ACW Campaign
« on: January 18, 2013, 06:20:14 am »

The ACW Campaign is a combination of both action and strategy.  The American Civil War was a conflict between the North (Union) and the South (Confederates) which started in 1861 and ended 1865.  Each side fought for what they believed in, whether it was to preserve the Union or defend from Northern Aggression.  Both sides had their strengths and weaknesses and fought very bravely in the battlefield.  This campaign is basically a simulation for both sides and everyone must do their part, whether it is leading your troops to victory using skillful tactics, or fighting alongside your brothers in arms.  You will have the chance to rewrite history, there will be historic events when you go a certain place in the map and there will be a Journalist (Me) to keep everyone updated on the news whether you have a Victory with smiles on everyone's face, or a Defeat where every soldier is disheartened but knows they will fight another day.  How will you rewrite history?

- Battles will take place within 3 days per turn or more, any regiment or side that does not show up will be automatically dissqualified

- First to 3 and best out of 3 maps
- Historic events such as "Bull Run" or "Gettysburg" will have a special map with special conditions
- Battles will take place when a side attacks a town far from the capital
- Conquests will take place when a side is taking a town near the State's Capital
- Sieges will take place when a side is taking a State's Capitol
- Everyone will have to take the towns before taking a Capital, it always starts with a battle for the first town which is the farthest away from the other two towns, a conquest will be available after you have taken the first town, and finally once you have taken both towns, your side can take the capital (If you still don't get it, think low to high)
- Lines must always be at tight man spacing or one man spacing, they need to always be in formation as best as they can, they may crouch when taking cover or in double ranks
- When taking cover the max spacing between each other is 3 man spacing

Week 1 Day 1
Spoiler
War! War! War!, brother against brother, families torn apart, what is this world coming to?  The South have finally had enough and will no longer take orders from it's government.  In the North many abolitionists find this war a way to abolish slavery and so many volunteers start to enlist.  War is never a good thing but to say whose right is very difficult.  How will you rewrite history?

The campaign is still active but postponed until the arrival of the Gettysburg patch coming out soon.  We will begin a week after the patch comes out, please be ready to attend meetings or receive messages for you will receive important information regarding rules, movement, and dates.  Remember we are still accepting sign-ups and it is still not too late to join into the fight.  Thank you all for your concerned messages over steam and I hope to see you all at the front lines.  ;D
