Ctrl+J For Cav changed
« on: January 13, 2013, 04:33:24 am »
Hello, a suggestion I would love to see would be the ability to bind something other then J. I dont know whether or not this can be undone since it is "hardwired" and you can't change unless a text file is edited I believe if I am wrong I'd love to hear it. Anways just a quick suggestion  ::)

Actually, Ctrl+J is very comfortable for me, and I'm a most excellent hussar.

What would you rather have it changed to?

Hmmm... What would you change the J to if you were given the chance? I can see it being a little uncomfortable to some (Ctrl+J), however, most keys around WASD are hot-keyed for other things. Example: Crouching, Quest logs, switching first and third person, strafing, etc.

Not everyone uses the same key layout. Its the fact at being able to change it not the key itself.

CTRL+J doesn't affect gameplay in any way.

What's the purpose to change it as noone barely uses it?

People who play cavalry and play it well use Ctrl+J to rear a horse. It's an effective way to stop a collission, or make a quick pivot.

So you are saying that the Easter Egg which is not even mentioned in the Controls section is used by 'people who play cavalry well' to make a quick pivot? 'People who play cavalry well' STOP to turn around? Believe me you didn't face people who play cavalry well....

I have been playing cavalry for over 4 years now I might tell that I never used it in combat, simply because it makes me vulnerable for a couple of seconds.

I find it hard to believe you've never reared a horse. I play cavalry a lot, and used to be one of the best NA hussars on MM, maybe even still on NW. I use it at times of importance, it's a good tool to use if someone is chasing you. Just quickly turn and rear, they'll run right past you. I can't tell you how many times I've done this and it worked.

Ctrl + J is the easiest way to get an easy kill because the most of cav players people never expect this :)

Yet it also leaves you very exposed, as you can't move or manoever for a couple of seconds.

Don't do that halt move on public servers, because when you stand still people will shot you.Although in cav groupfigthing it is very surprising and very effective.(Heavy cav is the best cav)
Edit:I support the suggestion..Very hard to do that since you have to press both buttons.

I can tell you right now....you don't know what you're talking about.

I do support Peppers suggestion.
Even though it's a bit weird to learn at first...you get used to it.
But it would be awesome to have it something else than J.

5arge, not a God damn idiot.
