Just spray painted my m1 helmet, looking very nice, tomorrow I shall spray the inside. My Liner is on its way with chinstrap as well. Will be a challenge since chinstrap are sewn not using any of those post war. Tight spot sewing, gonna be doozy.

Just now I bought P41 uniform set, boxers, tank top, and "pisscutter" cap for my Marines impression from ATF.

Made this belt today. Not fantastic work and it's deliberately simple, but it's the first thing I've handmade so I'm pretty pleased.

I bought a knapsack for $50 at New Market. For ACW I need trousers, a new hat, and brogans. My brogans have huge splits up the sides and absolutely kill my feet. They even tore a hole in my WWII German socks. Bastards need to pay up. Glorious sacrificial rites when we cut the bitch up for scraps.

For WWII I'm definitely looking into getting proper low boots, most likely from lederarsenal. They're also known as Jan Berger boots. I can use them for WWI as well with the puttees.

Why is it so difficult to find WW1 French mess kits, canteens and boots?

Boots are certainly the easiest, there are some repros, but quite expensive. Canteens are impossible to find, unless you want a rusty leaking one, and Mess kits are all originals, which is not really what I am looking for. They are also pretty expensive...

I keep losing the back brace buttons off of my trousers... absolute pain in the arse! it's not like they're tight or anything! Ive lost weight, and my trousers have always been a bit loose, but that damn back button keeps falling off!

I'm in the market to buy a M43 field jacket. I really wish ATF had theirs in stock. So far My option are WW2 Impression, EMC militaria, and Hessen.   Ww2 is quite costy  but fuck, tis made in America. Quality over chinese or japs! But dammit, $220 or $75
