Depends, all Russian officers were mounted, infantry ones included, only those like Lieutenants weren't.

Men, though, weren't of that luck :P

please please not preset hair!

We will try not to, but do not guarantee anything.

There's a difference between being mounted and being allowed a horse. Especially in battle. At least for the Napoleonics, and I don't think things were better 50 years later.
Though I presume colonels kept their horses in battle for the nice extra height. Looking over other peoples head is cool, isn't it?

Just two things I noted about the coat, too.

- The pockets seem to be missing
- The closing of the jacket is done left-over-right (for males) on the picture, but right-over-left (for women) on your model.

-Will be added when I got time, maybe, or will stay as it is for now
-It had to be done that way, went all screwed up...

Then, with all due respect to you and the Dev team, why do you say it's 'DONE' if you know it isn't?

I know I'll probably get some hate-replies right here, which may or may not be justified.

Your regiment reservation policy says that certain regiments will be contacted. Does that mean that regiments can put their name forward and hope they will be granted access to the alfa/private release?

I'm fairly sure it will start with the regiments of the dev team before branching out to serious regiments led by trusted friends, slowly branching out similar to N&S.

I won't be giving out any British uniform information today but lets face it, I've already given a shit load ;)

Russian uniform.
Russian line helmet. In the book I use this is referenced as a "Prussian-style 'coal scuttle', black leather helmet with tall spike and double eagle badge. However in 1855 this was replaced by a Shako, Considering all the major battles happened in '54 I presume you'll use the helmet.
The helmet's front plate was pierced with the regiment number. Officers had silver numerals. The black-white-orange national cockade was worn behind the right hand chinstrap boss. Forgive me but I'm not giving out the parade uniform variations, relatively pointless.

Russian forage cap. The men of the Russian army were also permitted to wear a forage cap off duty, though it wouldn't be too hard to imagine it being used too on the battlefield. It is described as a 'peakless, dark green forage cap, with headband and top piping. On the front of this cap was the company designation in yellow. Often worn by the Jaegers.

Infantry distinctions and uniform-rank and file. The infantry wore dark green, double breasted tunics with red facings, three button cuff flaps and yellow buttons. Belts were white with brass fittings. Greatcoats were extremely common and often worn on active duty.
NCO's wore yellow/gold embroidery to cuffs and collars with rank shown by a system of yellow/gold stripes on the shoulder boards "One to three narrow, then one broad for the ranks from lance corporal to sergeant major.)
Jaegers. The Light infantry of the Russian army wore infantry uniforms with dark green collars, piped red and red cuffs, though they used black belts and straps rather than the white of the line infantry.Infantry distinctions and uniform-Officers. Officers were also permitted to wear a dark green, knee length frock coat, with plain dark green cuffs and red piping along the top edge. Much higher quality cloth was used than that used for the rank and file. Officers had fringed gold epaulettes with red fields on which would be the divisional number, also in gold. Waist sashes and sword hilt straps were silver silk with two lines of square, black and orange dots. The officers had a light (lighter than the enlisted mans equivalent) greatcoat had gold shoulder straps with a single stripe for company officers and two for field officers. And edging in the regimental shoulder strap colour. Rank was shown by small, five
pointed silver stars. 1/ensign, 2/1st lieutenant, 3(in a triangle)/1st lieutenant, 4(one above the triangle)/captain. Field officers had a similar system. 2 stars/major, 3/Lieutenant Colonel though a colonel wore no stars at all.
Infantry of the Imperial Guard. These elite soldiers wore line infantry style uniforms with two lace loops (in the button collar) and three on the cuff flap.

Weaponry.
The Russian infantry were armed with the M1845 smoothbore, muzzle-loading percussion musket. Just coming into service in 1854 was the rifled percussion musket equipped with a back sight and certainly at this stage given only to the best shots.

Cavalry.
To my knowledge the Russians never used currassier's in the Crimea so they won't be mentioned.

Dragoons. The dragoons wore shako's with red pompons, white plumes and cords, fittings in the button colour. The green tunic had nine buttons, the dark green overalls had wide stripes in the facing colour. In 1840 the uniform was altered slightly, collars had piping a patch in the facing colour and a button on the front ends; the old Swedish cuffs had rectangular flaps added, the epaulettes were of metal in the button colour and the green waist sash was piped in the facing colours. Belts were white.Cossacks. The Cossacks had a somewhat irregular uniform but usually wore their national costume, usually dark blue with black fur caps and baggy blur trousers and black belts. Officers wore silver epaulettes.Mounted Rifles. These chaps wore the infantry Kiwer Shako with cockade and green cords, green overalls with two wide stripes in the facing colour, green tunic with green collar and white buttons. Facings were worn on the collar piping, shoulder straps, cuffs and turnbacks. For the Crimean War though the Infantry helmet was worn.Hussars. The regimental braid was also the colour of the trim to sabretache and shabraque. This trim was in wolf's tooth style until 1840, thence smooth. The barrel sashes were in the colour combination of the shako and the regimental braid. The pelisses were edged in grey fur, belts were white. They wore the Shako with eagle plate and regimental number pierced in.Lancers. The Imperial Lancers were part of the light cavalry and like so many others wore the czapka, slate blue kurtka and grey overalls. The top half of the czapka was in the regimental colour. All but the Guard lancers wore white buttons who had red facings and czapka's, yellow buttons and scale epaulettes. The front rank would be armed with lances and sword, the second rank with carbine and sword.
