About Us

REDFOR  is a tactical gaming community centered around using real world tactics, equipment and communication in military simulation games. We are expanding to Napoleonic Wars to diversify our game base in order to enlarge our community. Our primary focus for the past year has been ArmA 2 Combined Operations in an organized, realistic manner with fun being our primary objective. We play a mixed bag of cooperative and adversarial missions every week, along with general and specialized training.

We are a community of like-minded gamers and friends who share similar interests such as military history, flight simulation and tactical FPS games. While REDFOR employs a rank system to ensure order in mission, all members receive opportunities to play in leadership, while also organizing and running events in other games throughout the week. We believe that you get out of a community what you put into it, and encourage members to take an active role in strengthening and expanding our unit’s activities. Being active on the team speak 3 server and our forums is the best way to get to know us, and all are welcome!

We are looking for members that want the authentic experience of real military tactics, leadership and weapons discipline without the bureaucracy and paper work of a ‘true’ milsim unit. Interest in other simulation games and similar topics is a bonus. As a primarily North American unit, we also require members to have a good understanding of the English language. We do not tolerate bigoted, 'lone wolf', or otherwise antagonistic personalities, as we are a community and team first.


Rank structure

Oberleutnant [ObLtn] -The figure head leader of our regiment, the Oberleutnant is responsible for signing us up for events and delegating unit responsibilities to the lower ranks. He may choose to lead from the front or from behind the scenes deepening on other responsibilities.

Leutnant [Ltn] -The Leutnants are the true leaders of the regiment, working to organize and run events and trainings. They will often be directed and helped by the Oberleutnant, but will also be expected to bare the brunt of the unit work on their own and with initiative. They are also to take an active interest in recruiting for the unit. Like the Oberleutnant, Leutnants may delegate responsibilities down to the NCOs.

Stabsfeldwebel [StFwl] -Stabsfeldwebels are the senior most NCOs in the regiment. They exist to make the Leutnants life easier, assisting with events, recruitment and training, and any other delegated tasks.

Oberfeldwebel [Fwl] -Acting as the base level NCO for the regiment Oberfeldwebels primarily serve as the point of contact between the NCOs, enlisted and officer ranks. They carry out delegated tasks while keeping an eye out for ways to improve the unit and make the lives of the senior ranks easier. They should serve as role models for our community both in game and on teamspeak.

Unterfeldwebel [UnFwl] -Unterfeldwebels have undergone the Unteroffizier tests, and have shown that they have what it takes to help lead the regiment, and the REDFOR community. They will be delegated more responsibilities, and may be intrusted with helping other Unteroffiziers as they go through their own tests. This is a junior leadership rank, and will most likely be the most common NCO rank for that reason.

Unteroffizier [Uffz] -Unteroffizier (literally meaning "Under officer") are members that we have an eye on for command, and would like to try out as an NCO with limited responsibilities. This functions as a testing and training rank for those that wish to pursue unit leadership or simply for those that wish to help out more than the enlisted ranks allow. They will be delegated simple tasks as tests. Members that pass these tests will be promoted, those that don't, will be side-graded to Stabsgefreiter.

Stabsgefreiter [StGfr] -Stabsgefreiters are senior enlisted who have proven they are a core part of this community, but either lack the "skill" or will to be an NCO rank. Unteroffiziers who fail their tests will be side-graded to this rank. Members of the community may also be promoted to this rank, but that will be rare.

Obergefreiter [ObGfr] -Senior enlisted rank, made up of promising and prominent members who have shown interest in strengthening our unit. They are the first unit allowed to delegate responsibilities to lower ranks, but this should only be used in the absence of senior ranks. Obergefreiters are regularly studied, to see if they have what it takes to become an NCO.

Gefreiter [Gfr] -Gefreiters are a mid level enlisted rank, made up of members who have continued to show that they meet our membership requirements and are willing to become part of our community. This is the first rank expected to assist with unit recruitment and other tasks as asked by the senior enlisted and NCO ranks.

Oberschütze [ObShutze] -Oberschutze are new members that have passed through our probation and have proven that they have what it takes to be a part of our community. Oberschutze is to be considered our base rank as it is the lowest, non-probationary enlisted rank.

Schütze [Shutze] -Shutze are new and/or inexperienced members who have yet to pass through our probation period, and have yet to prove themselves as part of our community. Members of this rank should keep their eyes and ears open to learn and grow with us as a group.

Code of Conduct

1: Friendly smash talk is allowed, but keep it friendly and relaxed.
2: No Team Killing
3: No in game hacks or exploits will be tolerated.
4: Respect any and all guests and members of other communities.
5: Respect your commanders. What they say goes. Constructive criticism is encouraged after the event!

-16+ Years of age or older. Younger members may join but must pass a probation period.
