European Infantry Cup - Season 5 - Suggestions and Info - August

Right guys, the intention is to have 1 final season of EIC after NWBC ends. From there it will most likely be laid to rest unless 1+ year from now there is still the community interest.

If there are any suggestions etc. for rule updates whether it be camping, officer aiming, officer rambo etc. please air them out here so I can look through at implementing later.

EDIT: Planned format is 2 groups of 8, into playoffs. As per every season this will get updated depending on sign ups.

The only real suggestion I can make heavily depends on what you want to do:

Another great EIC competition and the occasion for regiments to play a competitive format? -> The last EIC season was honestly great, with plenty of rising regiments, good storylines, good format & plenty of epic matches, especially near the end. Does not require more than that.

Something that will hype people more than just another great EIC season? -> Bring back your podcasts, they were legit super entertaining and you are made for that kind of TV show hosting role. Try to get some people that will work on other content. Give something for regiments to look up to other than playing. But alas it takes time and commitment and that's something that, if it was rare back in the days, has almost completely vanished.   

GI always had an unique eyes for that kind of things, maybe he will be able to help you more than the fake hype king can ever do

The idea always was to bring the podcasts and streams in general back. Yovko won't stop reminding me...

Nah but honestly I wasn't able to switch internet providers at my new place until very recently. I think people enjoyed Chriseh's weekly ban watch 

If I can find enough people willing to help out with the legwork things like previews, stats etc. are definitely doable to enhance the experience a bit. I am intending to automate the roster updates etc. as much as possible so that should lessen the workload.

Actual previews too for regiments would be good hype as the few regimental tournaments since EICS4 and even RGLS7 have felt bland and rushed.

May as well go all out for this if it’s the last EIC season

Believe it was 5 minutes last season without checking back. I know there were a few matches where they agreed with the admin to reduce down to like 3 minutes.

I still really don't like the idea of having it lower than 5 minutes. I get that some regiments don't like being camped against and the rule is there to protect them, but I also don't want to force regiments to play to their disadvantages.

can we also disallow people to shoot from spawn every single fucking round? i mean literally doing nothing else than that, waiting till the enemy approaches and tries to win rounds/games by that

Well I would say that comes under the camping rule anyway. They don't need to be sitting on a hill or anything for it to be considered "camping". But yes we can look at having a rule to make sure people leave their spawns.  I get what you mean with it being aids if they do it every round.

we had that case last tournament or here and there in friendly (!) 1vs1s and we were hella pissed.. so at least having a look at it would be great^^

Well thats why the thread was made. I can't see every single match, only the people playing them can give their opinions!
