If I do end up doing a WWII German impression, it would definitely be Heer.

I just bought an M1943 entrenching tool (and a few other things) to replace my M1910 t-handle shovel. That piece of crap...

No more; "That awkward moment when you take a t-handle to the knee."

I do the US 30th Infantry Division for WWII. I may be starting another WWII impression soon though (possibly Heer or Red Army).

I like how he conveniently forgets the Holy Roman Empire in his list (nearly 1,000 years), and the French Empire(s) (both nearly 20 years) as well.

We should all just join the French Foreign Legion.

It's basically kicked into them. It serves a purpose while in combat, but yeah, bloody annoying in all other situation.
I can attest to this from years of personal experience. They're a mixed lot though, a lot are like that, but then others are just fine.

Anyways...

As for me, were I to join the (US) military I would (as an officer, most likely) probably join the Army and go with either A) the US Army Veterinary Corps or B) as a tank commander. It really depends on why I'm joining the army. If it's more so that I can have some sort of "stable" job, pay, housing, ect. then I would probably be a Vet, or something more along the non-combat line. If however, I'm joining the Army because America is at war and I either A) Believe the war to be highly justified, or B) Would prefer volunteering over running the risk of being drafted, then I would most likely be a tanker. Other possibilities include but are not limited to; pilot, infantry, and paratrooper. Possibly Special Forces, but eh, I doubt it.

Stewart and Steward are definitely (or at the very least, "should be") pronounced differently. Steward has a softer ending than Stewart. It's like the difference between "tie" and "die".

Even a dictionary will tell you they're (supposed to be) pronounced differently.

I'll grant you that it does sound somewhat similar, especially as the only difference is the last letter, but that last letter does make a difference in the way it's pronounced*.

*This may vary by accent, but again, their "standard" pronunciation is different.

Thanks for the information guys, just scanned another photo, can anyone tell me what they think this was?

Spoiler
[close]

Those are the landing boats used for setting troops on land. They became notorious in the war after D-Day, because if the enemy had machine guns, or even just 3 men with rifles, it was way too easy to kill an entire boatload, which I thinkg held about two squads.

Yea that what I thought, anyone know the location or can guess though??
Not sure, perhaps immediately before the invasion of an island. As it appears the men to the right are on a larger boat.
