About

Formed in March 2015 as Two Seasons Gaming Clan and Re-Naming in June to the 2nd Sibiriskii Grenaderski Guards. With dedicated members, we stride to be a unique and skilled regiment in the Napoleonic War community. We are an American based regiment with the flag of the Russian Kingdom under our name. We main Line Infantry to seek out adventures on the battlefield. Separating our tactics from the British and French, we adopt a mix of Prussian and Historical Russian tatics to re-animate the fierce Russian force in battle. We achieve this through effective trainings that focus on formations, discipline, and order.

History

Creation- Formed in 1683 to server for Peter I, the regiment survived until 1925. The regiment was initially created to garrison St. Petersburg. The regiment first saw action in The Great Northern War (1700-1721) at the Battle of Narva. The Sibiriskii Grenaderski Guards attempted to defend themselves from the Swedish army, but ultimetley fell to defeat. However King Charles XII of Sweden allowed them to keep there weapons, uniforms, and marched them back to Russia. For their prowess, all soilders of the Sibiriskii Grenaderski Guards wore red stockings as a tradition, for "in that battle, they stod knee-deep in blood". Major Yakov Lobanov-Rostovsky after the battle, was arrested and condemed to death for his fight of the battle however, but was pardoned after a later battle called Siege of Noteborg. In 1702, a battalion of the regiment took a 13-hour siege at the fortress of Noteborg, and successfully held off all enemies. Every member in the battalion was rewarded and Major Yakov Lobanov-Rostovsky was released of his arrest and death. Other notable battles it took place in was Siege of Nyenshantz, in which it captured the Swedish fleet at the mouth of the Neva River. In 1708 it took part in the Battle of Lesnaya, the first "real" Russian victory for Russia. And in 1709 it fought in the battle of Poltava, which sent the Swedish army out of Russia and Charles XII of Sweden into exile.
Napoleonic Wars -Between 1712-1790 it was a frontline regiment in other Russian wars for expansion. Upon the Arrival of the Napoleonic Wars, it was stationed in St. Petersburg and was undermanned. In 1812 however, it took part in the Battle of Borodino, but was held in reserve, but when the French captured the battery of Ravesky, it fought against the French as the center position and lost notable loses. In the campaign of 1813, it fought in the Battle of Lutzen, Bautzen, Kulm, and Leipzig, and in 1814 it arrived in Paris to force Napoleon's defeat.
19th Century, World War I, and Communist Uprising- Between 1828-1905, the regiment was garrisoned in St. Petersburg. During World War I, the regiment was dispatched to the South-West front, as a reserve battalion. It remained on this front until the February Revolution in 1917, in which it was disbanded, but a new regiment was formed in its place called the 3rd Petrograd City Regiment Guard (Named after the City it was staioned in). It was created to avoid enrolment in the Red Army. Upon the Commnist Uprising, it was ordered to massacre communists in Petrograd. In 1925, the regiment met its end. The regiment was arrested by the Red Army, all officers were killed, and all enlisted men were sent to camps.
