one question, how did you start as the republic of Kent?
Started as William the conqueror, created the duchy of kent, and then gave it to a vassal mayor. Lately I've just been doing it through console commands because it's much more efficient that way.

Did your son/heir have some land?

Makes no difference, because of NW there was a Warband change that effected the spin speed while attacking over the whole of warband and any mod, so even if you change it all back the melee would still not be the same due to the slow spin speed.

To be frank, no (however much I want it). Progress is progress, and if we turn our backs on it, wel be betraying the developers and all hard work they put into making NW. If we want to have th most fun overall, we just have to keep moving forward.

In this situation I think that "progress" would be decided on the certain person opinion and its not necessarily betraying them, just because you want to play something they made before their latest (because its better IMO) doesn't mean you are going against them. Personal preference.

But like I said above, there is no way back to proper MM due to the spin speed change.

So, I started a game as the Doge of Kent, and it was going very well until my first character died, and it said the game was over because my primary title became a republic. What? I had an heir as well, so I have no idea why that happened.

I just started a new game as the Grand Mayor of Holstein, so we'll see how that goes.

Anyone know why it would end my game when my first character died even though I had an heir?

Was your(or your son's) capital on a coastal province? if not then that's why, when you die and your son becomes king if your capital is not on a coastal province it terms him into an unplayable republic so you need a coastal capital or if your son is landed then his capital needs to be a coastal province.

Strange how the 8lr managed to win so many tournaments.

BY ODINS BEARD! That is insane, +126 gold per month woooooooooooooot

I was playing as Gotland, no screenshots but I had +8 per month at my best, and then i had to go sleep  :o

had it up to about 170-180 without even taking anymore land.

The main problem with the DLC is that even though you get less men from cities you can upgraded them really really fast due to the fact that you have so much money coming in which allows you to get each town with a few hundred soldiers each, when I had all of Ireland and all the towns I had (6) were upgraded up loads I was getting around 3500 soldiers from my demesne and 3500 from vassals but then at the same time I had 3500 Retinues where 700 of  then are heavy cav and the rest are light cav, If I was to change them to archers, heavy inf or light inf that number would double.

So just from that I have around 11000 soldiers and with my army raised I was still earning around 150 or more a month so I could easily get thousands and thousands of mercs. At one point I was playing I had almost 11000 gold even though I was constantly upgrading thing, which basically means unless someone else bought all the mercs before a merchant republic then its GG.

*Golden Horde comes* *Republic rofl stomps them*

Republics are boring me so far, and I'm upset that you can't create your own republic by granting a title to a vassal mayor and then playing as them. When I try to play as them, it says "Cannot play as a republic". Is that a bug, or did they do that on purpose?

I am having fun with the release vassal option though. I just released every single one of my vassals as the HRE, and now I only have a castle for a holding.

you can create your own republic, look above, I was the Republic of Ireland.

Republics are over powered, too easy to play and unless they get a HUGE nerf they will be unstoppable in MP games (human players)

note the date
