to add/change a few things:

- Marston Moor
- Philliphaugh
- Powick Bridge
- Old Artillery Ground (training map)
- Newark
- Modbury
- Auldearn (possibly)
- Oxburgh Hall (possibly)
- Whitehall (possibly)
- Westminster (possibly)

Finally, I started to redo that model of the Banqueting House at Whitehall I started a while back:

Hey guys just a small update. We are redoing some textures and meshes with the help of a fellow developer who is creating a mod about the ECW for WFaS so be  sure to check it out https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,368595.0.html
Recently I fixed the crashing bug and that saved us alot of time. However another minor bug appeared, which I will try to fix when I get home and hopefully we could release after that  :)
Stay tuned

what have you been doing for 2 years?

As long as their is progress even if its a bit slow, and we see new content i think its all fine, we cant really rush these things because, the attention to detail and fixing bugs and so on would be missing if we were to do so.

If you want advice on what unit to form then you can always PM me here on FSE. Hopefully we will be having a release event which the companies can participate in.

Don't download the mod, it get's stuck on loading textures, and the title of the mod is 'Bello Civilli', which quite frankly replaces the Bello Civilli mod for some reason.

Edit: Removed the mod, downloaded it from Mediafire again, 'Files corrupted', Dazzer, please fix this.

If it is any consolation, I am exactly in the same boat as you Penguin. I left mine a full hour and a half and it barely loaded beyond the 's' in textures. As Dazzer said though he is working on a patch.
Dazzer told me as well that there were some issues with the maps, if I can get my old version of the mod working I will have a look over and see if I can iron out some of the issues (mainly relating to bots spawning in water and losing their ammo, also apparently Marston Moor was a little too taxing for peoples fps so I may remove some of the wheat and other plants and see).

Okay. I think the ribbons are faulty. I see a blue ribbon and a red ribbon on parliamentary units. The orange ribbon should be light orange. Close to yellow. I never saw the green ribbon in the Leveller troops. The troops are confused.

Can't we make Fairfax 's ribbon green? Thus, the parliament becomes green and light orange in its troops. Or light orange with very light orange.

Blue ribbon was worn by Fairfax' soldiers to distinct from Essex' army which wore orange. Red ribbon was given to Ironsides only, I forgot to change that. And again green ribbon was worn by the Eastern association led by Manchester to distinct from others.
Why would I give Fairfax green? His soldiers used blue as I was told by our historical researcher whom I trust very much

The equestrian troops must have metal and black metal armor. For both sides.
The blue ribbon of Fairfax's troops must be different from the blue ribbon of King's troops. Maybe it could be lighter blue.
The Scottish and Irish units have the same strip patterns. The strip patterns of Scottish and Irish troops will be more impressive in different patterns.

Also I want to test it when it's updated.

I can not give orders to the soldiers. What would be the reason?
I play Napoleonic Wars for the first time.
Is there a different ordering / direction system?

It's the same as Warband, so you use F1, F2 etc. Make sure you have installed the newest version wich is version 2

So apparently arty officers can ride the horse they spawn on, but as soon as they get off, they can't get off.

Wack.

An excellent review video by Black Watch on the film "Cromwell" (1970). If you have spare time and have nothing to do, please consider watching the video and subscribing :)

I want to see your clothes fixed.
What clothes? What needs to be fixed about them?

I am very happy if you use these colors. The same applies to the Cuirassier troop. It is not pleasant to see the red color in parliamentary units.

I thank you for your understanding.
Parliamentarian cuirassiers are using orange

I chose Parliament. In the Cuirassier union there are soldiers with red ribbon.

Apologies for lack of updates of late. We have been doing some things over Christmas. I managed to get the first version of the Whitehall model done (credit to NPC99 for texturing it, please do check out his single player ECW mod he is working on: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,368595.0.html ):

I am currently reworking the model, it will be split into four different parts (the basement, the main hall, the roof and the annex on the side) and an interior will be added so people can go inside. These textures aren't final of course.
I am also doing some work on some other models (will post about them in the future).
