It's actually a large sized helmet because of the thickness of the padding in my arming cap, luckily it doesn't make my head look too much like a mushroom, even though there's a bit of spare room around the sides. It fits pretty snugly with a coif underneath, anyway, which I'll probably be buying sometime in winter or next year.

In even more exciting news, ordered myself a sword, will be a couple of months at least before I get it since it's from a swordsmith who makes most of their stuff to custom order.
Since it'll be after the show season I get the bugger, it gives me plenty of time to practice through the winter.

The french ones are much more heavy with the plate, chinscales and so on, besides their also wider on top so they bump against your rifle during shoulder arms etc..

Yours is more comfortable, it really is.

I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to get a new pair of shoes. Soles are starting to crack up and I'm losing hobnails left right and centre. They'll do me until the end of the year, but then it'll be a case of resoleing or getting new ones
Definitley want some decent leather ones for next year though, as we're doing horseguards again and smooth leather is so much easier to clean than rough side out!

I won a original M1 Helmet that was worn in Vietnam. Has some small grafiti around as well, come with Mitchell cover. Great deal.

Also for those who do WW2 GI or just wanna be one cool motherfucker, ATF is having deal of day for their M41 Field Jacket, going from $124 lowered to $75.   I just bought it, consider this my 2nd M41 Jacket, yeah you never can get enough.  This one will be for 1st ID, i have another for 90th ID.   I also may get 3rd one for my Iwo Jima impression.

but yeah, big sale, go after 'em

Good stuff.  Also, last night I realized my nam gear would allow me to portray something else.  I just need new boot (maybe not, need research) but defintely new uniform to portray US Army in West Berlin. The Berlin Brigade.  ;D
