- After 3 weeks without any RGL matches, we'll finally face the 5th this Thursday. We have been waiting for an official match for quite sometimes, as trainings provided us decent results overall but not quite the excitement coming with the competition. We have quite a stacked week coming up, we no less than five different events planned but we'll probably slowdown in term of activity for the two weeks involving Christmas and new year. We should be back on January however, at full strength and with our most important RGL matches (77y - 66th - K-KA) yet to be played.

- The placings for the NWL have been officially announced for the next season and we're extremely proud to represent France, with the IVe Corps d'Armée Française, in the most storied NW competitions, in League 1 on top of that. Our road will be long and treacherous, facing some great names like the 66th Berkshire Regiment of Foot, former winner of the last NWL, but also the 72nd Highland Regiment of Foot and Kaiserlich und Königliche Armee, respectively 3rd and 4th during the last 1v1 LBs League in date, the European Infantry Cup. We'll obviously have to keep a close eye on the 77y, 96y and 18e, all experienced regiments that we cannot expect to win based on our melee prowess only, but also the 15thYR, which just recently reformed and will partake in the competition. We wish a very best of luck to all the regiments, especially to our fellow countrymen from the IVe which we'll meet at some points in the competition, as well as to the 2e Fusilier Grenadier de la Garde, which we hope to see performing admirably and reveal its true potential, in League 2 of the NWL. Speaking about them, we'll face both the IVe and 2eFusGre, on Friday and Sunday, in 1v1 training LB. So far, results in that category have been fairly positive so we hope to continue that trend.

- We remind everyone, EU same as Frenchmen, that with the addition of our Fusilier Company (Mostly Ex-35e) lead by DarkKnight, Gimli and JLB28, we look forward to play regular events more than ever. You can see us at the IVe Event on Wednesday for instance, but best remains to play among our ranks so if you carry an interest for the competitive adventure as much as playing more relaxed events from times to times, do know you will find what you like in the 85e.

Apparently when Chriseh plays us, he starts getting nervous so he focuses, start leading correctly and last time that made him and the 18e guys won. Even though 18e had a break, I would give them the edge in 1v1 LB, at least in term of leading capabilities. If we somehow get to melee with even numbers ... well that's another story.

I miss serious Price as well. Enjoyed the game much more. Oh well shit happen.

If a regiment deserves my respect then they will have it just as the 85e did.

I am above you all of course.

- 2017 is soon to end and it’s going to be nearly three months for the one and only purpose to play the RGL. If things have changed since then, our results in that competition have been rather satisfying so far, with only 9 rounds dropped in total out of three matches. (Two other being default wins). We're currently standing 3rd in the RGL rankings, with two matches less than the 77y, currently 2nd, and one less than the 66th, currently 1st. That being said, in many ways the hard part is only just beginning as we're yet to play three of the biggest threats in this RGL so far, the 77y which we'll play directly once the RLG break is over, in January; but also, the K-KA and obviously the 66th which to this point, looks like your most direct challenger to this Season 5 RGL title. That being said, we'll have to be careful not underestimating anyone and play all our matches at 100%. Another competition we're preparing is the NWL, as explained earlier on that thread and which should be soon to start too. For now, the brave soldiers of the 85e are taking a well-deserved rest to come back even stronger in January.

- The most important new of this New Year, 85e wise, concerns the 31e Régiment de Voltigeurs as well since they have decided to join as our Compagnie de Carabiniers (Light Infantry). We're excessively happy and proud to welcome them among our structure and even though - unlike the arrival of our Companie de Fusilier which was lengthily talked through - it was a very brief decision, we're convinced that it remains the best choice for both our regiments. We always had a soft spot for the 31e, which we shared a TS with back in the first 85e and we also have a common vision when it comes to NW which we hope will benefit the 85e as a whole. Our roster has been updated accordingly.

- Changes are also happening in our hierarchy since the Sergent Planta is leaving his duties. Those who have been following us since the beginning know that Planta and Centurion formed one of the most iconic duo of our regiment and that due to their serious and dedication but also their 'joie de vivre' and activity, they heavily contributed to the 85e' success. If Centurion remains at his rank for now, Planta can sadly no longer assume the responsibilities and attendance coming with such rank, mainly by lack of time and internet problem. That being said, he obviously stays in the regiment, at the rank of Grenadier and we sincerely hope to see him again soon. To replace him, the Grenadier   Sinjide is promoted to the rank of Sergent . Sinjide has accepted to take the biggest part of our lead in 1v1 and this, for the upcoming NWL and proved that we could count on him for the future of the 85e. Consequently, he appeared as the most obvious candidate to take our vacant Sergent rank. Congratulations to him.

With many regrets however, this end of the year also means the departure of our Caporal Fourrier de Première Freddie . Freddie has indeed decided to stop NW, for a certain time at least. If we fully respect his decision, we'll greatly miss him as we are losing one of our greatest member and most trustful EU player. We sincerely wish them the best for his IRL life and still hope to see him on NW at some point. Therefore, the Grenadier Tibérias return to his former rank of Caporal Fourrier de Première , with immediate effect. Also, our Aide de Camp Clash will from now on hold the rank of Grenadier , as it fits his availability better. We still want to thank him for everything positive he did for the 85e as Aide de Camp. Finally, the Grenadiers Fotin et Troister are promoted to the rank of Caporaux to reward their activity, dedication and loyalty. We hope this promotion will manage to reflect the indisputable importance those two have in the 85e, and encourage them to keep delivering in the competitions to come.

- Those promotions are merely a reflection of a certain wish from the 85e High Command to restructure our regiment for the months to come and this to be capable of offering to our members an experience as unique and enjoyable as possible. As I was mentioning it earlier in that post, the 85e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne which was initially reformed for the main purpose of playing the RGL S5 is growing stronger and now looking further then the simple 'competitive aspect' of NW. We'd like to take this occasion to thanks all our members who decided to trust us in this new adventure which promise to be rich and exciting. And don't mistake our intentions. If the 85e is yet to prove itself as a regiment in many aspects, other than its groupfighting capacities, we still intend to give our very best every time, no matter what we do, and will still always proudly assume our objective to become the best current NW regiment.

With that in mind, we hope your Christmas was as enjoyable as possible and wish to the whole NW community a great New Year. We are impatient to cross swords, with or against you all.

Fidelitate et Honore

Capitaine Tardet, au 85e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne.
