Hiya all! Title says it all, here is mine:

Johannes Volker

Early Life
Born on August 24th, in the year 1788, Johannes Volker was the second son of a wealthy Coal mine owner in South-West Silesia, Reinhardt Volker. Hailing from a coal mining village just outside of Breslau, Johan grew up to a life of luxury; he did not have to work in the mines, and spent most of his days reading his fathers books. As a young man, Johan knew that his older brother would take control of the family's mine when his father passed, and decided to dedicate the early years of his life to his education. Johan has a very gifted student, talented in latin, mathematics, and philosophy, Johan soon outgrew his Volksschule teaching, and decided it was time to go to a university.

Education
In 1805 Johan packed up his belonging (a few sketchbooks, a journal, and a collection of books on philosophy) and moved into Breslau to attend university there. His first year Johan excelled in his philosophy classes, but received negative marks by many of his other teachers for his habit of questioning their judgment, and for refusing to follow direct instructions. Loving life among the middle-class educated population of Breslau, Johan spent many nights in taverns, houses, libraries and other such locations ferociously debating with his peers. Were it philosophy, politics, war, or any other number of subjects, Johan would debate for hours on end. This explosive personality led him to become a leader among students, guiding them with his fiery words.

Invasion
One year later, when Napoleon's forces invaded Prussia, Johan longed to fight for his home; however, because of his age, and his father's influence he could not fight for Prussia. Luckily for him he was saved the bloody fights at Jena and other locations throughout Prussia, and watched in pain as his country was subjugated by France. Fuming at the defeat of his country, Johan would dedicate the next years of his life to fighting the French in any way possible.

For the next three years of his life, Johan would outwardly speak against the French, and organized students against them. Never taking any real action, Johan simply riled up his classmates with patriotic fever and preached to them the glory of an independent German state. This period of resistance culminated in 1809, when Johan was invited to the New University of Berlin, to be taught by Johann Gottlieb Fichte, a strong advocate for revolution. Johan was taught the ideals of German nationalism, and became even more fiercely opposed to French rule. For the next three years, Johan would remain at the New University of Berlin, learning and growing more and more bold with his speeches and writings against the french.

The Wars of Liberation
When  King Frederich Wilhelm III sent out his call for the German people to rise in 1812, and called for the creation of a landwehr, Johan was one of the most adamant supporters of the revolution and quickly rushed back home to Silesia. Back home Johan wasted no time, and with the help of his father and older brother, began mobilizing the people in and around Breslau, calling for them to come join and fight the French. Together they rounded up well over a thousand men, and gather with other men from around Silesia to form the Silesian landwehr. The men from in and around Breslau were numbered 4th in line of the Silesain landwehr regiments. Johan's father Reinhardt was made Major of the First Battalion. His older Brother Heinrich was made Kapitain of B Kompanie. As for Johan, he was made PremierLeutnant of the 1. Zug 1. Battalion. The brave Silesians were low on equipment and weapons, but high in spirit. Marching on to meet with the rest of the army of the 6th coalition the 4. Silesian landwehr was attached to the army of Silesia, 7th Brigade, along with the 15. Silesian Landwehr and 3 battalions of the Leib Infanterie regiment. Over the summer of 1813 the 4th was trained by the Leib regiment until their soldiers were just as ready for battle as the footguards.

To Battle
Meeting armies of the 6th Coalition the Prussian army marched from  Wartenburg to meet Napoleon on the field at Leipzig. Part of the 380,000 fallied force, the 7th Brigade was initially held in reserve. Johan surveyed the battlefield, awed by it's sheer scale and horrible destruction. Having never seen combat before, Johan was sick at his first sight of a Russian soldier, torn in two by a cannon ball. Two days after the start of the battle, on October 18th 1813, 30,000 men of the Silesian army were moved to the front by the Parthe River to reinforce  Langeron's Russians. The 7th Brigade was called upon to be some of those reinforcements. The next day the Prussian reinforcements were sent forward to capture Leipzig, and to prevent a french escape. The 7th Brigade was in the second wave of attackers to attempt to pry Leipzig from the French. On the Chilly morning, Johan lined his platoon in front of the village, calming his men, although he himself was shaking to the bone. Just a few hundred meters away, the dying groans of hundreds of men could be heard, an endless chorus of agony amid the thundering artillery. After what seemed like hours, the order to advance was given, and the 4th Regiment began it's slow methodical advance to Leipzig. Just seconds after the advance was started, prussian Fusiliers were sent forward to harry the French; With bullets cracking all around then the men of 1. Zug advanced, unwavering, at 150 meters the first man as sent tumbling to the floor as a bullet lodged itself in his gut, the unteroffizers yelled to close the gaps and the march continued. Soon the dull thud of bullets hitting their targets became a familiar sound, as more and more men fell out of line. At 60 meters, when Johan could begin to make out the facial features of the men shooting from behind the barricades, he ordered the charge. A deafening cry went up as the Silesians were let free, individual clumps of men began charging individual ad-hoc fortresses. All over Men in blue and yellow climbed over thrown together barricades, bayoneting the weary defends where they stood. Elated by the charge at the barricade Johan rallied a dozen men around him and charged a house holding a collection of Frenchman and Poles, spanning a dozen different regiments. The door was barred by a stout Polish sergeant, who had a missing tooth and a unruly mustache on his upper lip. His face frozen in a snarl Johan lowered his pistol and fired it point-blank into the Poles open mouth. Spraying gore on the wall behind him, the Pole offered an opportunity for the men surrounding Johan to charge the door and effortlessly make short work of the cramped French and Polish defenders in the hovel. Johann was in shock, not believing that he took the man's life. The trance as broken quickly when one Johan's unteroffiziers forcefully pulled him into the blood soaked cottage. As Johan looked out the small window of the hovel, he was blown backwards by a massive explosion. Ears ringing he looked up to see the bridge prematurely detonated, leaving thousands of French dead, and thousands more stranded. Aware of how hopeless the situation was, the Frenchmen on the wrong side of the river quickly gave up their arms, and surrendered to the Prussians.

The Battle of Leipzig was won.

More to come tommorrow night!

Community / Public Drill Book "School Of The Platoon"
« on: August 28, 2013, 06:52:42 am »
School Of The Platoon

The public drill book is a guide created to serve as a public resource for members of the Napoleonic wars community to use for their regiment. This drill book contains an extensive collection of commands for lines fighting in double ranks, put together from the manuals of the 1stEPI, 19te, 4teSLR, and 1tesPmrs. The original formations, and the original diagrams, as well as the name "School of the Platoon" are all made by the glorious Argus of the 1stWFI. I have taken the original school of the platoon, and modified it slightly to make it the "School of the Platoon" that you are currently viewing. Thank you for reading, if you would like to use this particular drill book, please do as you will need no permission from me. I would like to state again, I did not come up with these maneuvers, and I would like to  thank all of the regiments previous to me that have gone through so much work to create these formations.

I would like to dedicate this training manual, and to the ideas that it expresses, to the wonderful 1stEPI. The EPI are the ones that wrote the book on double line formations, and have been the biggest influence on me in the NW community. I would like to thank them for all they have done for our group of players, and all they have done for me. None of this would be possible without you guys, thank. Good Fight, join the lith.

"PlatoonForm on my left/right"

To form the platoon, the officer will take position and call for the platoon to fall in and the platoon will fall in on his left or right in files of two. The end files of the line should be made by men the rank of Gefreiter (Private First Class) or above.  After the Gefreiters fall in the rest of the line will fall in one at a time, with 3/4th's of a man spacing in-between each file of two men. Once all men have formed in this fashion, the line is ready to move out.

"Platoon, By Files Right Prepare to Move Out. Forward March"

When the platoon has formed, and moves out in line, the officer will give the command, "By files right forward march". This means that the most right hand file will begins marching forward as soon as the officer gives the march command. Once The rear ranking man of rightmost file has moved out and pass the shoulder of the man to his left , the file to the left of them will begin to move, once they have moved out the file to their left will move out, so on and so forth.

"Platoon, Prepare to Hold. Platoon Hold"

When advancing by files right and the officer wants to bring the line to a hold he will give the command "Prepare to Hold" notifying the men that they will be stopping, continued by, "Hold". When the command "Hold" is given, the files fall in one at a time to the officers left. Each file making sure to be 3/4th's of a man to the left of the file to their right.

"Platoon, Right Wheel, March"

If the needs arises to change the angle in which the line is facing, the officer will order a wheel. When the officers calls, "Right wheel" the man on the extreme right of the line will move forward and hold his musket in the air to signify the angle of the wheel (the angle will be a 90º unless there is an obvious target such as a line, in which the man will align the wheel to face the line directly). On "March" his file partner will march to meet the lead man. Once he has gone the file to his left will take up position on the rightmost file's left. Once the man in the second rank of a file has passed the shoulder of the front rank man to his left, that file will then go. This process will continue until the entire line is facing right instead of center.

"Platoon, Right Wheel, March"

When moving our by files right, the line can be ordered to do a right wheel while marching, allowing line to change from marching forward to marching to the right. When the order is given, the line will swing around to be on the officers left, who has pivoted a 90º to his right. The line will continue to move and function as it did during a normal by files right movement.

"Platoon, Right Face, Prepare to Move Out, Forward March"

Instead of moving out by files right, a formed up line can choose to move out in a column of files. To do so the officer will simply give the order, "Right Face" and the line will face right. At "Prepare to move out, forward march" the column of files will all begin marching forward, one file after another.

"Platoon, Left Wheel, March"

Moving out in a column of files, the platoon can maneuver by wheels. On the order "Right wheel, march" the officer will make a 90º turn to his right, as will each set of files that comes into column behind him. No file should cut corners, and all should be making a sharp 90º turn exactly where the officer does his.

"Platoon, Counter Wheel, March"

When the line is forced to turn around abruptly, the command "Counter wheel, march" will be used to turn the line completely around. The officer will also signify which direction the counter wheel will be turning. For example, a counter wheel left will be to the left side of the line, and vice-versa. Like a regular wheel on the move,  the men will not cut in line, but wait to wheel where the officer has.

"Platoon, Deploy Line on My Left, March"

When the line needs to deploy from a column of files into line, the officer will give the command, "deploy line on my left, march" and the platoon will switch from a column to a line. The left hand column will form the front rank of the line, and the right column will form the rear rank. The movement is a front to back movement, with the file directly behind the officer moving to form on his left first, and then continuing on after that. Once the movement is complete, the platoon will be positioned on the officers left in a double rank line.

That concludes the school of the Platoon! Thanks for reading. All credit goes to the EPI for making any of this possible.

Regiments / The Prussian Army
« on: August 13, 2013, 01:28:15 am »

Prussian army picture day coming soon!
Für das Vaterland!

The Prussian Army has no Commander. Each regiment is led by its own leadership. The purpose of the Army is to cooperate when on the battlefield, and to work together in training and other events. In army battles a commander may be elected as the situation arises from amongst the Regimental leaders.

In addition to this, The army does not enforce any sort of rank schemes on any army regiment. New Members retain their already entrenched ranking systems of their regiment.  However, as Prussians, all members will be expected to act with discipline on and off the field and a standard will be enforced within the regiments. All must represent their regiment and Army well. We run a mature atmosphere, and will not tolerate any sort of childish behavior. Having said that, trainings and line-battles are always an enjoyable experience when there are other regiments to work with. It will be up to the regimental commander to enforce the standard of discipline within their unit.

The Prussian Army is involved in weekly army trainings. We openly extend an invitation to any army regiment to attend the army training while it is not mandatory. we host regular community line-battles, as well as, army wide events and battles between other community groups. There is a server provided for all Regiments in the Prussian army to train on and use as desired.

The army is open to all types of regiments with priority to Infantry and Light Infantry groups. Any Prussian regiment who would like to get involved with the Prussian Army will be encouraged to message a Regimental leader of an already serving Prussian army regiment for discussion between all leaders before a decision is made.

The Prussian Army Teamspeak Server is open to the Public, and offers a relaxed atmosphere for any and all who come in. Not only is the Prussian Army Teamspeak Server the home of all regiments within the army, but also the location of the famed "Public Regiment," for all wishing to participate in the large Linebattles without wanting to make the commitment of joining a regiment full-time.  The North American Hardcore Line-battles are hosted on the Prussian Army Teamspeak every Tuesday and Friday Evenings, and prior to the linebattles all regimental leaders come onto the teamspeak server to discuss logistics.  Feel free to join teamspeak and make some new friends!
Address of the Prussian Army Teamspeak:
ts3.1stepi.com

All of these events are weekly events and occur at the same date and time each week. Attendance is not mandatory but army force members are always invited to attend, even if their regiment does not have a large enough showing to constitute a separate line

Linebattle Events:
- Couresty of the North American Hardcore Linebattle
Tuesday Linebattle 8pm EST / 1am GMT
Friday Linebattle 9pm EST/ 2am GMT

Army Training Opportunities:
Thursday Training 8pm EST/ 1am GMT
Saturday Training 3pm EST/ 8pm GMT

The Prussian Army does not charge any sort of money in order to join the Army.  However, the Prussian Army cannot run on shear discipline alone. It costs a lot in order to host the Public team-speak, as well as provide the servers for Army Member use. It isn't required of anyone to pay anything, however, all members of all regiments are encouraged to donate in order for us to keep the army going! Please consider donating to the Prussian Army.

1. Ostpreussiche Infanterie [1stEPI]
  • We are the 1st East Prussian Infantry Regiment 1st Battaillon, Kompanie A, numbered 1st Regiment in the Prussian Army.  We are determined to restore Prussia's honor after the disasterous defeats at Jena and Aürstadt.  With the Prussian Army's humiliating defeat at the hands of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte occupied our capital and stained the honor of the Prussian people.  We invoke the name of Frederick the Great and his glorious armies that swept across Europe laying waste to the enemies of Prussia, to give us the strength and the courage to overcome the Corsican's oppression of our people.  Frederick the Great and his armies stood alone against a united Europe and prevailed.  Now we must do the same.  Onward, to victory!  Für das Vaterland!

  •   The 1st East Prussian Infantry Was formed in December 2010 for the purpose of accurately representing historic military structure and tactics of the Napoleonic Era, to the best of our ability, and in so doing, form a tight-knit, elite Regiment of well trained, disciplined, and virtuous soldiers. Among other Regiments, we are quite unique in a number of ways. We place great emphasis on practicing accurate military structure and tactics of the Napoleonic Era. Among our ranks will be found no self-proclaimed generals leading handfuls of privates, but rather meaningful structure based on the size of our unit. Furthermore, we are committed to developing and practicing tactics of the period (with regard to practicality and feasibility in the setting of MM), to a level unrivaled by any existing Regiment. For these purposes, we are looking for intelligent, humble, and mature recruits willing and able to listen, learn, and contribute.

19. Infanterie-Regiment [19te]
  • We (veterans, newcomers, and casual players alike) have formed this regiment to create a respectful, fun, and entertaining environment in which players can enjoy while playing Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars. We enjoy the use of teamwork and tactics, whether it be in a line battle or just casually on a server. We have created a meaningful rank structure, while not going overboard, and promote the use of more historical, line-like tactics.  We also use our Artillery and Cavalry detachments to increase our effectiveness as an elite fighting force. Regiments were created for line battles, and we shall do our part to participate, compete, and have fun - respectfully.

  • As we were formed in April 2011, we boast a few years of experience, creating a regiment that is anything but average. We are always welcoming to new players, even more so - anyone with the same attitude and ideals as us will no doubt find a great home here. Advancement in the regiment is most certainly possible - even into our ranks of officers. We have no set limit for our officers - instead we promote those with the abilities to lead in and out of the game, and who have put the time and dedication into our community. Every member is a respected addition to our community, and we will always do what we can to assist them.

Garde Volontär Jäger Escadron [GV_Jaeger]
  • The Garde Volontär Jäger Escadron is a North American infantry regiment, representing the Jägers of the Garde Volontär Jäger Escadron. We aim to become one of the best skirmish regiments on the field of battle, using our superior tactics and marksmanship to tear the enemy force apart.  We expect utmost maturity during events; our members are expected to hold a high level of self control and not engage in acts such as being disrespectful towards other players or spamming chat needlessly. That being said, we are a very relaxed regiment and enjoy having fun with each other over TeamSpeak and playing other games together.

  • The GV_Jaeger is currently operating with the Prussian Army. We exercise cohesion and communication between the participating regiments during Linebattle events.  We operate together in support of one another to present a unified tactical force on the field with Line Companies, Skirmishers, Artillery and Cavalry just as a period Army Brigade would. This contrasts with other regiments who are unable to achieve such a high level of cohesion. With our combined might we shall dominate the battlefield. Interested in trying us out? 13. Infanterie-Bataillon [13te]
  • The 13. Infanterie-Regiment was formed on 1 July, 1813. The regiment was formed from the 1st Musketeer (officer and NCO cadre) and 3rd Reserve battalions of the 1st East Prussian Infantry Regt (Nr 1), the 2nd East Prussian Reserve Musketeer Battalion and the 3rd Lithuanian Reserve Musketeer and 1st Lithuanian Reserve Fusilier battalions. It was titled 1st Reserve Infantry Regiment at this time and was considered to be an ad-hoc and temporary unit. With the reorganisation of the Prussian army in March 1815, the unit was made a part of the new regular army, taking the title 13th Infantry Regiment on 25 March 1815. The regiment was not officially granted the title "1. Westfälisches IR Nr 13" until 10 March 1823.

  • Rules of Engagement:
    1. Try not to be a dick to anyone, trolling or otherwise. We're (mostly) friends here
    2. Follow orders and be able to understand what I want. If you are a jackass,
and make us look like we are, then you're gone
    3. All admins are to be respected. At least, in public.
    4. Don't regiment hop, if you sign up you're expected to stay unless you have a good reason
    5. If you can help it, try not to shoot officers/standard bearers. Charging from either side renders this rule null
    6. All server, unspoken, and general rules are to be followed.

1. Westfälischen Infanterie Regiment 1. zug [1stWFI]
  • We are the first platoon of the 1st Westphalian Infantry Regiment. Our goal is to create a large, authentic regiment consisting of multiple, independently managed platoons which operate as a single, cohesive battalion. Our passion is authenticity, and we endeavor to create a fun, mature, and welcoming community.

  • Code of Conduct
All members, regardless of rank, are required to uphold our code of conduct at all times.
    1. On Respect: Be respectful to everyone, regardless of the circumstance. This includes your fellow members in the 1stWFI, members of other regiments, public players, etc.  It also means respecting server rules, and the decisions of admins and superiors.
    2. On Vulgarity: Limit vulgarity, and exhibit respectable behaviour. While occasional use of profanity is acceptable, excessively vulgar speech is not. While in formation, unsightly behavior such as "head-banging" is not acceptable.
    3. On Retaliation: Never retaliate. Whether you are being insulted, team killed, or whatever the circumstance, do not retaliate, as it only escalates the situation. Never teamkill under any circumstance ; it is not acceptable.

4. Schlesische Landwehr Regiment [4teSLR]

  • The 1st battalion, 4th Silesian landwehr is an infantry regiment formed in the year 1809, to kick the French out of our glorious Prussia. Made up of brave Silesian men aged 25 to 40, what the 4th Silesian lacked in shine and polish, like the rest of the Prussian army, made up for in dedication to the cause. Because of the many financial troubles of Prussia at the time, it fell upon many average men to pay for their uniforms, and weapons and other such items they would need to combat the French. Fighting in the "Wars of Liberation" the brave Silesian lads beat the French out of Prussia, and eventually back to France, serving valiantly until 1815.

  •   The 4th Landwehr regiment is a community formed on April 27, 2013 by both experienced, and new players in the Napoleonic Wars community. We are a continuation of the 1tes Pommerches Infanterie regiment, disbanded just 2 months ago. With experienced officers and NCO's we hope to offer players a serious, disciplined regiment that utilized the historical use of double rank lines.  We are very active, having 3 linebattles and two trainings a week. We have long, in depth trainings in which we hone our skills in shooting, discipline, formations, and hand to hand combat.

General Discussion / Skirmisher pairs
« on: May 13, 2013, 04:07:37 pm »
What do you guys think of the idea of skirmisher pairs? Do any of you use the idea yourself when skirmishing? Do you think there are advantages and disadvantages? Personally, I have never tried it, but I think having two man teams might be effective, as these men can concentrate on targets together, help guide each others shots, and can protect each other when charged.

Discuss.

« on: May 11, 2013, 10:54:25 pm »
Hey guys could anyone help me arrange my teamspeak server groups? I have multiple problems:

1. My server groups I have created for the sections mess with people's teamspeak, so they can not see anyone else currently in teamspeak

2. I have rank insignia's but I can not figure out how to get them in descending order (hghest ranked at the top of the channel).

3. I want the server groups icons (right side of the screen) to displayed in a certain order, any help?

If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

General Discussion / Regimental Sub units
« on: April 29, 2013, 02:46:33 am »
Hey Guys! I was wondering what sub-units your regiments use! Do you use Platoons? Companies? Squads? How do you organize your regiment? And how effective do you think your system is? What system is the most effective?

This thread is meant to be a civilized discussion on the topic, please respect others opinions.  8)

My personal opinion is that regiments with large numbers (~70) are very efficient when split into two platoons. (Zugs for us Prussians :P) I believe two platoons is most effective because:

1. after a certain point (anywhere from 12-18 guys) lines become unwieldily, and huge targets.
2. Two platoons in the same Teamspeak can communicate and work together

^An example of a company split into two platoons.
All credit for this picture goes to the glorious EPI! I am just using it as an example!

Smaller Sub units
I also believe that units can be split up more than at the platoon level! Gasp!. I imagine that one could efficiently chop a platoon into multiple sections/squads. Each squad could be made up of 8-12 men, and be led by either a Corporal or Sergeant. I believe the advantages to this system would include:

1. Increased unit cohesion: The units would be smaller, and the men in each section would get closer to one another, and get used to fighting and being with one another.
2. NCO training: As each NCO would be in charge of his respective section, he would get some experience leading them, and get used to having responsibility.
3. Recruit integration: With a smaller amount of men, the recruits would be assimilated into the regiment much easier, as they NCO can put more individual attention into each soldier.
4. Individual training: The NCO in charge of the section would make sure that the entire unit understands his commands and so forth, where an officer leading 30~ men would have a hard time knowing whether each individual soldier knows his stuff.
5. Tactical advantages: Sections could hold some tactical advantages like:
Falling in: Each section would have a general area where they fall into line, so forming up would be much quicker.
Section firing commands: each section could fire one after the other, creating a more deadly version of ripple fire

Now Discuss! And try to be nice! :)

I don't think this guy should be banned, because I don't think this brakes a rule, but a player stalled, for just about 5 minutes, by taking a boat, and running it into the corner of the map. NM_Jeff is his name. His actions are what made juice Kelly kill him.

His plan.

Him.
Still stalling as the round is about to end.

General Discussion / Regarding Cavalry
« on: April 11, 2013, 09:32:03 pm »
Lately during linebattles I have been paying close attention to cavalry, and how efficient they are in combat. While observing cavalry, I have been shocked at their complete dominance of infantry. I have repeatedly seen cavalry regiments cut down 40+ infantrymen without major casualties. This leads me to the question....

Are cavalry overpowered? Or do infantrymen simply not know how to fight cavalry?

In this thread I would like members of the community to discuss these questions and share their experiences on how to fight cavalry, and show others what formations are most effective to fight cavalry. To start I will give my opinion.

When thinking about an anti-cavalry formation one must take many things into consideration. These things are:

1. Speed The formation must be able to form itself very quickly, as cavalry may come out of nowhere, and may attack infantrymen unexpectedly.

2. Simplicity The formation must not be overcomplicated, as like stated beforehand, it must be made quickly, and must be easy for all the men in the regiments to easily get into this formation.

3. Flexibility Because of the varying amounts of men a unit will have during linebattles, and because of varying terrain and scenarios that a regiment may encounter, the formation must be at least somewhat flexible.

4. Combat Effectiveness The unit obviously must be able to fight cavalry. At the very least the formation must be able to keep cavalry at bay, however, in a perfect world scenario the formation should be able to efficiently fight mounted enemies.

In my opinion I think these are the most important rules to an anti-cav formation. What do you guys think? More to come to this thread slightly later.

General Discussion / Objective based linebattles
« on: March 13, 2013, 08:09:05 pm »
I wasn't sure if this should belong in the suggestions board, but oh well, here it is. I have been thinking about it, and I would like to see objective based linebattles. For the events, you could have regiments sign up to be an attacker or defender, so the  sides are balanced (more attackers then defenders). In the thread for the linebattle you could post what the objectives are; For example one side is attacking, and has room for 130 people. The other team is defending an objective and can have 70 people. For an objective you can have it be a village, a bridge, a hill or something else of the sort. Of course the defenders have to hold it, and the attackers have to take it.

To spice things up a bit, you could have a time limit of about ~20 minutes, so that the attackers really have to push to capture their objective quickly. If the defenders hold for 20 minutes, the attackers have to attack the same objective next round. You could also have multiple objectives per map. For example:

A map (custom made) has 3 villages. One in the middle and one closer to each sides spawn.

Objective One: Both sides fight for control of the village. Whoever has more men in the village after 20 minutes holds the village. If nobody holds it, this continues until someone captures the village.

Objective Two: Lets say that one side captures the middle village, the next round they will have the objective to secure the village closer to the other teams spawn. If they capture that village they win the map.

This is just one scenario of many.

Possible Objectives:
- Capture/Defend a village (or multiple)
- Capture/Defend a bridge or river crossing (Or defends have to prevent attackers from crossing, and must blow the bridge)
- Capture/Defend a natural landmark (Large hill for example)
- Both sides fight for control of a single objective (could be any of the previously stated)
- More to come

This is just a possible idea, if you have any imput/ideas/feedback please feel free to post it :P.

General Discussion / Moments of Glorious Victory
« on: February 25, 2013, 05:14:23 am »
Hey guys! I would like to hear your stories of victory, or something really cool you did with your regiment in a linebattle. To start I will give you my story.

We are playing our regular sunday event, the Prussian Army battle. We were playing on a rainy map, and visibility was low. The second round we had been marching around pretty much the entire round, seeing very little combat. We then see a hill with an enemy line on it. We go up the hill to attack them along with two other lines. We go around the lines left flank (the 17e) while the other lines take them from the front. We fire a volley, killing a good number, and then pick the rest of them off with our guys firing at will. I hear one of our guys shout a warning, and I see a line behind us (19te). So we about face immediately, and fire a point blank volley into them, practically wiping them out, before we mop them up in melee. We took out two complete lines, with under 3 dead. Here is the video. Now, let's hear your stories!
