Market Garden was just one part of the liberation of the Netherlands.

The ones to blame here are the British commanders. They pretty much got info about the large German presence at Arnhem shoved right in their faces by the Dutch resistance, and completely ignored it.

In some weird ironic twist of history, in 1813, the Germans (the Prussians) actually took Arnhem by storm, together with much-important bridge over the river, killing most of the garrison and taking the rest prisoner; and this time, they were welcomed as liberators by the Dutch. PLOT TWISTS EHMAGERD.

Actually I do agree Market Garden was a fail but however Netherlands was still liberated by the Canadians alone later in the war. I know Canadians held majority of Dutch land in the east in 1945 and two canadians officers snuck into the line to make truce/surrender with General Blaskowitz.

In my view, the Canadians are the one with most luck with the Netherlands therefore, they are the liberator of Netherlands.

I would fking love to do ww2 Canadian. I already have a uniform, I just need equipment and Lee Enfield and im good.

To be quite honest, as you re-enact the ACW and more then once showed a 'slight' ignorance on a variety of subjects, I started to think you were American.

I would re-enact the French-Indian War, but there are no groups for that here, there are no groups here for any wars that involve the Canadians... I was looking at mainly 1812, but no groups.

Just got an email from Jan Berger tonight! He's starting my low boots. I paid the last payment, and should be getting them in the coming weeks, along with my M43 Keilhosen. I need to find some gaiters, and have Been eyeballing the texled ATF ones.
