What weaponry do you plan on giving the CS cav seeing that the Union has spencers?
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Spencers could have some downsides, ie: limited ammo and makes a lot of smoke when fired:

The Spencer showed itself to be very reliable under combat conditions, with a sustainable rate-of-fire in excess of 20 rounds per minute. Compared to standard muzzle-loaders, with a rate of fire of 2–3 rounds per minute, this represented a significant tactical advantage.[10] However, effective tactics had yet to be developed to take advantage of the higher rate of fire. Similarly, the supply chain was not equipped to carry the extra ammunition. Detractors would also complain that the amount of smoke produced was such that it was hard to see the enemy.[11]

Not sure what the devs will choose as a comparable weapon but the southern cavalry may have used pistols quite a bit afaik:

Pistols, which Southern cavalrymen generally preferred over sabers, were usually six-shot revolvers, in .36- or .44-caliber, from Colt or Remington. They were useful only in close fighting since they had little accuracy. It was common for cavalrymen to carry two revolvers, for extra firepower, and John Mosby's troopers often carried four each.

Possibly the Union having a Spencer and saber against CS cav with an Enfield Carbine, saber and pistol. Would be difficult to balance but im sure the devs got this.

Can we duel wield a revolver and saber?

EDIT:
Why did they have multiple revolvers when they could just have several cases instead (the cylinder that carried the rounds)?

Meh... Please no duel wielding.

And I guess they had several due to being able to fire more rapidly. Revolver barrel changes take time. On some you cant even do it.

So how will we load the revolvers in game then? Changing barrels? Would take ages to actually reload each shot. It's like loading a musket six times.

You exaggerate, but that's pretty much how most revolvers were reloaded at the time. Any way, once reloaded, you can make 6 rapid shots and that's a lot.

Loading the 1861 Colt is a pain in the ass. The caps are small as hell. I could imagine guys in RL battles fumbling over those all the time.

Musket is actually faster than the non metallic cartridges but I'm sure they will figure out a way to make it accessible. Probably just increase the speed like they did for NW pistols.

Hi Milly  :-*. I sent you a pm.

I would imagine reloading a revolver on horseback would be especially difficult while the horse gallops

Try impossible. In fact, it would even be a challenge in step.
