Which is why it's going to be proofed by a weapon smith before i even dare to put any form of powder in there.
In the Netherlands the law states any gun produced before 1870 is free to have, or produced before 1945 that is made for black powder is free to have. (and some other exceptions)
Meaning modern replicas fall under the law to need a weapon licence, and this is no joke;
- Over the age of 18
- Blank spanking clear criminal record.
- let your mental state be checked out by a psychiatrist
- More than a year a member of a group.
- You must have a weapon safe where your guns should be inside at all times. and only out if there is an event and you cannot ever be not holding your gun.
- You can max have 5 weapons.
- You can only get weapons that fit your reenactment group that your officially registered with.
Oh yeah, you also get regular checking from the police if your guns are in the safe etc. and if you make one slight mistake, like your cleaning it you risk the chance to loose your license for 3 years because it was "not in the safe".
Also these licenses have to be given out by the local law enforcement, and they usually never heard about reenactment, and more often than not they don't even give you your license.
