im not sure thats entirely true... I have seen relics of helmets from 1914 im pretty sure, from the French.

The French Adrian helmets were not issued until 1915.

From wikipedia:

Spoiler
It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare, and head wounds from the falling shrapnel generated by the new technique of indirect fire became a frequent cause of battlefield casualties. Introduced in 1915, it was the first modern steel helmet[1][2] and it served as the basic helmet of many armies well into the 1930s.

Emu War. Shall we dance?
Howesexuality was made for exceptions
Homosexuality was only seen as okay in Rome if you were the dominating partner. Receiving was seen as shameful and humiliating. As, young boys were usually guided through a brief period of bisexuality by older, more experienced men who could council them.

Double post but fuck off analpagans.

As a young officer, Julius Caesar was sent to King Nicomedes to ask for reinforcements against Mithradates. It was rumored that Caesar and Nicomedes engaged in a sexual relationship. This rumor was used to slander Caesar later on.

And from the incident, one of my favorite collection of words ever was created:
"Caesar conquered Gaul, but Nicomedes conquered Caesar"

May or may not be true, but I've heard it around a few times

When Louie 16th was to be executed for treason, it is said that he asked to have guillotines blade be made of solid gold, It took 20 drops of the blade to fully decapitate hime due to gold not being good and cutting.

I've found no historical accounts of this but heard it somewhere, I cant remember where...

Yeah, that's definitely far from the truth. He was arrested and beheaded by guillotine January 21st, 1793.

The most amount of times I've heard for a beheading to be completed was 3 blows, for Mary Queen of Scots.

Did you ever know that in ancient Greece, gender was not determined by actually being a man or woman, but instead behaving like one?
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.
