Netflix announced that it is now available in 130 new countries.

https://media.netflix.com/en/press-releases/netflix-is-now-available-around-the-world

Quote
Las Vegas, January 6, 2016 -- Netflix launched its service globally, simultaneously bringing its Internet TV network to more than 130 new countries around the world. The company made the announcement -- and the service went live -- during a keynote by Co-founder and Chief Executive Reed Hastings at CES 2016.

“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network,” said Hastings. “With this launch, consumers around the world -- from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo -- will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously -- no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”

For one monthly price, members around the world will be able to enjoy Netflix original series including Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Narcos, Sense8, Grace and Frankie, and Marco Polo, as well as a catalog of licensed TV shows and movies. In 2016, the company plans to release 31 new and returning original series, two dozen original feature films and documentaries, a wide range of stand-up comedy specials and 30 original kids series -- available at the same time to members everywhere.

While largely available in English in most new countries, Netflix today added Arabic, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese to the 17 languages it already supports.

“From today onwards, we will listen and we will learn, gradually adding more languages, more content and more ways for people to engage with Netflix,” said Hastings. “We’re looking forward to bringing great stories from all over the world to people all over the world.”

Netflix will not yet be available in China, though the company continues to explore options for providing the service. It also won’t be available in Crimea, North Korea and Syria due to U.S. government restrictions on American companies.

Since Netflix launched its streaming service in 2007, the service has expanded globally, first to Canada, then to Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan to include 60 countries.

Netflix is available on virtually any device that has an Internet connection, including personal computers, tablets, smartphones, Smart TVs and game consoles, and automatically provides the best possible streaming quality based on available bandwidth. Many titles, including Netflix original series and films, are available in high-definition with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound and some in Ultra HD 4K. Advanced recommendation technologies with up to five user profiles help members discover entertainment they'll love.

Kinda surprised they made a Marco Polo S2 tbh. I liked S1 but it got bad reviews from critics for some reason and then I never heard anything about its future until now.

Who cares about critics though.
The only thing that matters is that people watch the series. And given that Netflix is online and can therefore track the views of each Episode I am pretty sure that it has been doing well enough to justify a second season.

General consensus of what I've heard from friends who have watched it = show starts out pretty alright the first couple seasons, proceeds to turn into lazily written cringe-fest batman-with-a-bow simulator.

But everybody compares it to daredevil, and expects it to be just like daredevil, when the producers/directors of Jessica Jones are going for a different theme.
The show itself is pretty good, and David Tennant's parts were phenomenal.
Its just when you compare it to a masterpiece like daredevil it's hard to match up.

Westworld is good, but it's very liberal with some things. The thinking behind it is spot on, from a philosophical point. But then the execution sometimes is.. eh. But overall good.

You guys watch the second season of Marco Polo yet? It was never advertised much, but it's good.

O man i just had a nerdgasm. Young Justice season 3 was announced. That was like one of my favorite tv shows.

For those that dont know. Young Justice was one of the best superhero cartoons. It aired in 2010 and only had 2 seasons. Despite a massive audience and critical acclaim (it won a few emmys) it was canceled due to poor toy sales. It was canceled on a cliffhanger too! I have been waiting for this comeback for years.

i am so happy right now <3

Just finished Spartacus, if you can make it through the 4 seasons, it has a really strong ending

Assorted quotes from the books:

"He had dark, rather cruel good looks and very clear blue-gray eyes that were now observing her inspection sardonically. A scar down his right cheek showed pale against a tan so mild that he must have only recently come to the island"

"The skin beneath the eyes that now slowly, mildly, surveyed his colleagues was unpouched. There was no sign of debauchery, illness, or old age on the large, white, bland face under the square, wiry black crew-cut."

"Bond's face was white and bathed in sweat..."

Meh... I mean I'd rather companies not feel like they're obligated to be multi-racial in everything. But it's not like it is the end of the world if there's a black bond. Plus Idris Elba would kill it as a bond I would think.

Which is why I saw the movie today, it was good. I have to say and it is not spoiler related, that nowadays it is unprecedented how far people will go to spoil a popular movie. It is all about the experience of seeing it first if interested to make own judgement about it. It is downright pathetic of people to spoil it for others, especially for people they know and are trusted by. It is frustrating to no end, and should by no right be a meme and if trying to justify, it's just for the laughs. That is the reason why I don't talk much about upcoming movies I want to see a lot. Just wanted to toss in those two cents on this.

Rogue One tested the waters for a spin-off story and I would agree it was overall a success. Quite unsure if I would see the next spin off movie reportedly starring Han Solo, after what happened in The Force Awakens. Talk about adding salt to the wound, we already know how his character goes so it remains to be seen if it is a 'good' spin-off. Same for Boba Fett's apparent side-story coming to top it all off.

Meant he will never win one again. both his wins came prior to his rants about a certain group.
