Bienvenue / Welcome

Welcome on the official thread of the 8eArt, created the 09 of Februar 2016, by the ancien captain Zer0_C00l and reformed the 20 of March 2016 by the actual major James, the 8eArt is an independant regiment, which stands out by its democracy.

History of the regiment

The 8th Regiment of Artillery was created in 1794 with the formation of the 2nd Battalion, after Rennes, successively: Douai (1794-1800); Boulogne (1800-1808); Douai (1808-1810); Antwerp (1810-1811); Douai (1811-1814); Rennes (1814-1815); Rennes and La Rochelle in February 1815.

1805
1805 - Austerlitz
In the Battle of Austerlitz, the regiment of artillery caused heavy losses to the enemy. The guns broke the ice of the lake where the enemy took refuge. This earned them the Honours as the Austerlitz Regiment, on decision by Emperor Napoleon I.

1807
1807 - Friedland
The regiment fought in 1807 at Friedland, where its gunners caused great havoc among the Russian troops. During an inspection, general Muller said "These kind of man are great, the regiment is ordered, holding it bright and well-disciplined."

1812 : Russian Campaign

1813 : German Campaign

Leipzig

1814 : French Campaign
Craonne;
Laon;
Paris defence;

1815 : Belgium Campaign
Waterloo.

The regiment was disbanded in 1815, after Waterloo.
