Her Majesty's 29th Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards

Hi there! Thanks for checking out our Regiment's page. My name is Aptem, and I'm the current Captain of the 29th Coldstream Guards. We're a rather small group of people, who've mainly been in and out of Regiments together. We strive to be well organized, well disciplined, and above all else, have fun. We currently don't have to many members, and are looking to work on that. If you're looking for a fun experience, with a serious attitude toward playing, look no further. Here you'll find information regarding the Regiment itself, and how to to join. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or message me on steam. Alternatively, you can message my Sergeant if I'm unavailable.

Some History of the Guards, Courtesy of our good friends over at Wikipedia:
Spoiler
It is the oldest regiment in the Regular Army in continuous active service, originating in Coldstream, Scotland in 1650 when General George Monck founded the regiment. It is one of two regiments of the Household Division that can trace its lineage to the New Model Army, the other being the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons). They are sometimes mistakenly called Yeomen Warders, Yeomen of the Guard or "Beefeaters" by members of the public.

The origin of the Coldstream Guards lies in the English Civil War when Oliver Cromwell gave Colonel George Monck permission to form his own regiment as part of the New Model Army. Monck took men from the regiments of George Fenwick and Sir Arthur Haselrig, five companies each, and on 23 August 1650 formed Monck's Regiment of Foot. Less than two weeks later this force took part in the Battle of Dunbar, at which the Roundheads defeated the forces of Charles Stuart. Monck's regiment was left in Scotland.
After Richard Cromwell's abdication, Monck gave his support to the Stuarts, and on 1 January 1660 he crossed the River Tweed into England at the village of Coldstream, from where he made a five-week march to London. He arrived in London on 2 February and helped in the Restoration of the monarchy. For his help, Monck was given the Order of the Garter and his regiment was assigned to keep order in London.

Requirements to Join:
Spoiler
Age - We require that you be at LEAST 16 years of age to apply for our Regiment. However, if we believe you mature enough(As we are pretty laid back, and understand some people mature faster than others), we will admit you into the Regiment as well. We only do this to try to cut back on the trolls and the like.

Location - As of now (5/25/2013), we're only accepting applications from those in North America. We're looking to build up our numbers with people from similar areas in order to get a good cohesion of players. But in the future I do think we'd accept members from Europe and beyond.

A Microphone and TeamSpeak 3 - We're not asking a lot from those who want to join, but we DO ask that those who apply have a working microphone and TeamSpeak 3. We like to communication both on and off the battlefield, so it's important for you to be involved.

Maturity - When wearing the 29th's banner, on the TS, and all around being affiliated with us, you're expected to conduct yourself with respect, maturity, and kindness. This doesn't mean that when we're in a Line battle you shout obscenities at the other team, nor while on the TS doing the same. We strive to have a polite, well organized, and very well disciplined Regiment. We hope you can help contribute with this.

Respect - People are different, that's always been a huge factor I've thought about when meeting new people. And in the 29th, we do the same. Please be respectful to the NCO's, CO's, and anyone else you meet while accompanying the 29th, we're not a bunch of barbarians, we're the British Army for the King's sake! We need to act like it.

Activity - We expect you to be active with our Regiment, should you choose to join. That means attending Training AND Line Battles as much as possible. But we do know that IRL must come first, and it's fine if you have to miss a few events here and there. Just make sure that if you ARE going to be missing an event, you notify someone who can pass it down the line for you
