Landwehr Infantry Initially the Landwehr Infantry were organised into brigades of four battalions.Four companies of 150-200 men formed a battalion.
A company had acaptain, four lieutenants, one sergeant major, two drummers and sections of 12 men commanded by a corporal.
85 On 27 July, the Landwehr was considered well enough trained for fieldoperations, and the brigades were renamed regiments.
The Landwehr providedthirty-seven regiments with 149 battalions to the field army. This amounted tojust under 101,320 men.
Each infantry brigade of I-III Armeekorps had a lineinfantry regiment, a reserve regiment and one to two Landwehr regiments.
TheIV Armeekorps consisted almost entirely of Landwehr.
