Released Mods / Getting your own Sub-Board
« on: February 01, 2022, 04:56:46 am »
In order to obtain a sub-board for your mod, please read the following post and take note of the rules and regulations surrounding the use of a Sub-Board on this forum.

Requirements for a Sub forum
  •     There must be a playable version of the Mod available for Public Download.
  •     The initial Mod thread (On the In Development Forum) must have 15+ pages of relevant replies, and show signs of recent activity
  •     The mod must be large enough to warrant a board of it's own
  •     The mod must be compatible with the latest stable version of M&B: Napoleonic Wars
  •     For legal purposes, mods which include use of third-party intellectual property (For instance, pre-existing lore or background information from books or games) cannot be considered eligible for a sub-board

Applying for a sub board
The lead author of the modification must write a pm to a forum moderator with the information stated below. The request will be considered and if the requirements are met, the board will be created in due course. Please note that the forum moderator team may refuse any request for a sub-board at their own discretion. If your request for a sub-board is denied, there will likely be a valid reason given by the moderator in question. If and when the issues raised are resolved, you may re-apply for a sub board, highlighting your resolution of those issues. Repeated requests for sub-boards will be ignored, and potentially punished.

When applying for a sub-board, please include the following details in your PM:
    •     The name of the Sub-Board or Modification
    •     Moderator(s). Initially these will be granted to a maximum of Two team members. If there is significant need for further moderators, then requests for more moderator positions can be submitted by either of the two existing moderators on the board. Please note that we will refuse privileges for any member who we feel is unsuitable for the privilege.
Additional Sub-Boards

Mod authors or teams who require multiple sub-boards within their initial mod board may submit requests for the extra boards a minimum of 2 days after their original board has been created, and once an additional set of requirements have been met.
  • There must be an obvious need for the extra sub-board to be granted. Examples of these requirements would be an extra board for Clan threads, or event organisation
  • The mod team applying for the board must have shown their capability and maturity in moderating the existing board they have been given, for a minimum period of 2 days after their initial board was granted.
Sub-Board rules

The rules applied to the general forum also apply to any sub-boards created here. Additional rules may be put in place by the sub-board moderators, provided they do not contradict pre-existing rules laid down by the global forum moderators.

The moderation of a sub-board is the responsibility of the Moderators of that board. This means that it is the Moderators responsibility to maintain the rules within their own board, however the Global moderation team will intervene in the event of gross rule infringement, or if a moderator seems unwilling or unable to maintain the global forum standards within their board.

Any complaints about a moderator of a sub-board should be brought to the attention of our global Moderator staff via PM.

Removal of Sub-Boards

A sub-board may be removed at any time by the Global Moderation staff, without prior warning or further explanation. Mod developers are required to maintain the activity of their mod, and any mod which looks abandoned is at risk of removal by the moderation staff. If a mod team decides to drop a project and therefore no longer require a sub-board, then we ask that they please inform us of their decision so that we can deal with the board in question. Failure to do so may adversely affect your chances of getting a sub-board for other mods in the future.
In addition to this, there must always be a downloadable and current version of the mod available for play. If for any reason this is not possible, then the mod team have a maximum of 7 days to resolve the issue, before the global moderator team intervene.[/list]

Hello all! We have created a new sub-board for the competitive tournaments under the Events board in order for you to more easily navigate the forum and find the kind of event you are looking for. All competitive tournaments and events will be located in this new sub-board, and the regular events will remain in the same area that they were in before.

In order to further help the organizers of larger tournaments, we also support and encourage the creation of sub-boards for larger tournaments. If you are the host of a tournament/event and wish to apply to have your own sub-board created, you can head over to here and submit an application to have your own sub-board created, should you meet all the crtieria required.

Best regards,
The FSE Moderation Team

Events: SA / BCoF Event/Tournament Child Board Request
« on: February 01, 2022, 04:45:29 am »
All -
With the creation of the new sub-board, the moderation team/CRs have discussed and determined that you can now submit applications for your respective areas' event.  Here's the criteria (please ensure you meet the criteria prior to submission), and the application form.  The moderation team will process these request(s) and respond to the organizer(s) of the event.  We're currently determining the proper channel for following up, but for the time being, please submit follow-ups to me.

Criteria

1) Recurrence:  The activity in the child board needs to be more than a once-per-year activity.  This means that as long as people are talking about previous, current, or future seasons, you meet the criteria.
2) Quality/Moderation: The competitive event needs to show they've ran well over a sustained period of time (minimum of two instances - seasons, iterations) with good management (both in quality of character as well as consistency of event).  We need to be able to trust that the organizers will help bring life into the community.
3) Transparency:  The competitive event needs to be open for the public - as long as a regiment/group can follow the rules, they are welcome to participate in said event.
4) Numbers:  The competitive event needs to be active and applicable to a vast majority of the community.

**As a reminder, please bear in mind that if/when one of these criteria changes, please bear in mind that consequences (leading and up to) removal of the board can take place.  While these are criteria, bear in mind that moderation will take these up on a case-by-case basis.  Moderation also reserves their right to modify the application process at any time.**

Why should you become CR?: I've been a part of this community for quite some time now and I think I could represent the majority of the people still playing this game and still being in this community. I personally would consider myself to be an "oldgen" player since I originally started playing this game when it was still MM. But also, since I took a fairly long break from this game, I'm also somewhat of a newgen in terms of mostly competetive play and also this community in general. So I think I could be a voice of both sides - the oldgen players but also the newgen players.

Furthermore I'd also say I dont have any personal conflict or feud with anyone in this community and do consider myself to be a mostly liked - at least not hated - personality in this community. Since I'd be representating the people in this community as a whole I say this is quite an important feature to have.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I will try to bring the different parts in this community more together. I will try to build somewhat of a bridge between the more competetive side of this game and the more casual side. We should use the last year(s) of this game - I know this has been said since 2014 - to build a friendly community and leave all the personal conflicts and hatred some people have for one another aside and just enjoy playing this game together

Why should you become CR?: I've ran many times on the same platform, help event hosts and keep the game alive through good admins and a solid foundation in what's left of the community.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I'm not going to promise events that may or may not be successful all that I can guarantee is maintaining the game as it is now and help any events that pop up along the way.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: I do in full.

Why should you become CR?: In my previous term as NA CR I: Hosted a successful and (from what I heard from those who played in it) fun 3v3 tournament, reffed what felt like over half of all NA comp matches these past few months, acted in an advisory role with multiple different casual and competitive regiments, and in general did my best to steward the community as best I could. If elected to a second term, I will do the same as best I can. Recently the casual community has started to take a bit of an uptick in player size, breaching the 160-170 player mark for a casual event for the first time in what feels like forever- I want to continue to advise and support regiments in order to keep these events and regiments active.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Continue to referee in the case of any and all competitive events (Currently the draft league) and admin in the case of casual events on my free time. I am also open to hosting another seasonal tournament for the NA comp community along the lines of my 3v3 Winter tourney, though with the details open to be discussed (IE whether it is a 3v3 or otherwise, whether 1 sword 2 bayonets or 3 bayonets etc). I will also continue my efforts to moderate the NA side of the FSE forums when I can!

Why should you become CR?: Well to be quite honest I could just put everything I've done over the span of the 7 or so years I've played this game but everyone knows everyone at this point. So instead I'll lay out my goals and plans if I were to win CR.

First, I will be helping as I've always done with people who need help admining or want to learn how to admin events.

Second, I will do my best to help competitive event organizers maintain or populate their events.

Third and lastly, help maintain the forums to the best of my ability if I were to win.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: I understand.

Why should you become CR?:  I have been a long, active community member for the past nine years and I have many ideas that I would like to implement for the community If I were to be elected. I have been past friends with many former CRs as well as was a administrator for the most prestigious North American league called North American Napoleonic Wars League (or NANWL for short). Furthermore, I have been a prominent member of the competitive side of community as well as a recent up turn in participation in public events. I plan to implement many different tournament formats, modded events, and a possible cross community league that anybody can be apart of. Most of these plans are aimed at not reviving the game per say, but to give it a spark of creativity that I feel many players would enjoy and welcome.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I plan on creating new leagues, tournament ideas, and a new tournament format for the NA scene that will increase the number of tournament a week for the NA community. Additionally, new events such as the return of the Conquest Group-fighting event I hosted two years ago may be welcomed by regiments from all skill level. As well as the return of modded events which the NA community once had but ran aground as interest died out. However, I believe as though many want change in the current status quo and with summer time coming around the corner we may as well give the event hosting community a push.

Why should you become CR?:  I have already been CR, admittedly for half a term, and am finally getting to grips with the Job on the forum when it comes to snipping posts and putting my input in certain discussions with the moderation team regarding any issues or child board requests. I have been mostly leaving the forum moderation to the professionals - the moderation team, though I still keep myself in the loop with any discussions that do take place. I have good experience of being the CR and things have been going well I like to think. Lastly and most importantly I have been a consistent player and leader in the NW community for a year and half now straight and am a reliable friendly face anyone can approach for advice/help - I don't have plans to quit and I really do care for this community.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? In regards to the groupfighting scene I will be hosting another rookie tournament come early June whilst also continuing to offer a helping hand when it comes to helping ref/organise tournaments - as seen with my support and organisation for VPE and Smylie 5v5 Tournaments respectively where last minute help was required.

Regimentally I will continue to be involved in the EIC moderation team as well as managing rosters referees and matches for EIC matches helping out Chriseh whenever I can. Furthermore I shall be still involved in the NWLA giving helpful constructive inputs to when Regimental tournaments should take place and how the rest of the year regimentally should be staggered and planned out.

I will continue striving working on a grassroots level amongst the community not only by accommodating both matchmaking and pickups on 45thN TS but also through getting more and more NW players involved in the competitive scene by thrusting players into the competitive scene through the use of the NPP Series and numerous other groupfighting teams that are available in the regiment. My involvement in getting people involved in the  groupfighting scene hasn't only been restricted through what I can do in my regiment, more importantly I have been very active promoting admining and managing WBMM for the past couple of months and have been working with LaPache on a new exciting feature coming to WBMM so stay tuned

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: Aye Captain.

Why should you become CR?:
I have been around for a very long time and know this community extremely well with all its players both on the FSE forums and outside of it.
I am very objective focussed to get the best result possible, for example I have hosted in the past the EIC a tournament which till this date still is being hosted, granted I have not been part of the admin team ever since the first season but the foundations for that tournament which me and Price made are the core of 1v1 rules now a days.
Lately I have shifted my focus on bringing this community something more then just NW with its linebattles, GF's, 1v1's etc. for these events are our very foundation but many of our regimental communities have become so much more then just regiments existing for NW.
I started hosting a modded event every monday at 8 PM, as something to bring a majority of big regiments together that otherwise would face each other in these heated competitions and other events, as something to relax with and bound with one and other.
Together with Price and Tardet I have also been working hard to make a concept for a NW E-Sport and I am very positive that if anyone is going to pull it off it will be us, which will be a major game changer for how NW is going to look like in the future.

To put it short I will try my hardest for all the dedicated competitive players to achieve the competitive game you all have dreamed about, whilst also ensure that the players who play this game on a casual base will have their fun events be it modded events or something outside this game entirely.

*qeue the pirates of the Caribbean*

Let me be your captain as I sail us to glory, plunder and booty lads.
Spoiler

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term?
- I will continue my work with my fellow mates Price and Tardet towards achieving NW E-Sport
- Make sure that the casual players in our community have a place among us, it being in modded and other fun events both in and outside warband, etc.
- A helping hand for anyone who needs it, anything related to regiments, tournaments, communities and more.
- Encourage the competitive scene to keep on doing what we do best, by organising/helping out new and existing tournaments, so we can keep on giving each other the challenges in melee and leading that we as competitive players seek.
- Getting Tardet a proper camera so he can be even more sexy on the stream with Price and myself
- Protecting those who need it from Fietta
Spoiler

- Last but not least grow my biceps to 22 inches so I can be the papa biceps of the NW community.

And yes I know the last few statements were a bit more banter related, but we need to be serious but also have the occassional banter now and then.

This was your captain speaking over and out.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: Yes I understand
Why should you become CR?:
I have been a long standing member of this community, as such I have the chance to play and talk with with the majority of the prominent community members. My familiarity with the community through its history, I feel gives me a very good grasp of the community's desires as a whole.

My moral and ethical values I believe would make me a good fit for CR. People turn a blind eye to prejudices and hateful behavior too often in this community, which can be extremely damaging. Especially when trying to nurture a positive environment for new community members. I do not believe in safe spaces as a concept, and have no intention of trying to accomplish anything of the sort. But when members of our community act in such a harmful manner, I vouch to set things straight so that these forums can be as welcoming as possible.

I have the dedication and commitment to take the role of CR seriously. The CR is supposed to be the face of the community, they are meant to listen to the player base and represent them. As such I will do my due diligence when handling community matters, and always go the extra mile for the betterment of the community.

My ability to get along with pretty much anyone, I believe will be essential to being the Community Representative. It doesn't matter how much I like or dislike someone, or how much I agree or disagree with them. I am still able to get on with them, and be amicable towards them despite our differences. This skill I believe is essential to represent the community in a fair manner.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term?
I plan to promote more forum interaction with the casual player base, I believe the more casual players making their voice heard the better. The casual side of the game holds the fast majority of the players. If they can be introduced to forum usage I believe they will be more inclined to integrate themselves with the community, thereby enriching the player base.

I also plan on taking a more active approach on listening to the community. I plan to set up more avenues for the community to vent their frustrations or spread their ideas directly to the CR. I will strive to connect the player base and the community organisers closer together.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: Yes

Why should you become CR?:

Although I may still be classed as a "Newgen" to the community, I believe that I've been around long enough that people know who I am and know what I'm like. I know I am an outgoing and likeable person, obviously I've had disagreements and don't deny that, but I have only ever been fair and respecting of people. I believe the CR should be someone that you should be able to report any issue to and be a supporting figure and I know that I have the correct skills to be this person.

I won't say that I'm the friendliest in the community but I'm definitely up there as one of them and go out of my way to help people as much as I can in the community. I pride myself on my approachability and I'm always open to chat to people and offer help or assistance whenever or wherever it is required.
As part of the 92nd, a regiment that I've been in since I got into the regimental scene, I rebuilt and re-established our light company and creating a mini-community of its own that thrives and hopefully will thrive for as long as this great game lasts. I can use this experience and the skills I learned to advise and support anyone, mainly newer regiments into keeping themselves afloat and active as their own mini communities.

I've already helped support the community by hosting some servers for tournaments, EIC and NWWC being the biggest tournaments as well as community projects as WBMM and I don't have any plans of stopping anytime soon! The community can only ever be as good as the infrastructure is and I aim to provide the best infrastructure possible. I have only ever wanted the community to flourish and I don't play competitively enough to warrant hosting, hosting servers for far more competent hosts is a small thing that I can do to help as well as encourage people to play the game.
I’m quite a laid back person and although I’d have certain moderation duties to carry out, I would never abuse this or use the power to my own advantage, I would also hold myself accountable if any misdeeds were to happen that I was involved in.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term?

As I’ve touched on in the above question, I have hosted a few servers for the community and as CR I will go further with this. I must say, if I don’t get CR, I will still provide servers for the community, they are not mutually exclusive but I would use the CR post as a shout-box to make as many people aware that these servers are here.
For the casual side of the community, I will edit my rules on hosting linebattle servers and will host as many as possible in both locations. I will still provide groupfighting teams and smaller regimental servers as well if they are required. I will offer full mod and technical support to those who use one of my servers and will be only a steam message away and will provide as much support as I possibly can. These 2 server boxes are absolutely huge and being in a position to offer servers in France as well as Germany will only be beneficial.

For the competitive side of the community, I will provide servers for as many tournaments as I can with no limitations or anything. These can be for one night groupfighting tournaments or events that go on for a while like NWWC and EIC. This would be my way of supporting the competitive side as I previously said, I don’t play enough competitively to actually host or act like an expert on this side of the community. I will take a step back and allow the comp side of the community to handle themselves like I know they can and have done so and will continue to do so.

Although public side of NW is a bit dead and the regimental scene is where most of the community plays, if anyone has an idea of a public server or ran one in NWs prime and wishes to bring it back, I can and will support that endeavour as much as possible and will provide a server and support to anyone who wishes to pursue this.
To conclude, NW can feel like a toxic cesspit at times and as CR, I’m not promising to completely overhaul that but if I can do my little bit to help clear up that mess and be a friendly face that people can depend on, I would consider that a success.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: Yes, I do

Why should you become CR?: Within the past year I have always been involved with the community both regimentally and as the NW community as a whole, I am really motivated to see this game through and my passion for this game can not only be seen in my in game time but also in my past and present actions I have fulfilled for this community.
I have much experience in both hosting internal tournaments within the 45thN as well as cohosting regimental tournaments, most notably RMT and group fighting tournaments for the wider NW community such as EIS and ENWC. I have been working on a grassroots level amongst the community not only by accommodating both matchmaking and pickups on 45thN TS but also through getting more and more NW players involved in the competitive scene by thrusting players into casual competitive events as well as group fighting teams most aptly seen by the NPP Series. I have a good feeling of the mood of NW and always have been a friendly face offering great help to many players and organisers across the scene.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I not only want to expand on my work as a grassroots community manager but I would also aim to work with other NW leaders to cut down on many Regimental tournaments especially group fighting tournaments to have a clear schedule for my term of what occurs when as to not burn out the community by not having the constant spam and consequent devaluing of especially group fighting tournaments. Most importantly though I want to be of service to the community not through my personal melee skills or via my leadership attributes but rather an upbeat person that's always willing to help out and up for a chat.

Why should you become CR?: I am now a member of this community since 6 years. I have played competitively untill 2019, then focused myself on a leadership role. My objective for 2021 is to do even more for the NW community, as this is a game I personnally love and want to see alive as long as possible.
With all my experience, I have the advantage to have played with most of the current players of the NW competitive scene, and I also know pretty well how that scene works.
I want to do my maximum to help the moderators and to be the voice between them and the community. I am ready to learn how to get better in that role and am open to all the advices that everyone could give me.
I want a stable community where all the trashtalsks are just happening for competitive reasons. This means that I want the useless FSE and in game trashtalks to stop since it makes this community more and more cancerous.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term?

- Firstly, I would like to make a schedule for all the tournaments that will happen this year. By doing that, I want the players to be more motivated to play every tournament. There will be one tournament per month, sometimes two. This is going to be done in consultation with all the team leaders.

- Secondly, I will make another EU vs NA tournament. I love the idea, and to me that is a really interesting thing to do.

- Finally, I'll offer my help to all the tournament organizers. I'll reserve myself 5 hours per week for that job and only that job. Since my plan is to schedule all the tournaments, I want them to be really well organized and I also want to see bigger things.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?:  Of course.
Why should you become CR?:

To begin, after eight years in this community I truly believe I can represent every end and every little part of it. I want to provide a beautiful balance of calm and reasonability to the CR role.

I know a lot of people see me in a certain light. But I can promise you that I will represent everyone in this community.

When I bought this game back in 2013 I was in love with every aspect of it from when my friend told me to join a regiment (K-KA) I was hooked the ranks the line battles the events, the total experience of it all.

After many years of regiments and events, GroupFighting server and tournaments, I wish to represent this community as a common member as that little regimental private, as that regular, Gren, and Kingsman.

It doesn't matter who you are, your differences with me or not, my love for the game and the forum matters to me, and under all of it I will provide you a friend and even though I may have appeared harsh I promise you will love me as your CR.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term?  To bring better and bigger tournaments. To establish a link between the competitive and casual and bring new and experienced talent to the NW scene.

Why should you become CR?: In my last term I was active and striving to gain more community involvement with comp and pub players. This term I will continue pushing and organizing events. The game is far from dead and we're still churing out events with 140+ attendance. In light of bannerlord coming I know that the people of NW will stay strong due to their undying love for their game and resentment of bannerlord for taking so damn long.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I will be active on fse and post weekly updates. Give continues support to regiments and other communities with my resources.

Why should you become CR?: One last try, With the CR's limited powers and authority and the light coming from bannerlord this game will die out. Well we have what time is left We should prepare ourselves, our events and Regiments for Bannerlord and it's upcoming mods that will come after it's release. It is that of which i'm running for CR.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Prepare the community to transfer to bannerlord and the organizing of events in bannerlord for our NA community.
